Eric was pretty much packed for his trip back home to see his folks and was just enjoying the last couple of days he had left in Chicago. Which in this case meant he was lounging about in the campus since it was a nice day out. Just chilling on a bench looking over at the campus his fingers twirling to the music that was playing in his MP3 player, headphones securely in place.
Evie was dancing around outside on the campus, her hair swirling around her in blurry orange. She loved the cold and was so excited for it to be so close to Christmas.
She was humming some carol she had learned when she was young, but didn't sing it out loud.
Laughing, she came to a stop and threw her hands into the air, glad she could just be silly after all of the stress she had taken on. And at least no one was around to witness it.
Well, except Eric that was. He'd grin to himself as he watched Evie dance through the campus, an unusual sight, but charming. He could dig seeing other people unwind and just let loose without being so self conscious and serious all the time. He'd pop his headphones out of his ears and with a small wiggle of his fingers he'd point over to her. The space above her ripping open as snow started to fall from the portal on top of her.
When the snow started to fall, the tiny girl jumped back, a moment of shock crossing her face. What happened? She knew it wasn't supposed to snow.
A quick glance around and her heart settled. Eric. It was only snowing over her, and for some reason, that made her smile. She gave a little half-spin, turning her face up to the snow.
Eve laughed excitedly and stuck her tongue out, oblivious to what portal - snow might do to her.
For a short time, she stared up at the sky in the rip, comparing it for moment to the sky just on the other side of the rip. The color was different. It wasn't just the snow.
"I'm great!" She said, finally turning her attention back to Eric, her face lit up. "Can this follow me? Or do I need to stay here?" She pointed up to the snow falling on her.
He'd keep a hand extended in her direction, ripping open portal after portal to keep the snow falling with her, his brows furrowing in concentration as he followed her with the portals until it was just snowing over the two of them.
"Just chillin'." He'd say with a wink, leaning back against her. "You?"
