The spy saw to her own wounds, all of which were minor, and set her stuff where it needed to go before abandoning the idea of wandering about. She had people to see, first.
Wondering if they even knew that she was there, she headed to the good doctor's office first. Giving a knock on the door, having to focus to make sure she made any kind of noise, she waited to be welcomed in to her office.
Of course, she noted the name change, but hey. Whatever. Maybe she left Jack.
"That's very generous of you." Absinthe chuckles, moving out of the doorway so that Venus could come in rather than just stand at the door.
"It's good to see you again, I'm sure you'll be great help. We recently received a wave of new students. They could probably use some guidance in the intel department."
She stepped into the office, a brow cocking over one eye. The first person she talks to threatens her about the students... the second seems perfectly fine having her deal with them.
"A new wave, huh?" she says, flopping down, silently, into the plush chair. She crossed one leg over the other. "How are they doing?"
"They're doing well. Their grandmother is staying with us at the moment so they've been pretty excitable. We've also been considering letting our oldest start becoming an agent trainee."
Still up for discussion of course.
"Actually, I haven't really been spreading the news yet, but there's another on the way."
It took her a solid second to understand what she meant by that. Venus wasn't exactly the "married with kids" type - she had other things on her mind - and it didn't occur to her that the Makaila's would have so many kids... and still be going.
Surprise showed on her face and it took her a moment to respond. "Congrats? Was it a planned thing?" She chuckled, giving a shake of her head. "Never mind. Of course it was planned. Congrats, Abby."
"Not yet, but there's a lot of time for that. If anything, I don't think it would be too much trouble to take the baby with me if we can't find someone."
She's not THAT busy all the time.
"As for Jack, I don't think he'll take time off but you never know. He's got different priorities than most."
"Why did he take on those responsibilities?" she asked, honestly curious, as she relaxed her posture and leaned back in the seat.
People had tried convincing her to get a desk job, saying they should leave things to the new generation... but she had refused. She was still a field agent at heart, and she enjoyed her job. Why anyone would take that sort of responsibility, she didn't know.
Why someone would want to be DIRECTOR of all things confused her even more.
