He continues his forebears momentum, expecting the block! He takes the uppercut which was not ideal, but his left hand pulls at the knee of Bahram's lead leg as he pushes against the forearm for a knee tap takedown where he'd send a punch for Bahram's face while standing over him.
Bahram's forearms would guard his face as he hit the ground. With his left leg in Matt's grip, he'd drive his right heel into Matt's left hip to push him back.
"I can't even get myself in check right now," he responds through mild anger and denial.
He takes the kick, but doesn't get pushed all the way back as he keeps his grip on the left leg. He pulls himself back in by it, circling around the outside to pass the guard as he throws another punch on his way down to side control position.
As he pulls himself in by the left leg, Bahram stomps his right foot toward Matt's left shoulder to keep him back and out of face-punch range.
"It's two headaches with half the effort," he frowns, continuing to push and free himself. If Matt continues to circle around, Bahram will adjust his positioning with his elbows. He knows he fucked up, though.
"The sad thing is I think that, by doing this, I'll be proving you wrong."
Bahram reacted to the fake, attempting a parry. As Matt went for the knee bar, he triangled his right leg over his left ankle, pulling it back so that Matt could not get the hug in. Leaning forward, he'd send a right hook at Matt's exposed ribs.
"Don't expect me to give myself any at all after a Jr. Agent got shot under my watch, Matt."
Bahram pulls on Matt's top knee to give his leg some wiggle room, and pulls it while kicking at the inside of Matt's bottom leg to try and get out of the submission before it happens.
Bahram scrambles backward as Matt came forward, sweeping his legs backward so he can push forward on the balls of his feet against Matt's forward motion. It isn't ideal, but he'll get out of the hold and have a chance for recovery, if he can keep it up.
"And that's the problem."
Bahram shoots a right straight for Matt's face as he continues to try and gain some distance!
Matt stops short so he doesn't get punched, allowing Bahram time and distance to get back up. The second he would though Matt has a quick snap kick aimed for his stomach!
"I should at least be able to -" Bahram gets kicked right in the stomach and stumbles back! "- Ugh. Prevent these things from happening. That's what I was getting at."
Bahram raises his right knee as though he's going to throw a snap kick, but quickly lowers it and shoots one out with his left foot instead, aimed for Matt's right shin.
Bahram was thrown off by the lack of returned dialogue and is successfully tackled! Though he throws a right gloved punch for Matt's face as they fall!
Bahram blocks one of the punches with his left forearm, but the other nabs him in the face! Nowhere for it to fly!
"And I get that," he says as he throws a right hook for Matt's left cheek, while simultaneously trying to wrap his legs around Matt's waist and forcing all of his weight to the right to get the top position.
"But that's where I failed the first time. The inevitable round two can't be the same."
"I think we both know that it easily could," he pauses as he's rolled over, pushing both hands into the hips of Bahram to lift him off of him as he slides under him to escape.
"You misunderstand." Matt slips out, but Bahram sneaks a jab at his stomach in the meantime! "When I say it can't, it's more along the lines of something my pride cannot afford."
It sounds like a petty reason, but he means he's not willing to let the students down like that again.
