~Appearance~

Physical:

 • Head: Aroon has a generally 'statuesque' look about him, with a sharp, chiselled jawline that tapers neatly into the rest of his face, high cheekbones without pulling his face into a gaunt expression, a straight-ridged nose and unpierced ears, lobed and average in size, with the entire ensemble framed with a neatly controlled head of black hair, cropped at the sides and poker-straight. His neck has a slight amount of corded muscle, but is neither bulky nor strained by it.

 • Torso: Toned and trim, without any obvious bulk anywhere on his central frame, he has faintly prominent pectorals with a non-defined stomach, though when he flexes his muscles, the outline of a 'washboard' is much more obvious. The nature of his Muay training means the muscles around the sides of his ribs are quite well-formed in consideration of the stances taken, with arms raised, and this extends round to the lower areas of his floating ribs as well. His collarbones and shoulders are quite defined, the two 'pads' of muscle from the bottom of the neck to the shoulder joint clearly visible, and the same goes for his back, with simple, rigorously worked trim throughout his body to put a slight but highly dense padding around him.

 • Arms: Slim and slightly toned, the muscles in Aroons arms are most suitably described as 'wiry'. the muscles are clearly visible, but certainly not as defined or bulky as, say, a boxers would be. This slight ridge of muscle is surprisingly dense, however, and as a result of training is clearly built for defensive purpose as well as speed, able to take a hit without much ill-effect or 'deadening' of the limbs. The muscles in his triceps are most defined, as the focal point of the speed in his limbs for quick elbow strikes, to which the skin at his elbows is thicker and rougher than that of the rest of the limb.

 • Hands: Slightly calloused (though far from being leathery), with mildly longer than normal digits, his knuckles protrude slightly when his fists are balled up, making them solid impact zones.

 • Legs: By far his most defined area, his legs are still quite slim, but packed with dense, powerful muscles all over, the most notable being his quadriceps and his iliops resulting in the superb speed he has in his legs. As with the rest of his body, these areas are worked carefully to get the maximum output from the lowest quantity, so as to get as much strength as possible into them without slowing him down. His shins and knees are utterly solid, and in particular the central bone of his shin is conditioned, as with his elbows, to be able to withstand obscene amounts of force with minimal detriment.

 • Feet: As with his hands, he has slightly longer than normal toes, not uncommon for someone who spends a lot of their time barefoot or close to it (as he does in his Muay training) as the muscles in the foot shift around the heel and toe areas, and the soles of his feet are quite heavily layered with thicker skin as a result. In an obviously developing pattern, the top of his foot is conditioned to absorb impact well, though with his fighting style tending to land kicks with the shin, for a more solid striking area, they aren't quite as durable.

Clothing: Coming from a country where the average temperature was a little higher than the norm in San Diego, even in the peak of summer, he tends to over-dress a little to compensate for what he deems 'the cold'. In that regard, atop jeans and shirts of whatever variety takes his fancy for the day, he'll normally have at least a zipper-hooded sweater and a jacket of some sort. Dressing in layers, of course, making it easier for him to control his temperature if it rises or falls. He prefers lighter colours, with the exception of a dark pair of running shoes he favours, not comfortable in heavier footwear. He doesn't wear any form of jewellery aside from a watch, a silver/platinum TAG Heuer that was a gift for his sixteenth birthday.

Eye color: Slightly rounded and quite lightly set in his face, the iris' are very dark brown, the colour able to blend into the pupil in less than full light. The white of his eye, in contrast, is brilliant white and striking against the darkness of his iris and pupil

Hair: Black, short and cropped at the sides, usually around an inch of length, tapering up to slightly longer locks, though nothing is more than a few inches at most, kept well-trimmed and groomed. Usually tousled or spiked in some capacity. Aroon has no distinguishable facial hair, though if he neglects to shave, a dark, full stubble will begin to show itself.

Personality: To get inside Aroons head, you first have to know two primary things about the young man. Firstly, he's afflicted with a condition known as Low Latent Inhibition. This, in a nutshell and without going into overt detail, means that his brain works overtime processing incoming stimuli. He takes in everything he sees, and not just at face value. Every aspect of it will be analysed in his mind, down to the last detail. Combine this with an egocentric, competitive attitude, and Aroon, as a result of these, is driven almost compulsively to win at anything he attempts, and in turn, he tends to win. Often. His egocentric nature isn't an outward arrogance, more of an inward acknowledgement to himself that he's generally just superior to the people around him. Despite this, he can display a 'normal' attitude to people and does make efforts to be friendly from time to time. More than anything, quite simply, he's not a bad person, just a self-assured one and, as such, has a few unfavourable traits as a result of it. In contrast to this, thankfully, he has in his possession a particularly dry and sharp sense of humour that more often than not can ‘smooth’ the initial abrasiveness of his arrogance into what can be at worst described as a ‘smart-ass’ attitude, and at best a friendly joker, though the former is much more common to occur than the latter.

Hobbies: Has a penchant for photography, and as such carries a digital camera with him most of the time. Also, as noted, he competes quite frequently in Muay Thai tournaments around the California area, and is due to compete in a few national tournaments in the coming year

Habits: As a result of his low latent inhibition, Aroon is quite a restless individual and often has his attention focused on something or another, be it something of his own volition, a book or suchlike, or something in his general surroundings that he will sit and break down in his head. Consequently, he writes and sketches often, putting the things that come into his mind onto paper so that in periods of slightly lesser clarity, he can refer to them at a later date, something that benefits him greatly during classes along with a very sharp memory. His condition also can cause a slight ‘spacing out’ effect when he is put into a particularly tense situation as he reviews everything he’s taking in, and his rationale is particularly reflexive at such times, making him not quite jumpy, but a little more on-edge than is common.

~Important Details~

History: The younger of two brothers, Aroon was born into a comfortable life in Bangkok. Both he and his older brother enjoyed the fruits of hard labour in their childhood, wanting for nothing and being something of a carefree pair of boys in their respective younger years, though those formative years would be the only easy ones either would have.

Their parents, fiercely committed workers who built everything they owned from the ground up, strove to instil the same ethics in their children, and in that regard, once the boys reached school age, the 'childish' natures were quickly, but gently, removed from them. As young children, they were brought into a harsh ethic of hard work and commitment to their labours, pushed to excel in everything they did. Though neither of the boys would know the difference, they were at least in such a situation that this ethic was put onto them in a careful manner as opposed to a brash one, and as a result, both embraced it without much problem. By the time they were seven, both boys had tutors for mathematics and literature, being taught work well beyond their years and grasping it with surprising capability. Alongside this, each had the opportunity to 'choose' a physical activity or two to balance out their academic efforts. Kasem, the older of the two boys, opted to play lacrosse and soccer, whereas Aroon opted solely for Muay Thai. Unlike his older brother, Aroon had little interest in team sports, and chose the intensive Thai boxing classes as a simple alternative where he could focus instead on himself, without having to be bothered by 'team-mates', and consequently devote his attentions to the competitive Muay Thai tournaments found in Bangkok.

Years passed with little notable event, and both boys grew into fine young men. They attended good schools, bolstered with home-tutoring in their 'spare time', with Kasem competing in various tournaments and leagues for both his lacrosse and soccer, scouts frequently attending his games in what would be fruitless efforts to sign him, and Aroon participating in every competition available for his Muay Thai. Naturally gifted for it with his build, light and lithe, he did well and exceeded at it, winning almost every category he competed in through the years with little effort, displaying an unnatural method to his fighting that would eventually come to be questioned by his parents, curious at the skill the young man showed even with the intensity of his training. Logically, whilst they were proud that he so excelled at what he was doing, they had an inkling that something wasn't entirely...right.

Along the way, certain aspects of Aroons actions began to arise and draw attention from his parents. He would pore over everything he saw, read or was shown, slowing down his teaching as he slipped into almost catatonic states to analyse things that grabbed his focus, and this spread right the way across anything he did. Education, his training, even his personal life...The boy quickly began to display a nature that troubled his parents, and psychologists were consulted to make a more accurate observation on the young man. In time, with various tests being conducted, it was eventually discerned that Aroon suffered from a condition known as Low Latent Inhibition. This, they were informed, did not necessarily pose a problem, as each individual with the condition was affected by it differently, though with a main common factor affecting it being IQ. Those with higher IQ's tended to be more able to 'accustom' to the condition and function with it, whereas a lower IQ could, in many cases, cause the afflicted party to display further mental illness. Inadvertantly, it would seem, the upbringing Aroon had been given, with the rigorous study, had been able to prepare the young man for this mentally, and his already existing interest in the arts further proved a benefit, allowing him a channel. As such, over time and with mild medication for the first few years of his diagnosis, he began to shift into a more 'normal' pattern of stability in his mental activity. His almost savant-like observation, however, began to be employed in his favour and he absorbed things far faster than he had before, flying ahead of his brother in terms of intelligence and, with the same application to his Thai boxing, combat skill.

With the speed at which be started to learn his art, Aroons teachers decided to take his lessons one step beyond the normal regimen given to a Muay Thai student and began to instruct him in an older style, Muay Boran. As the style which would give rise to Muay Thai, it was often used in training as 'advanced' Muay Thai classes for people who gained exceptional talent in the art, something which became apparent Aroon indeed possessed.

Thus, things progressed in this manner for a few more years, before a change presented itself. In an effort to increase their holdings, when he was sixteen, Aroons parents made the decision to travel overseas to California. His father intending to open a couple of new clubs and his mother aiming to branch out in her photography further, Kasem would make the choice to remain in Bangkok. Now twenty, he was competing at a professional capacity for his soccer and had commitments to his team that he couldn't break. As such, only Aroon would travel over with his parents, taking residence in San Diego and receiving home-schooling in order to strengthen his English and prepare him for the changes into an American school system. After a successful year, his parents have garnered similar success in their business endeavours in the United States, his father has a couple of gyms running well in addition to his others back in Bangkok, his mother has frequent publications in magazines and has hosted a few exhibits of her works, and Aroon resumed his Muay Boran training in a new Muay Thai gym, quickly displaying his superiority over the majority of the other students in the classes with his ability and knowledge of the more advanced style. Eventually, as a result, he began to compete in amateur tournaments, winning those in the same manner as he did before.

In order to get some form of competition, Aroon recently petitioned the organisers of the tournaments to allow him to compete at a higher grade than his age would normally permit. Despite providing evidence showing that he could do so without any risk to himself, he was refused this option, and now has set his sights on having that ruling overturned. Of course, this will mean that somewhere along the line, someone may have to be hurt in the process...Along with a unanimous decision that he should begin attending a regular school again, changes are afoot for the young man. Having pushed his application for the Chula Vista collectives John C. Fremont high school, he awaits approval and subsequent attendance with a silent anticipation…

Fighting Style: Muay Thai kickboxing, Muay Boran, the stylistic predecessor to Muay Thai, and Muay Koshasan, otherwise known as Jaturongkabaht. All arts possess similarities in their execution, with heavy emphasis on aggressive attack patterns with elbow and knee strikes, and the primary stances adopted for both are almost completely identical. However, there are subtle differences, as such:

 • Muay Thai (11 years experience): Most simply described as a more 'showy' style, with the longer, powerful kicking techniques and the clinch-combat ethic not quite as present in Muay Boran, used to bring fighters into a weaker posture and execute close-range blows with the elbows and knees. Muay Thai was the first style Aroon learned from his instructors.

 • Muay Boran (Pahuyut) (4 years experience): A true 'killing fist' style borne of deadly efficiency, Muay Boran puts its centre in executing all attacks at maximum speed and strength with the aim to incapacitate or, indeed, -kill- the opponent as quickly as possible with the logic that another opponent may already be set to attack. Sudden and swift, it is much more centrally based on the close-range combat of elbow and knee strikes, with a much smaller focus on the clinching and other strikes.

 • Muay Koshasan (Jaturongkabaht) (4 years experience): A destructive style of joint-destroying movements, more a subtext that Aroon has been taught along with Muay Boran. It's primary actions focus on smooth, flowing captures of the wrists, elbows or ankles during attacks, even if taking that attack is required, and applying a sudden force in the worst direction for that joint. Simple and vicious, it was taught to the Royal Guard of Thailands kings hundreds of years ago for its speed in crippling foes.

Aroon, however, is something of an anomaly in the fact that he has a very cerebral method of combat, willing and without a doubt able to use the aggressive attack skills ingrained into him through training, he instead puts more concentration on a somewhat defensive focus, exploiting his opponents mistakes and then, in that small gap, unleashing a ferocious retaliation when his opponent is less defensive than they would be in their conventional stance. He favours the Muay Boran and Koshasan techniques, finding the close range basis to be more efficient in the long-term, and isn't entirely averse to the clinch-combat against opponents within his size bracket.

Strengths: In the simplest answer? He's fast. To be more precise, he's phenomenally quick on his feet and in evasive movement, with his low latent inhibition adding an extra edge to it as he can decipher, analyse (and with a little luck on his side, occasionally correctly predict) his opponents actions at a much faster rate than most fighters. In a close-quarters skirmish, he's at his most dangerous with his favouring towards strikes that require little transition to increase their connecting strength, in other words meaning up close, he'll often hit harder than you'd think. Due to his skill in a style that has a limited amount of concern with 'stance' and 'form', he's a monstrously efficient fighter.

Weaknesses: Though it's no surprise, he's obviously lacking in raw power in the grand scale against larger opponents. He has a tendency to concentrate too much on close-quarters fighting above taking a step back, so to speak, and against fighters with similar tendencies, this limits the efficiency with which he attacks. His low latent inhibition becomes exponentially less efficient the closer he is to his opponents, as whilst his brain can process what needs to be done and he can 'see' the counter he needs, his body is not always able to keep up with the answers his mind gives him.
