"Yeah, I wanted to spend Christmas with my family. I haven't seen them since I came out to Paradigm. It's weird, cause we used to always eat dinner together and have family night. And my whole world has just shifted since coming here. I really kind of miss it."
"So you're excited?" she asked, smiling softly. She could understand missing that... Even though she didn't have much in comparison, she still missed her own family.
If she stayed here through the spring, she'd even miss her father's birthday. It would be the first one.
"I really am. I still need to pick out some presents for them. I'm thinking another set of ugly sweaters. Kind of a tradition, though I debated on trying something new to celebrate this new chapter. I am still up in the air though."
She was still smiling, warming her hands again on the mug. One hand been wrapped around Eric's arm, and thus, out in the cold.
"I mean, get them the old tradition to remind them that you're still their little Eric, no matter what, but get them something new to remind them that things are changing and it is okay."

"Working," she said, sounding... cheerful about the fact. It would be her first holiday season away from her family, but she didn't seem to mind. She genuinely seemed excited at the prospect.
"I'm going to the party that will be here Christmas Eve, but I'll be around Jack's office most of the day on Christmas Day. I plan to have everything completely in order by the time he gets back."
"Jack's a really nice guy. He is constantly trying to tell me not to work too late. But I enjoy it, and it'll be nice to just play some holiday music and dance around. Get some stuff done."
He'd let her grab one hand as he set down his hot cocoa, his other hand moving to the side, the air ripping in front of his finger tips as he pulled out a Boombox playing some music for them to dance to!
She actually seemed fairly graceful as she danced to the music, if a bit repetitive in her movements. It wasn't something she was incredibly talented in, but she knew her body and knew how it moved.
And she seemed to genuinely have fun with it. That always helped.
Evie kept his hand in her own as they danced, giving it a gentle squeeze and laughing. So what if they looked like dorks, dancing in the middle of the snow?
