Name: Miranda Fischer Nickname(s): Mir, Meerkat Status: Jr. Agent Age: 17 Gender: Female Nationality:American Ethnicity: Caucasian – German, Mixed Height: 5'6” Weight: 126 Religious Beliefs: Agnostic Sexual Orientation: Questioning
Appearance: About average height, Miranda has a toned body due to her participation in tennis and yoga. Her hair is a medium-dark brown that she sometimes adds blonde highlights for aesthetics, and it tends to have a wavy volume all its own. She prefers stylish clothes that allow for easy movement, but still prefers comfort over high fashion.
Personality: Miranda is used to taking on responsibility and getting stuff done, rather than debating on the what-if's and should-have's. She doesn't look back, but also believes that you need at least a general plan before stepping forward. Usually open to talking things out with others when she disagrees with them, he has a methodical approach to solving problems and tries to stick to whatever plans she makes. She's an orderly person and finds it easier to express herself through music and other forms of beat and tempo.
Interests: Tennis, yoga, music and musical instrument, general art history, hiking, making internet videos Skills:
Breathe Deep – Miranda has a good lung capacity thanks to her physical hobbies. While her strength may not be the greatest in terms of endurance, she can push herself to keep going and hold her breath really well!
Empathy – Music is of the soul, and Miranda feels it. She can relate to a person easier through music and does her best to work with a person's emotional state to support them beyond mere metahuman ability.
Musical Prodigy – Miranda has spent most of her life learning various musical instruments as well as piano to accompany her ability. She is skilled in singing, violin, and clarinet.
Abilities/Powers:Bardic Buffing – Miranda has the ability to buff a metahuman's power through music. The target is based on personal intent, offering a 2x buff to allies or a decrease of 1/2 against foes. Miranda will play or sing something based either on the buff intended, so “Eye of the Tiger” would be a song would be an example of a speed buff.
History: Miranda grew up a loving household with one meta and one regular human parent. The older of two girls adopted by Mark and Lorelei Fischer, Miranda was a vocal baby who was often drawn to music from the start. She slept better at night when music played, imitating the pitch as she grew older before learning to speak. It wasn't until she was older that her parents realized that this love of music was tied in with her gift. She'd been singing to herself one day on the playground when one of the other kids, a meta with enhanced strength, began throwing a temper tantrum that sent playground debris everywhere as he thrashed. While too far to be severely injured, she was insulted and the chipped wood stung. Miranda turned her intent on the kid, sassing a song at them that would cut their strength down enough for the other child to stop hurting others – and the playground equipment.
Raised in the Chicago suburbs, Miranda and her sister were brought up in a household that believed that a balance of mind and body was important to achieve whatever you wanted, and both were encouraged to try new things to find this balance with activities they liked. Of the two, Lorelei was the metahuman, and the entire family sought support to assure their daughter's abilities were well received along with the rest of her. For all intents and purposes, they succeeded. Miranda would grow up to be a friendly girl who loved band camp and her computer games, and rolled with the jokes when they came her way.
When the invite to Paradigm came, her parents had mixed reactions. They believed she could do well there, but the academhy's design left them worried. In the end, her argument that she could refine her ability and continue learning more than she would at a normal high school won them over, but it took time to reach that point. Metahumans were a part of everyday life now, and it didn't take Paradgim to leave the door to danger open, metas or not.
In the end, she spun the tale of the hopeful student, but the melody of Paradigm was one she had yet to experience.
