Personality: Shu Ryorin is a bit different from other girls. She was trained young in many Chinese martial arts, and as such from a young age spent a lot of her time training her body physically, mentally, and spiritually. As such, she is a very calm collected young woman.
When first meeting people, she is very nice, mature, and good natured. It's better to be a friend than an enemy. She is not quick to judge, but she is quick to react, and will jump into situations sometimes without thinking if someone needs help, thinking someone is the aggressor when she doesn't know the full story.
She has a very loose thinking of Good vs. Evil, but she believes everyone has their reasons and can easily come to an understanding. Perhaps is better to say she has a thinking of Morals vs. NonMorals, or something along those lines. When people say "It's not how the world works." she usually replies with "No, it's not. But it should...and it will." That's just a quick summary of her thinking process.
While training, she can be a bit lenient, but most of the time she is very serious. She takes her training very seriously, because that is who she is. She respects other peoples style of training, but doesn't like it when someone doesn't take it seriously, and will most of the time speak up.
Emotionally, she keeps her emotions inside as her training as taught her. However, that doesn't mean she won't show emotions such as sadness or anger. If the time comes, she will break into tears or burst into anger.
While she may not seem like the type of person, she does like cute things, such like furry stuffed animals or other things like that. She doesn't show it in public, but if one would go into her room on would see a clean pink and red room filled with many cute things.
Appearance and Figure
Shu Ryorin is a small to average girl, standing at 5' 5. She takes great care of her body, bathing for quite long periods of time both in the morning and at night. As such, her skin is very silky and smooth, and brings out her chinese heritage features.
She keeps her hair in tied in the picture while in public, especially while training, so as it doesn't get in the way as long hair does, but while at home and enjoying herself, her hair is able to flow freely. It is very beautiful and shiny black hair, and when one runs their hand through it, it can almost feel like silk.
Her upper body can be considered petite, while her legs are quite long. In her upper body, she's got a pretty good and noticeable bust size, but it's not something she tote's around.
While in public or anywhere really, she keeps her make-up to a minimal, letting her skin show freely. Her nails are kept polished, but are not painted any different color nor does she put on fake ones. Her only piercings consists of two on each ear for earrings. Shu does not have any tattoes anywhere, as she feels it defiles the body.
During special chinese ceremonies her family holds in American as well as holiday trips to China, she will don traditional Chinese garb. She is not afraid to celebrate the Chinese heritage, because that's who she is.
While Shu has worn American clothing, she prefers to wear Chinese clothing or a mixture of the two.
Her hair while in public except on rare occasions are tied back into two ponytails, one on each side, with both being tied back with pink ribbons.
While she does wear the occasional shirt and jeans or shirt and skirt, Shu is mostly seen in public wearing different modified versions of the Qipao or Cheongsam that are more public everyday wear, as one would see Ling Xiaoyu from Tekken wearing. They vary in color, but are mostly Pink and Red primary, with a pink or red ribbon tied around the waste of the Qipao. When not wearing a Qipao, she usually wears blue jeans, a shirt or blouse, and tennis shoes.
Shu will most likely be seen wearing bracelets around her wrists. Her shoes while wearing a Qipao are Chinese traditional shoes.

Basic Fighting Information
Grades:
Str: C Dex: B Con: D Wis: C
Fighting Style: Various Chinese Martial Arts such as Baguazhang, Pi Qua Quan, Tai Chi Chuan along with Aikido.
Information on each style as well as years practiced
Fighting Description: From a young age, Shu Ryorin has been fascinated by Martial Arts. When she first saw people perform Wushu and other styles in China, she immediately asked her parents to get her lessons to teach her. Shu was first taught in Baguazhang and Pi Qua Quan, but soon learned other various types of Martial Arts such as Aikido and Tai Chi Chuan.
Shu thinks of Martial Arts as it is said in it's name. An art. An art that one can search and try to achieve perfection but never reach because there is no such thing as perfection, and as such one can only get better and better. It's that beauty and reason that Shu's so fascinated by Martial Arts.
While Shu sparred with others, she did not think of using Martial Arts other than self defense and competition to better oneself until she moved to America. There she first witnessed corporal punishment and it's horrors. While she was not a part of the schools itself, she felt devastated at how one could use the Martial Arts in that fashion.
In fights, Shu fights on instinct. The Chinese Martial Arts she learned focused more on speed, skill, and flexibility and the like, and less on strength, therefore, she will try to out manuever her opponent and try to bring them into submission that way. Shu first fought with her palms, but learned boxing to use her fists if her palms won't work.
Shu is not a fool. If something is not working she will try something else, and keep trying and trying until something does work.
Shu also fights with a loose code of honor. She will not hurt injured opponents with reason, nor will she resort to foul play, such as hitting a person's already injured bone or joint. However, she will do so if she must, such as saving someone's life or along those lines.
After fighting in the environment of 552 and the surrounding areas she as sub-conciously picked up moves and techniques others have used against her as well as some street fighting techniques. These moves are far from Chinese martial art moves and are more like moves one might see in the Octagon of UFC. She has morphed these moves with her Chinese Martial Arts and way of fighting to create a style of her own. A style that is very versatile depending on each situation.
Fighting Strengths: Being small and flexible, she can be hard to be held in one spot or kept down. She is very graceful, and will dodge attacks with ease and while doing so go into her own attacks, and seem as though it is one fluid motion. A work of art. As such, not as much energy is used while fighting, and she can go on longer than other fighters can,
Fighting Weaknesses: Having trained in palm fighting for most of her life and not against fist fighters except for the past couple of years, she can be easily hurt or injured against a strong fighter's punch and such. Also, while she is very graceful, flexible, fast, and hard to get down, if one were able to stop her movement and hold her down, one could easily take advatage of her small body and her mildly weak strength. That doesn't mean she can't escape the situation though.
Notices: While Ryorin is an extremely calm, collected, and normally kind-hearted individual, even she can snap and fall to her anger if she were to be pushed enough. Normally, if you were to see her like this, any morals that she had for fighting probably leaped out of the window. She becomes more cunning and crafty and if someone is injured, will go after the injured body part without remorse. She is also not afraid to take blows if the opponent is not challenging to toy with them, almost trying to force them to become better fighters.
Of course, that doesn't mean she doesn't have any morals. While she is fighting like this, she is trying desperately hard on the inside to try to regain control over her emotions and some of her actions might dictate this. However, nothing is ever easy.

Pre-552 Arc

Shu Ryorin was born a single child with no brothers or sisters, and she still is to this day. Her father, Shu Sanzo, and her mother, Shu Kinrei, felt that they could really only take care of one child in their lifetime due to their affairs, and decided that all their love would be given to Ryorin.
Shu Sanzo is a diplomat of foreign affairs, and when Ryorin was still living in China there was limited time to see her father before he had to fly to different countries, mainly America, to handle affairs and problems. Ryorin, while she was unhappy for leaving China at the time, was happy that she would have more time to spend with her father.
Shu Kinrei used to be a potential Olympic Champion for China. Scheduled to compete in quite a few gymnastics events for the Olympics when she was seventeen, she was favored to win gold in Vault. However, a broken leg forced her to retire from those Olympics, and after she met her husband Sanzo shortly after, she decided to quite Olympics for good to make a family. She now makes a living as a seamstress, spending a lot of time with Ryorin in all the while.
Shu Ryorin was born and lived the first few years of her life as a normal Chinese girl. However, one day, her family attended a Wushu show along with some of Sanzo business partners. While Ryorin watched the wushu, she was awed and inspired by their movements, and decided to take up different classes and try them for herself. Ryorin trained herself physically, mentally, and spirtually. She takes great care of her body, bathing twice a day, as she believes that by keeping her body clean and healthy, it helps also spiritually and mentally.
Ryorin also excelled at school, receiving top grades most of the time. Knowledge is power and balance to her. As such she doesn't slack of in her schoolwork, getting it finished almost immediately.
When Ryorin moved to America with her family when she was eleven, Ryorin first saw the horrors of the Corporal Punishment system. They were using Martial Arts to abuse people. She was disgusted by it all. Ryorin prepared herself, as she knew one day she would enter a school with the system. To Ryorin's fears, that was true.
Arrival Arc
552 was just as Ryorin expected it to be and she really didn't like it all. But Ryorin had yet to see the horrors that had spawned from the system. In an attempt to try to find a way to rid the system, she teamed up with Cain, a man who lived for fighting. In a test of skill, both fought to a stalemate, although Ryorin believed that Cain certainly had the upperhand if he didn't see Ryorin as a friend.
In an effort to rest and to heal any wounds the fight had spawned, Ryorin invited Cain over to her house, where his visit turned into an episode of Three's Company or Love Hina. Both shared secrets that they had to each other and formed a deep bond, a bond that would be needed if they were to find a way to get rid of the system.
However, Cain disappeared suddenly, and Ryorin almost felt heartbroken where she was unable to concentrate on many things and didn't have the will to continue one-hundred percent on her goal. After a month, Cain returned, saying that he had been swept off to Britain for some exchange student program by the higher ups. The two sparred again, this time in Ryorin's newly acquired gym, where it ended with another draw with Ryorin holding back a blow that could cause a lot of damage to someone had it gone through.
Two days later, Ryorin invited Cain to a charity event that she was singing for. It was during the two day break and that night the two had that Ryorin had realized that she had fallen in love with Cain, and she gave him a kiss that night.
However, all was not well for long as the Halloween Dance took place, where Cain was talking to a girl named Leanne and later to a girl named Misaki who Cain called Gucchi, like a pet name, and Ryorin took it as a sign of affection. In a jealous rage, she kissed Cain in front of everyone as Leanne made a scene of jealousy as well, with Misaki running off. The misunderstanding was soon fixed, but that night certainly was the beginning of something more.
Soon after, Leanne met Ryorin in her gym and after a short spar Leanne told Ryorin she could have Cain. In return, Ryorin gave Leanne a bit of advice to stop hiding her emotions behind cold eyes and masks.
Not long after that day, Ryorin came into contact with Sonia, a hyperactive girl who she had met earlier and had thrown a brick through her gym, resulting in a fight. This meeting was on more calm terms, as Ryorin learned that Sonia was pregnant. The two talked about their love lives over lunch and soon after Sonia agreed to help Ryorin in her mission as much as the baby inside her would allow.
And now there are three...
War Arc
The War between the Student Council faction known as Minerva and The Defenders started soon after the alliance between Ryorin and Narin, leader of the Defenders. However, despite her many tries to both defend the students and to get rid of or change the Systems, she was faced with many failures. Soon after, students started to disappear, move on with their lives. It was no different for Sonia or Cain. Ryorin figured it was time to do the same.
Two years passed as the struggles went on before Ryorin decided to move to another Corporal Punishment school and start her efforts again. Looking at Chula Vista, she felt it was the best choice of action and bidding farewell to her parents, left towards there to start anew.
Chula Vista Arc
To many others it is unknown what happened to Ryorin during that two year stretch. How far she had gotten to her goal, what happened to the school, her comrades and best friends, to Cain. Perhaps someone is willing to tell the tale. Ryorin has shut herself from that part in her life and is willing to start her goal again anew in Chula Vista. Perhaps this time she might be able to succeed.
Gojyo, who moved with her to look after her, lives away from her parents in a Small Mansion a couple of miles away from the school, along with Risa and Cearea, whom both wanted to stay with Ryorin and Gojyo. She still sees her father and mother regularly, visiting each other back and forth during flights, but has basically established herself as an individual without needing a guardian to take care of herself.
