Section Details (Discussion + Blogs and Games)

The General Discussion section is your headquarters for chilling out as your own real life personality. Here you'll be able to make OOC threads to discuss ideas, post links to threads that you want people to read about, youtube videos you find amusing, or anything else that brings some sort of conversation. You'll find two subboards here - the RP Request subboard and the Character Blogs and Games subboard. The RP Request subboard has its own policy thread, so please refer there to read up on its own ethics. The Blogs and Games subboard and the General Discussion section as a whole have their ethics pointers here.


General Discussion Ethics and Policies

In this section of the board, you basically get to talk about whatever you want - to a point. When you post in this area, you're not able to just free reign here kiddies, you still have to follow the board rules, and that means respecting one another, holding back any frank words you think will hurt someone, and don't go posting up inappropriate things - especially porn. If I find anyone flaming someone else, we'll be having a firm chat and possible warnings abound; if I catch any inappropriate links spread around such as illegal downloads or pornography, that will be an IMMEDIATE suspension or even ban from the site. So remember that you're still following the laws of our society here. But beyond that, so long as its in good taste every conversation under the Sun is open - even sexual humor, so long as its clever. Use your own judgment to make that decision and hope I don't disagree with you.

One of the important things here will be the subjects that you find. Though you're free to talk about much, each thread has to have a certain level of value to it - essentially, if the thread is following a particular subject, everyone is keeping to that discussion even as they make a few offshoot points. Basically, this is a NO SPAM zone, and if a thread gets too far off subject to the point that the thread creator feels disillusioned or I feel upset about it, the thread will be locked, and all that fun will be lost. So remember: keep to a subject, and keep to the conversation. Don't go steal someone else's limelight. Further, don't go making threads unless you feel they'll have value to them; we don't need ten threads of you posting up your favorite videos just to get a simple response of "lol" and "that's funny." If you like posting youtube, make your own thread - or better yet, use the illustrious Chat thread. We sticky its wildly general theme for a reason.


Character Blog and Games Subboard

This is an area specifically designed for another bit of fun. Some of you may be familiar with this idea of posting up text-styled games where you post the rules and people react for fun's sake, or those who like to blog in real life posting up journal entries from the eyes of their characters. If that's your thing, then have all the fun you want here - just remember the rules and you'll be fine.
