"Some of them I can say for sure, others I don't have their contact info - so I've gone looking for them, tried to get in contact, but haven't had much luck. If you brought any of them in they'd say they haven't had any issues with me lately though."
Partly because he's been avoiding some, and others haven't replied to any of his attempts to reach out
"Please, sir. You're going to need every meta you can get your hands on, out there. And I can't just sit here, knowing so many people are suffering and dying."
Besides, he wasn't having issues with that many agents anyway.
Aaron pauses, unsure how to answer it. What counts as 'issues'? There's people he doesn't like, but serious beef is pretty limited. And issues to the point it would hinder a mission? He's unsure if he has an answer to that one.
"This is going to sound like a weird question, but I'm not messing with you. What would you say is an issue? There's nobody I have such an issue with I'd be completely unable to work with them."
"With some of them, I'm not sure there is an issue outside of my own head. Eric Phillips, for example - the more I think about him the less I like him. If you asked me why, I'd be here talking at you all day. But I can work with him - and I will, to protect people. I'd take a bullet for him, or anyone, if I had to; whether I like him or not, I joined Paradigm because I care about people, and want to help and protect them. My own feelings aren't important there."
What he won't do is take orders from that smug bat-faced SOB. But Jack doesn't need to know that.
"There's, um, there's also... you know, my girlfriend. Sarah."
Is she? He wants her to be, thinks of them as together, but look at what's happened. He wants to be with her more than almost anything, but that doesn't matter if she treats him like he doesn't even exist. A relationship takes two people willing to make an effort.
"I genuinely have no idea what's up there, but I'm trying. I forgave her for how she hurt me a long time ago, or, you know, I think I did. I just want her to give me a chance, to acknowledge I'm worth talking to at least, especially with what's coming. If the worst happens to one of us, I don't want my last memory of her being her cheating on me then going completely MIA or whatever's happening. I've actually been looking for her since I heard your announcement."
About halfway through that last, the calm face he's showing Jack starts to crack. But he'd said man up, be confident. Heroes don't cry.
Eric opens the door after giving Sarah a confused look. Was she called too? The confusion just got stronger when he saw Aaron in the office, until it clicked and he put two and two together.
"Sir...? Is there an issue?"
He'd hold the door open for Sarah before entering himself. Shutting the door behind them.

He'd changed out of his workout clothes between Mr. Amtrum's office and the Director's, and back into his outfit from before - Sarah'd see the watch and blazer she got him. He's also obviously not looking well - dark circles under his eyes might be spotted, faintly, and it might be noticed that he looks a bit thinner, as if he hasn't been paying as much attention to his eating habits lately. Still, he lets them both come in, giving Sarah the best smile and wave he can manage.
...Eric gets an icy expression, as if Aaron is holding back something nasty. He also visibly cringes at how Sarah looks at him!

"Don't look at me like that. This wasn't my idea."
As happy as he is to see Sarah actually still exists, it's pure agony that this is how to draw her out of hiding. All the calls, emails, texts, knocks on the door ignored. Only coming up and acknowledging him when the Director makes her. His voice is full of that pain, especially when she gives him that look again.
"I want to talk to both of you, about everything, but not like this. One on one, today. Before we all go off to risk our lives. Please."
He'd shake his head at Aaron and turn to face the Director.
"I only have on issue, which I thought we talked about but nothing seemed to change since I was hospitalized. I can't trust him on the field. In the Home of Wayward Metas he disobeyed my orders. At the bank heist I named my team to go with me and he showed up while we were engaging the targets and just went full in heedless of what anyone else was doing. And then when we are stranded outside of the timeline him and several others vanished without a trace leaving the rest of us to deal with Billy the Kid when he came to attack us and the town with high tech weaponry. He is reckless and unreliable and I just can't trust that any order I give him will be taken seriously, no matter the consequences to myself, the team, or those we are trying to protect. He is a liability. Sir."
