Right, so nobody can bitch about it, something needs to be made clear. Activity is the backbone of a healthy board. Members trafficking and posting. As such, I will (from here on out) be making efforts to maintain the board population to be that of ONLY ACTIVE MEMBERS.
The system works as such, and I think is fairly reasonable. Anyone who does not meet the listed criteria is deleted (NOT banned, you're welcome to come back if you want to try again) as a result of inactivity.
14 days of inactivity - Zero post accounts will be deleted
30 days of inactivity - Less than ten posts will be deleted
60 days of inactivity - Less than twenty posts will be deleted.
Effectively you're being given a month to get ten posts. This is NOT DIFFICULT TO DO. In three months at least ten characters on Chula surpassed a HUNDRED.
Moving on...After ninety days, all accounts with over fifty posts will be sent one email to remind them that their account is inactive. A reply to this will be required to request a stay of deletion, if one is not sent within one week then the account will be deleted.
As I have stated already, NOBODY WILL BE BANNED. Deletion is simply to remove dead accounts and is not an attack on any roleplayer, as such any complaints will be fully and wholeheartedly ignored on the matter. You are given a suitable and very reasonable span of time to display activity on the board, so don't get your panties in a bunch if you vanish, decide to come back and find you can't log in. Re-register, repost the bio, it's not that hard.
Anyway, the first cleanout was done about half an hour ago. I removed approximately forty dead and unused accounts. Hopefully this will mean next month I don't have to remove ANY. ^^
Hm... So. Account gets deleted. Person comes back. Postcount back to 0 upon account revival, perhaps removing stat increments?
And everyone is given a quota to make 10 posts a month? Or is this just to avoid a pass of deletion?
There's a term called postwhoring, if I recall. I can go on, but I wouldn't want to mean any disrespect to certain roleplayers in particular. There're just a few issues to this that could use more clarity.

I should probably have been a bit clearer with what I said. ^^;
Only people with post counts under FIFTY (meaning no stat increases) would have their account deleted without the warning email, and only if they'd been inactive (I.E had not logged in). If you're logging in but just not posting, hell, that's fine. You're still here, you're still looking around and whatnot and therefore, are active in some degree. I'm moreso looking for the people who just vanish.
Obviously I'm taking in individual logic for each player as well. I recognise that your account for example, Dagny, does not register as EVER being online for various reasons after all
Ran Ling Xiao and Pan Yi Xiao have been left undeleted despite a lack of posts since the former expressed wishes to apply for character faculty and the latter has a back-and-forth habit.
Besides, ten posts a month is a piece of cake. My record's 28 in a day. One good thread can get that
Still, as I said, I'm only aiming to filter out the accounts that are being left to clutter, nothing more.
In my case, the reason I haven't been posting is partly due to my worthless computer, partly due to writers' block (unlike you, I'm not a machine that can effortlessly churn out a thousand War and Peace-sized posts in the time it takes a mortal to blink), and in one case due to having no idea where to put the character. I'm also working on several other writings, and a character's profile (the reason the Kai Schanburg account has no posts is because I've yet to actually finish his profile, seeing as I have to reconstruct it from scratch). I am, however, trying to be active.

If we log into our account(s), yet don't post for whatever reason it is that we're unable to; we won't get deleted?
And I noticed you said you would do it without warning? Personally I think you should at least send an e-mail about it. If they don't care, then meh, at least they were told ya know. *shrugs* Your decision of course, that's just me personally. ^____^

Point 1 - Yes. As long as you log in, you will fall under the radar since I check login activity as my primary search. Posting is still expected, but your account is safe so long as you log in.
Point 2 - Accounts that have zero posts come across as a waste of time to point out 'Hey, your account is inactive'. They wanna come back? They've lost NOTHING. As I said, I will not delete ESTABLISHED accounts that have gone inactive. Example, if Aleece went inactive for three months (touches wood, I have threads with her, lol), an email would be sent to inform her as to the matter. If someone has been inactive for three straight months and has less than fifty posts, under most circumstances it's usually a dropped account. Again, like I said, common sense is applied. If I know it's a secondary account or one that's on 'hiatus' or whatnot, then I'm hardly going to kill it.
Does it count if you're notorious for having bouts of inactivity, like a person I know all too well?
Don't worry, I wouldn't delete your account Seth. I'd just find you and carve you a new arsehole. ^_^ You don't have any excuse for being a lazy bitch now, not with the upcoming plans.
Subtle jabs are ineffective, so if you have something you wish to say then go right ahead.
YOU'RE AN EVIL DICTATOR!
By taking steps to encourage the members to be more active, and in turn removing away any filler and wasted accounts? I am not FORCING anyone to post. I am merely making a point that if you choose not to attend the board, then your account will be removed.
Evil dictator? Mussolini and Kim Jong Il are practically shitting themselves at my actions. >.>
