Sarah made sure that all of the other rounds had been made. She checked in on the people she needed to talk to and then spent some time away, dealing with... people. It was irritating. She didn't really want to think about everything she had dealt with. It was... tiring.
Finally, it was time. Screw all the drama. Just get everything out of the way. She knocked on Eric's door, but didn't wait for him to answer. She pushed the door open and leaned against the frame. "Hey, Captain," she said, preparing for some kind of lecture or coldness.
She wasn't sure if Aaron had talked to him, but with the way it all sounded... yeah. Not good.
His well practiced smile for visitors and well wishers faltered the moment that Piper walked in the door. He felt a stab in his heart and the sensation of his stomach falling. He felt so used, and seeing how Aaron had taken the news... He felt like a shitty person.
"How's the arm?"
He'd ask, though his tone lacked a lot of it's normal energy.
"It's an arm," she said with a shrug. She had avoided the doctors as much as possible, only allowing them to clean the burns and give her some ointment to put on it.
Her eyes widened for a moment and she stared at him, but he wouldn't see guilt across her face.
"Okay, woah. First off, where the hell did you hear THAT? Months?" She gave a very firm shake of her head. "I don't even know if it IS a relationship, Eric. And I don't know, if it is, when it became one. It's kind of been a whirlwind."
"Well you should talk to Aaron, cause he is pretty torn up and from how he tells it, you two have been very much in love and had a clearly laid out framework for the relationship. And I'm not really sure what we were then."
He normally was fine without labels, preferred it really. But with this, he just felt used.
"I have no clue what we were, Eric..." She actually sounded... almost sad about that. "But I didn't use you. You weren't some plot device to help me figure everything out. And I am going to talk to Aaron, again... I'm just waiting for him to work things out with Angel first."
"I think you gotta figure out what you two were before you can figure out anyone else. Because what I'm hearing from both of you so far isn't lining up. You two clearly have different ideas of where your commitments were."
