Nereyn, finds herself aboard a diplomatic vessel. She's been assigned a small guard and is supposed to meet in neutral space with the Yemme, another race the Viperas have been in a bit of a cold war with for some time. She has two personal guard and a pilot.
Nereyn drums her fingers on the armrest and swishes her tail around absent-mindedly. She briefly recites the notes her mother had given her on the Yemme and the history between their people.
What were they again?

A military race. Known conquerors that work for the "collective good." Yemme tend to get in the Viperas way of trading quite often, but have never invaded as the living conditions are not suitable for them.
"Because you are of Royal blood you highness. It is your duty." Scruux, her longtime bodyguard states with a low bow.
"Vipera 'Empire' is generous. We are galaxy wide. You are, what, a planet and two moons? We have never invaded because your land does nothing to benefit us. Should you however stand in our way, whats to stop us from simply blowing you from existence?"
"Major. I'm almost offended!" she chuckles airily with a flicker of her forked tongue. "You assume our strength lies in the territory we have conquered by force."
The Major wasn't incorrect, the Vipera occupy a single planet with a handful of moons and they were a relatively peaceful nation. However, they were a diplomatic bunch. Forming ties here and there, sending spies here and there...
"Well, you shouldn't be. It's not a threat, just an observation. I'm not the most aggressive in the collective, but you should see reason here. If you don't offer payment, why would the Yemme Fatherbox allow trade?"
"I see our current situation as mutually beneficial. We are in your routes as much as you are in ours. If we are to offer payment, my nation would expect the same in return. What are the terms you would be willing to agree to?"
"Me? Oh, I'd say it would be fair for both of us to use it freely. However, the Fatherbox would say it would only take one Warship to destroy your planet to prove a point that all must pay the Yemme Republic."
"Like I said, its not a threat, just a mere statement of facts."
He waves his hand, and his personal guard move to block the door, Scrux clutches his spear tighter as he moves by her.
"A threat would be more like 'you will remain in our custody until the King agrees to these demands. We could obliterate your entire race, but this would be much easier."
"He has many children, what's one less. I was only assigned one ship and bodyguard, how important could I possibly be? I am simply a messenger with a title."
Nereyn moves towards the guards blocking the door and signals for Scrux to follow suit.
"I think we've concluded negotiations for today. Send us a transmission when Fatherbox is ready to truly negotiate instead of circling around the fact that you will obliterate our planet."
With Falzo yelling, her attention turns back to the armed guards.
Nereyn holds her arms above her head to block the hit. Simultaneously, she uses her tail to reach for the fallen soldier. If she was able to reach one of his limbs, she'll tighten her tail around it and swing him into the standing guard!
