His comment actually did make her cheeks blaze up again and Aleece cursed herself. Yeah she liked to talk a lot of talk, but she was easily flustered apparently and with this guy? How could she not be? So today didn’t turn out to be a complete pain because of her preference not to run outside, and somehow she figured she’d be doing it more often though.

Maybe it was Aroon’s constant flirting, the sidelong glances that made her think that he did like what he saw too making just a little (not much) but just enough more confident that she could keep up with him at this point.

She knew it was getting on into the morning hours slowly fading in closer to the afternoon as they made their way block by block by the amount of people that were steadily increasing. Nothing overbearing maybe like San Diego, but still enough to make her have to take a step to the side closer to her current company and brush against him, to avoid a woman with a stroller obviously paying attention to the kid more then she was anyone else. Aleece watched them pass with a small smile before looking a head.

She was about to take a step back out but his question stopped her and she tipped her chin to squinted a bit to see what he was talking about. There right ahead of them by a couple more blocks was a quaint little bistro type place and she turned to Aroon a smile ready on her lips. “Ah, so you did have a plan to go somewhere, and here I thought you were going to walk me around randomly and try to impress the pants off of me.”

Chuckling she ducked her head and continued to follow him, wondering briefly if she could restrain herself in the face of those sweets places like the one they were heading usually served with their caffeine specialties.

He'd noticed the stroller, but when Aleece had sidestepped in towards him to dodge, he'd moved only marginally and let her arm brush against his, the slight contour of his muscle sweeping over her skin before he shifted slightly, not about to overstep a boundary that, whilst unstated, he felt was there. He could see the little gestures, the small things that showed even though she liked the conversation and, clearly, the flirtatious behaviour, there was a hint of discomfort about her.

Still, that could fade over the duration of a conversation. Perhaps he was looking at it the wrong way, perhaps it wasn't discomfort about him, but about herself....?

'Surely not...'

He tried to discard that, but it kept returning to his mind. Her flirting was almost shameless, yet she seemed to have a shy streak that mingled with it...It rattled his mind to work it out, and the obligatory thought about the female gender and being impossible to understand was thought, but he left it alone as she quipped at him again. He mused over the notion of where he could hand her a tennis racquet, since she kept serving up the best shots for him to fire back with....Though, he began to wonder if that was perhaps her intent.

"Oh, Aleece...I don't plan to impress them off you at all, but perhaps I could come up with another idea or two...."

He raised a hand to his chin, his expression one that appeared lost in thought as he smirked. A moment later, he glanced at her before nudging her with a shoulder, grinning. If that one wouldn't leave her with a stutter, he'd have to outright proposition her...

'Who's to know she wouldn't just love that, though?' he thought, a mental chuckle adding to the rather lustful mental image that crept into his mind.

A minute or two later, however, they would be outside the bistro, and he would absent-mindedly pull out a chair for Aleece first before stepping over to one adjacent at the same table...A man could be chivalrous, but he really didn't buy into a lot of the things like 'helping a lady to her seat'. Yeah, hold a door for someone, offer them the first of something, buy them a meal or a drink, but holding a chair and sitting them? Usually people stopped needing such things once they got to around five years old....

He smiled as she sat, reaching to the centre of the table and plucking the drink list before laying it flat, angled so Aleece could read over it as well as him.

Her attention was really drawn back to Aroon when he spoke again and if it had been intention to trip her up he almost had her with that statement and her mouth opened briefly her head turning to look at him catching the thoughtful look on his face like he was seriously contemplating ways to get her out of her pants sooner or later. But she had stuttered out a laugh and looked down when he nudged her, not that she was offended or anything. Because like with her first encounter with Hicks, the quickest way to fluster her up real fast was to be overtly sexual with her.

It was like her kryptonite. Shame really, she’d probably have a much more normal teenage experience other wise. (Or maybe that was normal? She was so inexperience she didn't know..)

So her defense? Counter where it might hurt… “Oh?” She drawled, still the coloring on her cheeks noticeable telling on her. “Somehow I’m kinda doubting that, Aroon, I mean you look good and all…but…”

Aleece let her words trail off almost thoughtfully ending with a mocking little sigh she shook her head before grinning and holding off a laugh that wanted to bubble up again. She noticed that they had neared the quaint establishment and she ducked her head when he held out the seat for her, which she took wondering if every guy got chivalrous bouts or if he just wanted something from it. Either way she didn’t comment like she normally would with a tease and crossed her ankles tucking them under her chair as she leaned forward on her arms meeting Aroon as he slid the menu in the middle to share.

“So I’m going to assume you frequent this place or have been here on occasion,” she said looking up at him with a small smile. “What’s the best they’ve got here?”

Aleece wouldn’t doubt if he had brought at least a couple girls here, he seemed much to smooth to not have after all. If she had to hazard a guess again he either didn’t do this often or he was well acquainted with all of this.

"Doubt if you wish, but now is now, and then is then."

The smirk was still with a muted flair of confidence, not one to take bait like that quite so easily. If she were to tell him straight that he was barking up the wrong tree, then he would cease immediately. He was no pest, that was certain, but he would continue to play along for now. He glanced away as he took his seat and perused the menu...He'd already opted to have a simple coffee, not really one for the fancier things with chocolate, and froth and god-knows-what-else mixed into the sweet yet bitter caffeine, but when Aleece questioned what was good, he 'hmm'ed under his breath for a moment or two.

"Well, if you like coffee, the cappuccino's done pretty well here, so I'm told. I'm not a tea drinker, but seeing what's carried out over the time I spend sitting here when I'm in the area, it sells pretty well too. I'm not too sure on the smoothies and whatnot, but I'd bet they're good too. This place isn't run like a Starbucks or something, the whole setup's about quality rather than just how 'fancy' you can make something..."

He smiled, a small turn of his head to look at her as she glanced over the list herself.

One might find it odd, for one of only three girls he'd actually shown an interest in -and the first since arriving in America- going off his behaviour and the like, that Aroon could keep his demeanour as composed as it was. The simple fact remained for the Thai, that when you could read people quite as well as he could, it gave a slight 'heads up', so to speak. He could see a gesture of discomfort, of embarrassment, or even a display of attraction or lust...Little things, like the flush in a persons skin, the way their face twitched at a remark, even how they looked at him...All small things that added up in their own way, hinting the Thai.

"Anything catching your eye, Aleece?" he asked, before noticeably shifting his eyes to the menu as he looked at her. Connotation aside, he was actually asking about a beverage...

Her eyes left the menu in favor of looking at Aroon as he spoke, not that she really needed an excuse to, but it just gave her justified cause to eyeball that nice face of his. Aleece nodded as his comparison of Starbucks to where they now, and she cast an eye around.

“Alright just go ahead and make my choice harder,” she teased, but of course she had partaken in the commercial fad of the coffee industry, though really she wasn’t a “go out get double macchiato, then broad like a deep soulful artist over your lap top as you write screen plays” kinda girl…

This place was mellow, quality an obvious factor like he had said and with a smile she looked down at the choices not really sure what she was in the mood for anymore. But since she had gone and ran, and was appearing to be healthy at the moment she thought she’d go with –

"Anything catching your eye, Aleece?"

Looking up then when Aroon spoke again she grinned a little at his question it could easily be taken a handful of ways by her and she was sure that was what he had intended. She really liked the way her name sounded coming off his lips, and there was no stopping the blush…at those thoughts. Nodding Aleece leaned her chin on the heel of her hand making sure to lean just fractionally in his direction.

“In fact…something did catch my interest,” Her grin was slow and easy to spread and just as smoothly she moved her hand to pick up the menu pointing something out as her eyes went to it. “The strawberry banana smoothies look delicious.”

Laughing again she sat back, her elbows resting on either metal arm rest and her fingers laced together over her stomach.

“So anything catch your attention?” Aleece countered almost devilishly the only thing contradicting her tone was the pleasant and much to innocent expression, if not a bit genuinely curious.

He chuckled softly at her comment, "My apologies, but you did ask what was good. It just so happens that there's quite a lot of good things here.", he retorted with a small smile before leaning back, having settled on his decision. He took a slow, deep breath and exhaled contentedly, tilting his head in Aleeces direction when he spoke again, his eyebrows raising slightly as he waited for her words.

"Hm, I suppose it does sound good..." he mused, a thoughtful expression on his face, leaning forward a little to glance at the descriptor for the beverage. However, his attention was broken by her teasing lilt once more.

"Well, a couple of things...", he paused for a moment, a wry and knowing glint in his eye as he caught hers for a second, "But since you asked...I'll be having a coffee. The dark roast here is surprisingly good, and I must confess I'm a bit of a caffeine addict."

The smile was laced with a teasing lilt in his earlier words, and a chuckle as he glanced over Aleeces shoulder where he saw one of the waitresses lingering around, watching to see if they were ready to take an order. He gave a short nod in her direction, and she began to approach the table...

She liked this right here, the easy flirting, with the sexual under tones the witty bantering with a nice guy who just happened to be nice to look at. A more cynical part of her wanted to ask what the catch was…but she refrained from doing so her smile spreading widely as he used her own tactic against her.

Aleece noticed his gaze shift ever so over her shoulder and she twisted her head on instinct to see that it was a cute little waitress coming up to take their order. With a raised eyebrow she sat up and sent a sidelong glace Aroon’s way when the girl seemed to blush at the site of him still not wearing a shirt. Well she could understand that well enough, and also understood just why the little blonds eyes didn’t make it past his chest…

Not knowing if she should do it she dived head long like she did almost everything now a days.

Clearing her throat she got the girls attention and quirked an oh really look her way at the slightly put out expression she got for it. Sitting up she rested her arms on the table drawing herself just a little bit closer to Aroon. “Yeah I’d like a strawberry banana smoothie please,” looking across to her company her smile curled teasingly. “And what did you want, baby?”

She let a hand fall to the table palm up for him to take (if he wanted to) accompanying the sentiment the mirth that was shining across her face unmistakable as she wondered if he would play along.

He acknowledged the waitress with a smile, mentally noting that she didn't actually look at his face for more than a second or two before ogling him. He raised an eyebrow at the blatant display, then nearly burst into laughter at his own double standard.

'Yes, because it's alright for Aleece to do it but not the waitress? That's intelligent thinking....'

However, as the brunette placed her part of the order, shooting her a smirk of amusement before he laid his hand into hers, splaying a couple of fingers through hers and turning with a rather convincing set of 'goo-goo' eyes. He did relish in the soft touch of her fingers in his, so perhaps that added a little more authenticity to the act...

"Just black coffee, cutie."

He caught the disappointed look on the waitresses face as she jotted down the order, shooting her a polite smile before turning his 'loving gaze' back to Aleece, waiting for her to shuffle off to give the check to the barista. The first chuckle slipped out after a few seconds, and he rested his head in his palm as he let himself laugh quietly, shaking his head in incredulity.

"Let me guess, did you catch her ogling too?", he managed to get out as he got the worst of the laughter under control, a soft sigh creeping from his lips as he smiled widely.

"Maybe I should put my shirt back on....." he added, teasingly, after all he might well end up depriving Aleece in the same action...

She was glad to see Aroon follow her lead, and not let her fall flat on her face with the teasing and when his hand slipped over hers she lightly bit her lip. His hands were big…warm and…ah hell they were nice. There was no flowery sentiment or poetry she was trying to think about at the moment she really wanted to know what they felt like on the rest of her and all this was purely hormonal on her part. There was just no way in hell it couldn’t be, not when he was as smart as he was and so hot it should have been illegal at least in a couple states to have that sort of combination.

She hadn’t realized her lips had parted somewhat as she looked down at their hands almost missing the endearment he used back but it caused a love struck smile to appear and she watched the little blond disappear almost giving into the urge to stick out her tongue. Yeah great impression that would make after all.

Aleece looked back fully at her company and chuckled herself nodding as he asked if she had seen the obvious eye rape. She nearly pouted though when he said he should put back on a shirt. “I dunno we might get these drinks free if you keep it off.”

She couldn’t help but tease, “though if you so there is the possibility of you getting attacked some some teenage hormonal girl.”

"That's true, but she might expect another form of payment....."

He chuckled before shaking his head, knowing that Aleece had set the line up too easily for him. "Of course, but what about the waitress?"

Raising an eyebrow with a wry grin, he leaned back in the chair, slowly drawing his hand away with a hint of reluctance. He curled his fingertips just a little as they brushed across her hand, smiling a moment before clearing his throat and directing his attention to the menu again for a moment. Alright, so he'd found himself a little flustered this time...Oddly, moreso at the display made to the waitress, which had only just taken its full mental effect after the humour had settled.

"So, I never asked before, but how long have you been at Knox? I mean, apparently there was a whole bunch of new students this year..."

Okay, slightly more 'neutral' conversation again, but he kept his eyes back on her and ended up with a few more inappropriate thoughts jumping into his head, his hand still on the table, a few inches from hers as his fingers idly tapped against the wood with a faint rhythm...

Laughing softly along with his chuckle she knew that she had set it up for him and her easy grin faded a bit, her stomach tightening a bit at the feel of his fingers brushing across her hand for some odd reason. Hell it was just a hand. Nothing erogenous (or so she thought) about that…Licking her lips lightly she breathed out quietly and looked at him when he asked his question.

It took a minute to register…Knox? New student…first year. Yeah she was all of those.

“Oh! Yeah,” she said blushing for her blunder and realizing that she had yet to answer him. “This is my first year at Knox. Got transferred in late something wrong with my paper work.”

Shrugging she pulled her hand to her but kept leaning on the table casually, “I dunno this place wasn’t what I thought it was going to be. I hardly fit in and I feel like I gotta watch my back at every step.”

Smiling again though she looked up and raised an eyebrow, keeping the conversation impartial as well. “And you? How long have you been at Fremont?”

Tempted as he was to brush his hand into hers again, he opted against it for the moment. Instead, he left his hand where it was, nodding as she answered...She was a first-time attendee for the Collective, same as him. It might explain a little about how easy-going she'd been finding out he was from Fremont, not that he'd tar every Knox student with the same brush.

"First year too...I spent a year with tutors at home when I came to America, mostly to make sure my English would be on form for when I started attending classes." he explained, smiling as he spoke. He had to admit that his grasp of English had been extraordinarily easy, and he was deeply glad for it. When it came to things like this, or with any person for that matter, it was better than muddling along with a base knowledge of the language...

"Though, I know what you mean. Feels like there's eyes on you everywhere, and then there's the apparent animosity between the two schools...It's stupid, really."

He smiled despite the pensive state of his words, and leaned back in his chair a little. Shooting a warm smile at Aleece, he shrugged. "Still, if I get to meet someone like you as a result, hell, I'll tolerate it."

A moment later, the waitress returned with the drinks, setting them down without even glancing at Aroon this time, and as he realised she'd heard the last comment he'd made he grinned at the timing of his words, rolling his eyes.

"Now that was just bad luck on her part..."

Aleece had to admit that Aroon was impressive all around and it left her to wonder if there was anything wrong with this guy. There had to be a flaw a…something that messed with this perfect façade. It pricked her curiosity when she knew it shouldn’t but it did and she was hooked now.

She couldn’t agree more about that being stupid, all the people that she had met so far were for the most part pleasant…and she said the for the most part. “Well I’m glad you’ll tolerate it for my sake.”

Laughing softly she looked up just as the waitress returned and her eyebrow shot up when she realized the timing of both their comments and as the girl walked away she laughed to herself. “The poor thing,” she said as she pulled her smoothie to her and took drink from the straw. Pulling back she eyed the frozen fruit mix in front of her licked her lips. “This is good…”

Aleece usually wasn’t one for the healthy food but she liked a good smoothie every once in a while. Looking back at Aroon she grinned a bit and ducked her head down for another drink.

“So do you like it here? In the Collective? In America?” She asked with a small laugh, but wanted to get to know more about this guy she felt compelled to and didn’t think this would be there only run in from now on…

"You're quite welcome. I'm hopeful that most of the people I'll meet will be courteous enough, but I doubt I'll get the reception you've given me..."

He smiled warmly, though his eyes didn't quite travel up to her face. Instead, he was busying himself stirring a sachet of sugar into his coffee with a twist of his fingers around the spoon...Dropping in a dash of cream to take the edge from the delicious-smelling brew, he stirred that through as well before lifting the cup to his lips, taking a long breath of it before sipping slowly.

'Delicious...'

Smiling almost reflexively, his mind wandered for just a second before he set the cup down in front of him again, glancing over as she commented on her smoothie. "Well, that's good. The barista can live to serve another day...." he quipped, a flash of ivory teeth between his lips as he sipped the coffee again. The conversation took a slight lull, hardly unexpected since they were just settling into the drinks, but a moment later he turned his head with a small flick of an eyebrow in questioning, before answering her.

"Well, it certainly took some getting used to being in America, but I do like it here. It's much different to what I was used to back home, though. That's for sure. As for the Collective, well....I suppose the jury's still out on that one. I'm compelled to dislike it simply because of the things I've seen happening since I got here, but at the same time, I wonder if it's just the norm here. I've not exactly got anything else to compare it to, y'know?"

He smiled with a shrug of his shoulders, tilting his head at her. "Same at you. How are you liking the Collective so far?"

Her pleasant smile couldn’t stop from dipping down, dimming a bit when he turned the question on her. Did she like the collective? Well that was sort of a tough question to answer. It wasn’t the collective per say…

“Well you can’t judge other places to what you’ve experienced here. This is hardly the average,” she said with a half turned corner of her lip trying to make it more casual then she was feeling at the moment. Shrugging lightly she leaned back in her seat completely taking her drink with her and her brow furrowing a bit as she frowned. “But I suppose it could be worse…”

Remembering the Pit Aleece pushed off a shudder and the things that followed after. If one thing she was good at, it was denial and she was denying anything and everything that happened only a sort time ago. She had plans to pay back, subtly without violence because if anything she didn’t know if she could start riots or try to beat the system to a bloody pulp…but she could do it one way she knew how.

“You just gotta keep your nose down…and if you do make trouble I guess,” laughing lightly she shrugged, “try not to get caught. Or that’s what I try to do at least.”

Taking a drink Aleece put her cup back on the table and looked at Aroon her smiled pulling more naturally back on her face. “Okay enough about school, its depressing enough when its normal, but talking about the collective is down right clinical. So tell me about you. Inquiring minds want to know.”

"Yeah, I guess it's probably better to take this place with a pinch of salt..." he mused as he leaned into his chair, cupping the beverage between his hands. He didn't look up at her, not directly, but he glanced long enough to notice the shudder and the distaste in her tone for her following comment...There were times he cursed his observant capablilities, part of him really didn't want to know if she'd fallen foul of Knox's head figure, but now the notion was in his head thanks to those small actions he'd picked up on....

'Don't get too involved, Aroon....'

After her observation, she seemed content to change the subject and he made no effort to prevent it, smiling to lighten the mood himself before shifting forward, setting the cup down after a small sip.

"Well, I suppose I'll give you the basic run-down...First, my full name is Aroon Kamsing. Obviously, as you can see, I'm from Thailand. I was born in Bangkok, lived there until last year when my family moved out here. I've got an older brother who stayed back there for academic purposes as well, but I'll stick with the easy bits for now...Uhm, my father runs a couple of health clubs back there, as well as one he opened in San Diego last year, my mother's a freelance photographer, but that's really more of a hobby for her that I've kinda taken up too...Uhm, I first got into Muay Thai when I was five, my parents got me and my brother to take up a sport, he went for lacrosse --he's really good at it, too--. I've stuck with it since then, and other than that it's the typical fodder..."

He paused to take a sip of the coffee before setting the cup back down, smirking before carrying on with a feigned, almost robotic tone. "My favourite colour's green, favourite food is Nasi Goreng, I love photography and running and I'm averse to smokers. There's no way to really say that without feeling like you're auditioning for a dating show..." he chuckled at the notion, before he gave a slow gesture of his hand at Aleece.

"Your turn, let's hear all about you."

Aleece smiled around her straw as he talked giving her the short and sweet pretty much what she would do as well but it proved insightful. He sounded about exciting as her and her family life pretty average from what she could see, though she laughed when he went on to list his favorite color and food, along with his likes and dislikes.

When he turned it to her she grimaced a bit but nodded, “alright here’s the short and skinny. My family moved here from Chile a year before I was born. I have an older brother in college and a younger sister in middle school. My father manages the Embassy Suites in La Jolla, my mother is a home maker. I’m the middle child and….that’s why I’m here. I like computers, and puzzles and anything that gets me curious enough. I love double cheeseburgers, I have the worlds largest hoodie collection, and my favorite color is blue though I don’t like to wear it….”

Shrugging she took another drink noticing it disappearing quickly. “So there we go we learned about each other in about one minute. That’s pretty good,” she said with a small a laugh, “would this be considered speed dating, you think?”

"The worlds largest hoodie collection, huh...? That's something I'll have to appraise at some point. You know, just to make sure you aren't trying to sneak into the record books..."

He chuckled softly at that rather interesting piece of information and raised his cup to sip at some more, glancing in to see it was close to three-quarters gone. As a result it was growing lukewarm, though in the sunshine that wasn't necessarily a bad thing. Swirling the cup in his hand idly, he tilted his head back for a second before answering.

"Perhaps, though I've always been more attracted to the idea of dating at 'regular' speed. After all, what's the big hurry? All the time to find out the -really- important things, after all...." he noted with an almost musing tone, shooting his eyes down with a teasing wink as his lips drew into a grin. True enough, though. Now he knew more than he might have thought possible for a single cup of coffee (or in her case, smoothie).

"Still, don't they tend to switch partners in the speed-dating thing? Maybe we should call that poor waitress back over....." he added with a chuckle, the clearly teasing tone in his voice added to with a roll of his eyes. God, at least he was happy to let Aleece eye him as she saw fit. He got the same luxury after all. Besides, he was never going to be one for blondes....

Aleece’s smile spread wider slowly and she watched him from through her lashes as she still had her head ducked down watching Aroon. But she couldn’t help the small slightly put out look that ran across her face chased by a grimace at the mention of the waitress.

She wouldn’t be surprised if the girl tried to poison her drink or something, some people were just crazy around here. Now she really didn’t think she was going to get something unexpectedly extra in her cup but she really didn’t want the girl back over here unless it was them paying for their purchases and on their way out.

“Well lets keep this to a normal speed then, that is if this is even a date to begin with…” She said teasingly but oddly enough it did have that feel to it even if it was spur of the moment. As casual as things were at the moment they could probably be considered by other people to be together…even dressed as they were. Raising a jokingly questioning eyebrow she used the straw to stir up her drink, “besides I think if she came back over here you’d be mauled. Wouldn’t want that at all…”

Aleece let her words trail off as her gaze dipped and lingered noticeably and on purpose, smirking a little to herself as she did.

"Hm, I suppose it's not entirely out of character for a first date, though usually I'm a 'three-date' kind of guy before you get my shirt off. Consider it a freebie, though."

Chuckling, he sipped at the cooling beverage in his hands as he mulled over the notion. He'd left for a run this morning, intent on doing nothing more interesting than catching up on homework and calling his family, and instead he'd ended up on a date with a pretty girl. Strange how the world worked sometimes, but not as strange as how some days just seemed to fall into place. At the mention of being potentially mauled by the waitress, noting the subsequent 'ogle', he took on a slightly thought-filled expression.

"True, and I figure if I'd want anyone clawing me to shreds, it should be someone appropriate...Trouble is, I just can't imagine who'd fit that..." he added, raising an eyebrow as he caught her eyes a moment later, the searing gaze making the thought in his mind quite clear before a wry smirk matched her own..

Sitting back she played with her drink for a bit longer grinning as he continued meeting his intense stare her grin in place getting just what he was playing at. Though of course it didn’t mean she couldn’t play as well.

“Hm,” she hummed thoughtfully her wry grin still holding, “then you better start looking harder for someone willing to claw you up. Being indecisive isn’t a good thing, ya know.”

Picking her drink up she took a long drink chewing a little on the small chunks that didn’t exactly get blended well but the fresh strawberries were good and not obtrusive in her mouth. Laughing a little she sat up a bit and leaned an elbow on the arm rest casually as she went on, “I mean you wouldn’t want to get caught up in a real man eater you’d more then likely be left with no legs to stand on, when she’s done with you.”

She continued to play coy like she didn’t get at all what he had originally meant, the twist in the conversation continuing to amuse and entertain her. Truthfully she was having a time with all this and she could see herself spending more time with Aroon after this and not minding one bit...even if it meant that she'd be working out more then what she usually did.

"True, but I believe the saying goes, 'Why buy a book when you can join the library..?', does it not?"

He flicked an eyebrow in amusement as he left that in the air for Aleece to turn over in her head, and idly tipped back the last of his coffee before setting the cup down on the saucer that had been served with it. Sighing quietly as the sweet, slightly bitter brew ran down his throat, he shifted in the chair to idly catch eyes with the dark haired girl sitting adjacent to him. The smile was inviting and certainly not lacking in the usual hint of his own....interest.

"But, I suppose you're right. After all, what good's a feisty one if I can't enjoy them more than once?", he added, running his fingers through his hair as he took a slow, deep breath. The notion of continuing this with Aleece for the rest of the day, simply to see where it would lead, was more than a little tempting. However, they'd been sitting for the best part of half an hour, and accounting time to return to the dormitories, he was almost loath to say what he did next.

"Say, do you want another one of those, or are you ready to head back?"

As the words left his lips, he palmed his wallet in his shorts pocket. If she wanted to stick around for another drink and some more of this bizarre, yet all at once entertaining conversation then he would simply catch the waitresses attention, if not, then he would just leave some money on the table to cover the drinks...

Aleece shook her head lightly at his reply and couldn’t help agree with him, on either account, but she held her tongue from anymore witty or biting comment she could have said to that. Instead she drained a little more of her smoothie finding it was getting to the bottom rather quickly and with a quick lick of her lips she looked back at Aroon when he asked if she wanted another…

Well she really would like to stay and continue this but she had things to do that didn’t consist of flirting over smoothies or eying up some half naked guy at a bistro. With a grin she pushed her drink away and shook her head.

“Unfortunately, I do have some stuff I’ve got to be doing…” she said with her smile still in place, obvious she would rather not have to do it. “I’m sure you’ve got to finish with your run or work out.”

And as interesting as this whole encounter has been she didn’t particularly feel like ruining a good thing. After all there was actually something as to much of fun time. “Wouldn’t want to keep you up in case you planned on running into any more scantly clad females and taking them to some equally nice and cozy little place you just happen to know of.”

With a small laugh Aleece quirked an eyebrow to let her teasing be known, not like anything so far hadn’t been far from joking or innuendos between them.

"Alright, then I'll get these paid for...." he said as he slipped the folded leather out, pulling a ten dollar bill and setting it underneath the cup for his coffee. That would prove more than sufficient for both the pay and a tip, though he inwardly mused that the waitress had already had enough 'extras' from him. He raised an eyebrow at Aleeces words, chuckling quietly.

"Of course, I couldn't very well leave my adoring public to fend for themselves, could I?" he quipped, shaking his head as he pushed his chair out and stood slowly, leaning back as he did so and stretching out the muscles in his back and shoulders with a few barely audible 'pops' from a few of the joints. He thought for a few minutes about what he would do, since he saw no reason to set back into his run, he considered walking out to one of the grocery stores and picking a couple of things up. When Aleece joined him and stood, he swept the chair aside and slid it back under the table. Though he could have walked her back to the Collective, he felt it would work more appropriately if he left her a little earlier, rather than appear to cling to the notion of being with her.

With a gesture to the waitress through the window that the money for the check was on the table, he turned to walk back the way they'd come, there being a blocks worth of mutual path they'd share before she would go one way back to the Collective, assuming she was headed there, and he the opposite into the centre of town. After a minute or two of simple pleasantries, no doubt interlaced with enough innuendo to leave him wound up for the rest of the day at any rate, he stopped and turned slightly to her, a short smile on his face.

"Well, thank you for joining me. It really was a pleasure, and I hope I did enough to keep you captivated?" he added, a raised eyebrow and knowing smirk as he reminded her of her earlier remark.

Aleece stood as well when she noticed Aroon as well and she felt distinctly bad that she didn’t’ have any money on her to pay for her own drink. After all she had plenty of money to do it…just none on her at the moment. But she kept her mouth shut quirked an eyebrow at him and grinned, stepping to the side. She was completely prepared to get back to her dorm on her own, he had proven to be indulgent enough already of her company and with a small laugh she shrugged a little.

“It’s been fun, that’s for sure,” she said biting her lip lighting and taking a couple steps back, “and we’ll see if today proved enough to captivate me if we ever run into each other again.”

Turning then she lifted a hand briefly and headed off getting the general direction, not minding that she was in for quite the walk home, since she didn’t intend to run anywhere anymore. Aleece could see herself becoming fast acquainted with the likes of Aroon, but she new it was the last thing she needed at the moment. With a sigh she tried not t think about that and just concerned herself with where she was going.
