"The Nexus is the center of space and time, or something like that. While we wiped out the Legion that existed there, I assume there's other Legion's that exist."
Jack frowns.
"Or that robot was just lost in time in the first place, and never made it to the final battle."
"I was thinking the first one. There are probably plenty of universes where you failed and died. And if it knew my name that means I existed in the timeline with these robots. Which means they have my power."
And thus the potential for their own dimensional travel.
He shook his head. It was possible that it had just been lost in time and space. Or that time also wasn't in sync between dimensions. Which could work with his layer theory.
"Either way. I'm sure you gathered why I've been asking these questions."
He wasn't really looking for permission.
"I plan to explore my power and what it can do. I think it's important."
"No. Eliott is already making us gear for the trip. Masks and the like to scan for lifeforms I believe and atmosphere. Possibly propulsion and weapons. I've given her the rundown of the risks I know of. And I told her I would connect with her again after I poked around more."
He shrugged.
"You said alone you'd have died. I figured it was the same for me. And she is probably the smartest person I know." So who better to take?
Agent Young dropped in on my training today, and saw me doing the exercise you taught me. I managed to get it a little smaller than our first exercise together, before it started going out of control.
Anyway, she wanted to see if a shield of darkness I created could block one of the Empire's rifles. It couldn't. I don't know if my reserves were just drained or what, but it didn't work. Tried twice, no luck. I've blocked an energy shot before, at that rally at SIU, but I had a buff from Agent Fischer when that happened - so I know it's possible, but I need to be at an unspecified level of strength higher than my current one to do it. Maybe specific to the Empire's weapons? She pointed out their weapons are based off Chazz' powers (more about Chazz another time) so maybe they work differently. But light attacks seem to go right through too, and that doesn't make any sense to me - darkness is the absence of light, and when I create darkness I am forcibly removing or outright destroying light. Shouldn't I be able to counter light and beam attacks then? I'm not sure I have much of a handle on how it works, but I get the feeling this is something I can solve if I know what pieces are missing. If you don't mind, I thought I'd ask if you have any ideas? I know you're busy, but I thought it was worth a try.
Thank you again for your time, and I hope this email finds you well.
But then shouldn't anybody be able to beat my power by flipping a light switch? Which doesn't happen. Maybe I should ask someone in the tech department? I tend to look at this power from more of an artistic perspective but a scientific one might help with this issue.
I know this isn't really in your wheelhouse, but I figured if you didn't know, you'd probably know who does. Thank you again.

He probably has his full name as an automated email signature, rather than typing it every time.
Then normal light and metahuman light are clearly differeant things.
I could ask around the technological department, but I suspect you'll do better with training yourself rather than relying on other people's creations. The best advice I can give you is to think outside of the box.
Training's the plan, sir. Just trying to figure out what I'm looking at so I can address the problem. I'll ask around, and if you'd be willing to also obviously I'd be grateful.
Outside the box - I have other strategies than brute force to deal with these things, but I want to figure out if I can do it. Still, if I keep at training to become more powerful in general, maybe I'll be strong enough eventually.
Also: Been doing that ball exercise every day since you showed it to me. I forgot to ask, but what happens when I can get it into my palm? What next?
All right. I'll come up with a move or something when I get to that point (Kamehameha?). Guess I wasn't sure how to keep pushing my reserves once I could get it all into my palm. Or speed, I can work on getting it all there but faster, making my power work harder to get the same result but quicker. I'll keep training.
