(Note: continued from Wake Up Sunshine)

Anna pulled the girl along the way to the gym, and she smirked widely when she finally asked what was up in that tone, with that attitude. At least the girl was smart. She had a right to not trust Anna, but after that little show at Fat Jack’s – Anna decided that some training wouldn’t hurt her one bit, and it would be a good way to beat up on someone that was probably much worse than her at fighting under the pretense of the word ‘help’. How could Anna pass this up? Easy, she couldn’t.

She pushed open the doors, and they were in the wrestling room. Mats and padded walls, probably what the girl would desperately need. “Isn’t it obvious Runt, to think I thought you were attentive.” She said in a voice that was supposed to make her feel shame, she doubted it worked. She continued to drag her until they were both standing in the middle of the empty room. “Aright, spread your legs.” She said in a mocking voice, purposefully making it sound dirty. Of course she meant for her to stand them shoulder length apart and get ready.

Poor Aleece probably never saw it coming with Anna hauled back and punched her in the shoulder. A spot that Anna knew wouldn’t really hurt her, and wouldn’t do some serious damage. She was sure it took the girl by surprise though.

When she was finally let go of, she was slightly taken back to hear the command for her to spread her legs, and she didn’t move. But she got it, it was just the way Anna had said it that made it sound so damn dirty. Looking down she made to settle her feet shoulder length apart…she really didn’t see it coming until it was to late.

The feeling of the fist meeting her shoulder caused her to take a step back and instantly grab the throbbing spot now. That shit hurt!

Aleece’s mouth opened in disbelief, “what the hell!”

She was finally able to get that much out as she backed up a few more steps. Of course she had close quarter combat training but that was just a cheap shot. Dirty, and completely not fair she hadn’t even been looking when it came. Scowling at the woman she rubbed the tingling and numb spot with a huff.

“I didn’t think I was going to get beat up coming here with you,” she grumbled very sore at the fact she had sucker punched her in the shoulder no less.

Anna chuckled deep in her chest when she heard and saw the disbelief on the girls face, it was rich and tasty. She knew it was a cheap shot, both of them knew it was a cheap shot, and she didn’t feel the slightest big bad about it. Life was a bitch and it was always taking cheap shots, so you either learned to deal with it and expect the unexpected or well….you just didn’t go far.

A predatory like grin spread over her lips as her eyes stayed trained on the girls movements, thing was she was only backing up instead of getting angry and hitting her back and that simply wouldn’t do. She had expected the disbelief, but she had also expected retaliation and when that didn’t happened she was even more determined to force the girl to throw a decent fight. All that military shit, she would just have t toss it right out the window because when your enemy fought dirty you had to adapt. “Yes well, you’ll be black and blue by the time I am done with you if you don’t shape up pretty right quick.” She warned, starting to move around the girl, taunting her placing herself in front of the only unlocked door incase even the figment of the word ‘escape’ crossed her mind.

This time Anna took some warning shots with her fists as if she was boxer, though she didn’t really have the finesse or the skill. She came close to the girls face at one point, but she was trying to goad her into throwing a punch. It would get much dirtier then this that was for sure. She was planning on holding up to her promise of black and blue regardless. “I am curious as to what you thought you were going to do by coming here with me.” She joked, a smile on her face as she waggled her eyebrows. “If it’s getting naked I can sure comply, sounds a lot more fun.” She eyed her up and down again, making a suggestive face.

With a put out sound and huff Aleece merely batted the offending mock punches at her continuing to back up from Anna even if she got now why she wanted her here. But one thing tingled at her curiosity. She didn’t get a chance to ask though or voice it because the older woman was taunting her trying to get a rise out of her by making the suggestive statement.

Rolling her eyes and sending her a put out look Aleece stopped backing up and frowned, “why are you even bothering to help me? I don’t want to learn to fight, as long as I’ve got brains.”

She tapped her temple in a put out manner, “and as long as they stay right here between my ears, I don’t’ think I need to learn how to fight.”

Her shoulder still throbbed painfully and she wanted to make a run for it fearing for her life at this point honestly, and somehow she didn’t think that excuse would hold up to Annalise….

Anna was starting to get slightly annoyed with Runt, she wasn’t rising to the bait at all, merely batting her hands away as if she were joking with her. Poor thing didn’t know that the next hit wasn’t going to be a joke, and it wasn’t going to be in the shoulder. What was really nagging her was that the girl was backing up from her, running, again. It was obvious that this was not the girls element, behind that flashy lil’ computer screen was by the way she reacted in the room.

Then the girl asked the million dollar question, why was Anna even bothering to help her, and that caused her to straighten her back and let her arms down for a moment. Then she grinned again, “That one’s easy Runt, free punching bag. I can hit someone and not get in trouble for it because it’s under the pretense of sparing. You just happen to learn something useful out of it.” She shot off lazily and in a bored tone.

When the girl mentioned she didn’t need to learn to fight Anna outright laughed in her face, finding the notion hil-fucking-arious. “If you were so peachy smart, you would know that everyone needs to learn to fight Runt.” She spat at her, in an almost offended tone. She got close to her and in a split instant dropped down, forcing her leg out, using her momentum to spin and caught Runts legs with her own, bringing the girl down on her back to the mats and more than likely taking the wind out of her. Before Aleece could respond, Anna was on top of her just like in the room when she went to dress her, bringing her fist down and stopping just before it hit her square in the nose.

Suddenly the tension and atmosphere around Anna was very serious and thick, almost dark as she pulled her fist away and sat on top of her for a moment or so. “Pretty fucking brains don’t help you when you find yourself in a situation you don’t want to be in Runt. Fists stop a guy from tearing you out of your bed at night, fists stop men from gang raping you in the back of a truck, fists stop men from spilling your guts with a knife over the sidewalk in broad daylight. You don’t get to just opt-out from every situation sweet cakes, you think you don’t need to fight now, but bitch you’ll regret it when you find yourself in a spot and realize you need it. Life fights dirty, you best learn to fight back because you can’t lock yourself in a room and stay behind your pretty fucking computer.” She shoved her shoulders and got up off her.

“Now get up.” She nearly hissed “Best start taking this shit seriously, because the next shot I’m out for blood.” She warned in a tight tone. Games were over.

Aleece landed on her back even though she had the dexterity to maybe avoid her but she found herself on her back the wind knocked out of her and blinking at the fist at her nose. She could see the point Anna stopped playing around, and it was at that point.

What she had to say to her cowed her over slightly and she wanted to turn her face away, because she knew that everything out of her mouth (while she didn’t want to agree) was true. With a sigh she took the shove and stood when told to, more like hissed at to do.

Even if she had taken the required CQC training she hadn’t really taken it seriously just doing what she had to, to get passed it. Standing slowly she faced Anna waiting for whatever was going to happen next. She had never really had to take hits or was considered someone’s punching bag….so she was slightly afraid of how she was going to make her face look.

“Fine, stop talking shit to me and teach me to do whatever it is your hell bent on teaching me. If you think you can anyways,” she said despite herself but didn’t accompany the remark with a smirk or grin.

Anna took a moment to cool off her temper; obviously there was something in her past that made her the way she was other than her just being a straight bitch. People didn’t just get born with the bitch gene, though Anna made some think it was very much possible. Nope, she was passionate and angry for a reason, not that she ever shared that tid-bit of information with any living soul.

She watched as the girl stood, and she just didn’t think this was going to be any fun if she didn’t throw in some twists and turns for the Runt. As if flipping a light switch her usual quirky bitchy self was back in place, that glint in her eye and that smirk on her lips. She wasn’t lying when she said her next hit she would be out for blood, but that didn’t mean her next hit was going to be the next thing she did. She stood up straight and held her arms out as if in anatomical position. “Hit me.” She told her seriously, her face daring her to. “Best shot, anywhere you want. One time offer.” She said with a arrogant and cocky voice.

The Runts first lesson would be to learn how to block, then they would move on to throwing punches. Despite how Anna was, she was street smart, she knew the basics of fighting and part of it was being clever enough to outsmart your opponent. She needed to build this girl up to that point, because if she had as much brains as she said she did, she could be brilliant in a fight.

There had to be something really unbalanced with this woman, Aleece thought as she stared in somewhat disbelief the fact that the anger from a minute ago seemed to flip into what she had been displaying before, along with the command to get hit. Now she figured she had a lot to want to actually hit Anna over but she wasn’t one to just up and hit anyone.

She hesitated for a moment her face crimping lightly with indecisiveness, but she certainly didn’t to give the other woman a reason to come at her first. Aleece couldn’t help but stick with her moral of not fighting, it was fine really if others did it but she just couldn’t bring herself too. Hell she knew how to get out a scrap if it came down to it, sure she wasn’t strong but she was fast…

Sighing she nodded one and brought up her hands taking a couple half steps into Annalise much like a boxer would, she supposed (she had no fighting style after all). Briefly she stalled again for a second before her fisted fingers struck out taking aim for the first place that was level with, the jaw.

Anna waited with an air of impatience; she could tell that Aleece would rather have nothing to do with this or her, which made her grin even harder, that was the fun part of Aleece, she could annoy the shit out of the girl and she wouldn’t try and beat her to a bloody pulp. When she saw her indecisiveness on her face she huffed out a breath of annoyance and flashed her a look that clearly said ‘pussy’, but she didn’t move no matter how the aggravation crawled up her spine and she was itching to take another swing.

Finally she saw the girl set up and move in, and it was….cute, not intimidating. She would have to teach this girl to fight with instinct as well as brains. Anna could practically see everything flowing through her mind like a flash sign, it was slightly pathetic, but she kept her word and didn’t move and she didn’t even try to block as the first came to her jaw and connected. It snapped her head back, but it didn’t make her lose her balance, and it really didn’t even draw blood, sure she’d have a small bruise but the hit wasn’t what it should have been for a free shot.

“You hit like a girl,” she spat at her, her eyes wrinkling in amusement. She wasn’t going to lecture the girl on how she could have blocked that hit, rather she would show her. “Block me.” She said and before the words were finished she had her fist back and flying towards the girls jaw, if she didn’t block it she was going to end up with some serious sort of injury, because Anna wasn’t holding back. There was always a catch with Anna, she let the girl take a free shot in order to figure out where she would try and hit her first, it was all just a big game, always was.

She wasn’t surprised when Anna’s head merely snapped back but didn’t move other wise. She didn’t have a lot of strength to put behind a punch; she knew that, perfectly understood. She just wasn’t fast enough, strong enough and didn’t have enough stamina. It was why she barely got through what was required of her here…

Aleece dropped her hands and that was probably her first mistake. No, no…her first mistake was that she had she had followed this nut case here…(like she had, had a choice) . At the comment of punching like a girl she rolled her eyes, yeah well…she knew she did, really old news here. Her third or so mistake was actually taking her attention off of Anna for a second.

In that split nuance of time that shouldn’t have mattered, Anna had her fist drawn back, her command for her to block taking her by surprise and by the time she had looked up…to see that fist coming at her, and hitting. Hard.

Her face literally exploded making her crumble stupidly to floor and short cry on her lips and leaving her brains feeling literally knocked out of place. Fuuuuck the thought may or may not have been uttered, her jaw was left gaping open a hand on the throbbing and pained area, and something metallic, blood, filling her mouth.

A low moan left her as she laid on the floor flat on her back, one leg drawn up as she attempted to use it so she could roll to the side. Aleece planted a hand on the floor of the gym completely and utterly disoriented. At least to the side was better, her own blood wasn’t running down her throat now, and instead was dribbling from the corner of her mouth and she really couldn’t be sure, but her lip might have been busted up as well.

This didn’t make Aleece mad…it hurt like hell! Why the fuck would someone want to do this voluntarily? The people around here were crazy for actually having egos so big they would want to duke it out by pounding each others faces in.
