"Yeah? If you can't quite make it, at least try to grab the ledge."
That's her helpful advice as she backs up then sprints forward and hops across to the other building. She tumbles forward to lessen the impact of her landing once she's across, turning around to grin at Murdoch.
The nervous tone in his voice was more apparent, but with Jan Di making it look so easy, he thought he'd be able to do it!
He back up before running into a sprint! Once he reaches the edge, he'd leap forward, looking down as he crossed the gap in the air! On landing, he'd lose his footing and topple forward onto the second roof.
Jan Di is almost surprised! This was a lot more than most people were comfortable with doing in one day.
Or maybe that had just been her as she was learning.
"Uhhh. Okay then!"
Jan Di would grin before hopping onto the very ledge of the building and start running for the next one. It was a taller building, so they'd need to climb. But it was also under construction so they'd be landing on some beams! Jan Di would hop over first, just to show him how it's done. She'd land on the beam before grabbing onto a vertical one to keep steady.
Jan Di watches to make sure he doesn't fall. If it looks like he's fine, she'll start climbing the vertical beam, using the supports like with the drain pipe.
Murdoch would follow behind, climbing up the drain pipe. His muscles were starting to get tired, and he continued to sweat, but he had the motivation to power through it!
After several minutes of just climbing, they'd finally reach the highest support beam, and Jan Di would step onto it. She'd extend her arms out to keep balances as she walked along the beam like a tight rope walker, giving Murdoch space to get on as well.
They were at least five stories high at this point.
"And this is the best part, Murdoch." she say glancing out at the city.
Murdoch makes it up, and starts trying to keep his balance. Once he looks down at the view, he gets a short sense of vertigo and begins to wobble! Extending his arms, he manages to keep himself balanced!
"It's definitely breathtaking." He comments as he starts to scour the horizon. "It gives you an entirely different perspective."
"If Mathew ever asks, please let him know I did this." she laughs.
"But hey, it's no problem. That's what we're supposed to do. One day it'll be up to your generation, so me 'n the other seniors gotta set a good example."
