Tournament Rules and Information

|| Rules Written by Dr. Thomas Kussro ||

NOTE: A tournament is a set battle, with a series of fights. The number of fighters is determined before hand with a sign up sheet. Once the sign up sheet is filled, the tournament can begin! Tournaments are various fighting areas and rules. They can happen in an arena or any setting that the staff chooses before hand. There are time limits to how long a fight can take due to the need to complete the tourney.

Tournament Rules

1. Fighting Physics: Matches are based on both RP ability and fighting prowess. "Kicking ass isn't enough to win, and being emo is a quick way to getting your ass kicked." Write both aspects to the best of your ability, without being redundant. This includes staying true to the grade system in relation to player skill, character build, and one's fighting style.

2. Round Length: Standard matches will last one week and are expected to be wrapped up with a suitable ending by the start of the next round. However, matches may be extended before or during the rounds, possibly stretching longer than one week, but never under.

3. Judging: In Character, there are no judges, just hosts and referees. Fights can only end in KO, TKO, or submission. Unless withdrawn before the start of the round, there are no other endings, and any IC excuses will be ignored.

4. Opening Post: All match participants are expected to post within 24 hours of the threads beginning. It can be an OOC excuse, but something must be posted to show you have not lost the ability to post for the rest of the tournament. Failure to do either of these results in a loss of the match, either by the last hit that was not responded to or the next attack launched against you being a KO or technical KO.

5. Damage Limit: Unless otherwise noted, there are no rules to the amount of force. While anything permanently crippling or fatal would still require full detail and player permission, there are no rules and therefore are able to fight dirty.

6. Non-Fighter Posts: Audiences are allowed (and encouraged) in the tournament, but commentary will not favor any side in the conflict. Don't pretend to be a judge, but root all you want.

7. Arguments: Arguing in a thread does not count as an IC post for time purposes. Post that your working out details and do arguments over PM. Arguing through the thread will result in a loss for both parties involved.

8. Behavior: People want to read a fight, not a pissing contest. If you're being overly aggressive (the player, not the character) it will reflect very badly on you. Don't forget, this board's main purpose is to entertain, not to pet your ego.

9. Communication: If there are any questions, ask before doing. If not, when called on it any comments of "not thinking I'd have to ask" or "I was unsure" will be regarded as "I ignored the rules" and therefore void and without sympathy.
