"Well I was going to see what your final product would be. I kind of thought you'd tweak things between then and now. And it's not like I can't get us food and water."
"Okay. Point taken. Uhhhh let's see. Purple sky. Mars like ground. Killer robot that apparently shouldn't exist there. That can replicate Meta abilities. Unknown giant monsters. As far as I know no vegetation or water. Or non killer animals? So no clue what the monsters eat to live, there can't be that many people going to this dimension. Right?"
He tried to think if there was anything else.
"I dunno. I guess I'm a little more worried about other dimensions now that I think about it. Rather than the Nexus. I mean Director Gavyns has been there twice and he made it out fine."
"One of them. It was when they went to the future. They ended up fighting the Prime Legion there as Legion tried to destroy all of organic life. I don't think he encountered giant monsters though."
It wasn't in the file.
"Just a lot of robots. But when the timeline was erased it was all fixed up."
"Well so far I've been able to pull out objects from my portals. But I have to concentrate or at least have an idea of what I want. It doesn't even have to be something that I know a lot of either."
He'd demonstrate by opening up a portal and pulling out a paper. With Eliott's phone number on it. He'd hand her the paper for her to see.
"When I do this though, I don't really feel anything other than what I'm grabbing. Not like a table to pull a plate off of or anything like that. Which means it's possible that there is a dimension where things are generated. But I can also retrieve specific objects, I've tested this a few times already. And I can influence things like the temperature. So I can alter the state of the object as well. At least to some degree."
He hadn't tried anything beyond temperature changes.
"So we know for a fact that I can open portals in our reality, and the Nexus. Possibly this theoretical dimension as well. We also know for a fact that there are further dimensions out there. And that the portals I open don't need to be next to me. So I started thinking that what if the way we perceive our world and others are wrong. Even time. What if distance and time are not linear but rather stacked. And between each layer of the stack what if there are further layers of possible outcomes?"
He was surprised that she didn't outright dismiss it, and despite himself he took it as praise. She didn't seem the type to praise more blatantly than she just had.
