She wrapped her hands and wrists on her way to the Tutorial, having tucked a knife into her boot before she left her Pod. She and Aaron had been training and she was ready to check her progress.
While he was helping her with hand to hand, he couldn't help her incorporate her victim. She had to suck up her pride and ask the Matre'D. Bastard.
She walked in a few minutes early and clenched her fists. Damn smirk.
She was fast, time to use it, because he wasn't waiting. Spikes would erupt from behind Piper looking to impale into both of her legs. If they ripped through her flesh they would barb so that pulling them out would rip out hunks of muscle and put her down.
She was moving, and moving fast. She crouched ever so slightly, fingers finding the knife she kept in her boot. If she didn't take advantage of her time, he would be encased in something too hard for her to break through.
She she threw the knife, aiming for the biggest target: his torso.
It was a good move! Such a good move as it moved faster than the metal encasing his body. But it was a metal blade, and as it slammed into his chest the metal moved and flattened. Like someone threw a tomato at him. He grunted from the impact but there was no cut.
"Wrong choice."
The metal around her feet would attempt to wrap around her legs to keep her in place!
Her eyes widened as her blade... Flattened. She was so certain about the move that she wasn't quite sure how she'd come out of it.
However, she made a mental note. Use something else, like maybe a wooden stake.
The floor was trying to grab at her and she jumped forward, still trying to close the distance between them. However, lesson learned. No knife, and no punching something at full speed.
She made it look as if she was going for his face, raising her hand, and then feigned a quick left, trying to keep him from encasing himself with some kind of distraction.
She hissed at the inconvenience, the floor catching her and sending her jerking forward. She knew, at that point, that she was going to lose, and a breath of desperation touched her.
She turned to glare at Mat, moving her hands as quickly as she could. It was really her last shot in the dark. She uncoiled her leather belt, studded with plastic studs and moving to use it as something akin to a whip.
If they were close enough, she'd try to hit him in the nose with it, hoping to somehow, by the grace of her Almighty, make him bleed.
An attack that probably would have worked had she started with that one. The plastic studs would scrape against the metal covering his body harmlessly. He would however raise up a palm as a metal spike shot outward to impale into her right shoulder.
She had lurched forward, trying to make sure the belt hit, but it bounced off harmlessly. "Dammit!" She shouted, just as the spike reached for her.
There was little she could do, and so she shoved herself to one side, hoping to dodge the impaling.
Hopefully, it would scratch her, but not impale her. She knew it would be fairly deep, and that she WOULD bleed, but at least she would still have the function of her arm.
She held the wound with one hand, still holding her belt with the other, and stared hard at Mathew. She was barely breathing heavy and seemed unaffected by the pain, but their game was over.
"You won," she said, holding her head as high as she could manage, despite the loathing she felt.
Her body stiffened rather obviously at the use of that damned name and she bared her teeth.
Shatter her arm? She'll swing with the other. Cut her arm open? She'll stand strong.
Call her Sarah, and she starts shaking.
"My name is Piper," she corrected him, chin tilting upwards. He said she had nothing, but he still asked her questions, and as far as she was concerned... That was one of his two.
"I'm here to learn and better myself. I plan to fulfill my Destiny, and I'll use whoever I need to so that I can be ready when my Time comes."
