Piper couldn't help but smile. "Habit, sir," she explains, and while she tries to relax, its obviously not an easy task.
"I had a question for you. I mean no offense by this, but as Director, I'm sure you've had your fair share of time on the field, yes?" After a moment, she blinked and added a quiet "sir."
"There have been times I've been unable to see who in fighting, either because they're too fast or turn invisible, but I haven't exactly lost my eyesight completely, yet."

She nodded thoughtfully. "I need to learn to fight blind. I need to compensate for my weaknesses, and I depend too much on my eyes."
She meshed her jaw together, teeth grinding ever so slightly. "And I need to learn to throw weapons. And a weapon that isn't my fist."
At this point, she was rambling. Her hands had balled into fists behind her back and her eyes cleared with determination. "I was doing some research. Maybe a bat or a bow staff," she said, mispronunciating the word. "Something to extend my reach, and something I can hit somebody with and not break my own bones."
Finally, she seemed to realize what she was doing. She shut her mouth with an audible snap of her teeth, and then quietly added, "Sir."
She couldn't help but chuckle and glanced away from him, nerves showing. "Ive been training. With Mathew Amtrum and Aaron Silverman. I know I am witty. I know my reflexes are better than most. I know most people can't hit me unless I let them, but..."
She trailed off for a moment.
"But Mathew Amtrum told me to list my weaknesses. Now. I want to make sure that I can better those. Maybe even turn them into strengths. I need to learn not to rush into things all of the time... And what to do when things go wrong."
"I have others, but I didn't want to bombard you with everything all at once." She said with a little chuckle. "I want to find a weapon, and I want to learn to master that weapon. I want to learn to throw things, like thin blades. I want to work with my other senses."
She paused for a moment, tilting her chin upwards slightly. "And I want to learn to be less predictable."
She gave him a single nod. "But I don't have the endurance to go with it. Punch something at sixty miles an hour, and I'll probably break a few bones." Despite herself, she gingerly rubbed her arm. Her bones were healed, but the memory still plagued her.
"With that speed, I'd personally go for something small so that it doesn't snag as you move, like daggers or small clubs, but as long as you work at it, a staff should work too."
Jack leans back, frowning thoughtfully.
"What did you want to work on first? It'll likely be best to focus on one thing at a time."
She paused a moment, thoughtfully, and finally shook her head. "I don't know. I should probably find and master a weapon for I go into blind fighting. I just don't know... What weapon."
"It's basically a flail. The version I was thinking of has three small staves joined by small links of chain, and you can use the parts of it as a club or spin them to build momentum."
"That much is pretty easy. I have a friend who does weapons development, replaces my equipment when I lose it or can't retrieve it. I could commission one for you or just buy it elsewhere."
