She was leaning against the doorframe by the time Becca opened the door, having been snowed on during her walk over. She looked tired... In fact, she apparently looked half dead.
That thought still brought a half smile to her face.
"Hey, guys," she said with a little wave. "I just came to say good-bye."
"You know, everybody keeps saying stuff like that," she said with a little laugh. She hadn't gotten any sleep since the incident with Jim, and how long had that been? Too many days.
She just needed some time to wrap up everything.
Piper even spared a glance towards the portal, giving a shake of her head. "No tricks, man. I'm too tired to fight." And that was true. She wandered into their pod, oblivious to the snow on her clothes.
"It's kind of true." Rebecca responds by fetching more towels! She tosses one to Eric and nods at the chocolate-stained sofa and hands another to Piper so she can clear off the snow.
"You want anything? Something warm?" She gestures to one of the chairs or non-stained sofa, whichever Piper felt like sitting on. There was definitely something up.
She waved them both off. "Guys," she said, trying to sound serious. "I'm okay. I'm just... going back to Australia for a little while."
She took the towel, draping it around her shoulders and sitting on the couch. She didn't mind if either of them sat next to her... In fact, a part of her really wanted one of them to.
"Jim's dead. We don't know for how long, but... he's dead." It felt so good to say it.
With Eric sitting on one side of Piper, Becca takes the other, though her frown lessens at the news.
"That's great, Piper." She smiles for her friend's sake. "But why go back to Australia?" Was it to stop running away, like they'd spoken about? She didn't want to go into the details with Eric there, however. She didn't know how much was okay to share, or if they had talked much.
The tired girl tried laughing, but it almost sounded like a cough. She shook her head. "Not Jim," she said softly to him, before glancing back to Becca.
"I'm just... tying up loose ends. You guys all made me realize something... but I can't... really be home, unless everything back there is settled. I'm tired of the confusion, the back and forth. I want to be done with this, once and for all. And then I can come home again."
She would reach out without really thinking, trying to place a gentle hand upon Rebecca's. It was a friendly gesture, one of gratitude.
"You're going to make yourself sick at this rate." Rebecca frowns but lets the hand rest on top of hers when it happens, squeezing it with her thumb. After a moment, her expression relaxes. She dones't really know all that much about Jim because Piper hasn't talked about him much to her at all. But she knows enough to put a name to the mystery person in her friend's life who caused her so much pain.
"Well, that sounds like it's a good thing. You sure you'll be okay?"
He frowns but doesn't say anything. He wasn't one to talk about what was possible when it came to Meta Powers. And he wasn't going to just throw advice at her unasked.
She offered Eric a half-smile. In part, she thought to tell him because he lived with Becca. In part, because he was somebody that did really help to wake her up.
"And you might have to come up with a new nickname for me, Captain. I don't think I'm keeping the green."
Rebecca catches the look and glances at Piper with a slight nod.
"That might be best. If you think so, Piper?" It was her friend's call on this one, considering it was a personal matter, but she didn't want Eric to feel like a third wheel, either.
She laughed slightly. "Sorry, Eric," she said, waving a bit. "I guess I didn't realize how tired I am."
She looked between her two friends before her eyes finally settled on Eric again. "Hey, Captain, why don't I catch you up when I get back? Is that fair? I'll probably have gotten sleep by then." She tried to wink, but she looked tired even doing that. "I'll even let you come up with a new name for me then. No arguments."
"Later." Rebecca smirk and raises a hand, then drops it once the portal closes and Eric vanishes from sight. She turns to Piper, raising a brow at her friend's vague comments.
"Alright. Girl time. You're leaving to tie up loose ends. I'm guessing that's your mom, right?" She keeps her voice low, since Eric's only in the other room.
