The hunt begins! Lucien has gone straight from his conversation with Jack to Paradigm's archives, and is currently at one of the terminals, pulling up all the most recent Paradigm field reports considering activities against the Empire, looking for anything that might be of interest. Any time the Empire's seemed to know in advance what the agents would be doing, any time something has been brought back or has happened that seemed unusual.

Well, unusual by Paradigm standards. Everything about all this would be unusual by the standards of 20 years ago.

There haven't been too many strange occurrences of the Empire seeming to be ahead of Paradigm, but there are a few times Paradigm agents have brought back Chthonic technology.

The robot is one that has been re-purposed by Eliot Knight after it tried to kill Paradigm agents that met with it, as it was assigned as the ambassador from the Chthonic Empire.

It was, quite obviously, a trap.

There are several reports of the robot being active at the academy! One in which it brought Mike Daniels into the infirmary after having injured him in Tutorial!
