Combat:

Eight Trigrams Defense
Years Practiced: Thirteen

The goal of Mei Hua Quan (Eight, Sixteen, Thirty-Two Trigrams) is not necessarily to destroy your opponent, but instead to cripple and disable him or her. This is accomplished by balance, agility, tactical training, as well as a clear mind and pure soul. The combination of these factors allows the user of the style to maximize their agility and precision, allowing strikes against critical nerve points and/or organs, allowing for effective disablement using technique alone, instead of pure, blunt force.

Strategic Portal Fighting is a self-taught defensive style that uses the standard Awrenian Eight Trigrams fighting style, but by combining it together with his Qi, this allows him to strike from places he might not be able to normally. However, this is a rather rare use of the style. Because of Aternity's unwillingness to fight or become aggressive, he modified the style, instead choosing to fight extremely defensively. While his attack range is shortened, the various stances he uses allows him to counter, block, parry, or dodge nearly any attack that comes at him at the sacrifice of offensive striking power. (No Qi, means no epic through the wall maneuvers. Maybe later, maybe not!)

Don't be fooled. Even this stance hurts quite a bit if you do choose to get close...a good series of hits will more than decimate an opponents nervous system, be forewarned.
Strengths:
Damn. This guy is fast, and he's tricky. His fighting style makes unpredictable, and his speed compounds the problem for his opponents. The particular palm/nerve strikes also tend to work more to people without body fat...which is practically everyone here. His inner ear is also extremely tuned to vertigo. Heights or invertedness doesn't disorient him.
Weaknesses:
Aternity's cybernetic limbs, his left arm in particular is an extremely complex machine, and is far more easily broken than a normal limb. It's been shattered, split, crushed, sliced and every other kind of broken. On his biological side...Ternie isn't particularly strong, or armored. He can take small hits, but large hits can break stuff. He's also hard of seeing without his glasses, majorly farsighted. On another note, Aternity hates water, and while he can swim, water getting into the electronics isn't good... (Two posts maximum in water before electronics shorting.)

[/ul]

History:
Normally, all it took was a little ingenuity, and some innovative use of time & space to get what I wanted, but usually, I just left it all alone, I had what I wanted, and there was nothing I needed. How I ended up in this god forsaken place was nothing short of either fate or destiny. This is my story, or at least the parts I remember.

I was born in the Riau Providence to a military parentage, who were rather prominent in the military. At least my father was. My father was serving in Iraq for my very early years, and over the course of three deployments, received critical injuries, shattering his leg. He is however alive today, now back together with my mother in the United States, in Washington on some military base. Contrary to my older sister, Lunari, I didn't grow up on a Shoshoni tribe, but instead lived with my parents in a military setting. While military, I discovered I was being treated rather well compared to my friends. I tried to make them feel better...but often failed. They said I was different somehow, and each time I tried to cheer them up, was shunned and left.

I didn't know what was wrong with me.

Nor did my sister. It was all very strange.

It was at age seven that I started to truly become aware of myself. It happened when one of the older kids at school tried to bully me. Like before, I found my comparatively frail body unable to match that of my aggressor. But something was different. As I cringed in fear, I found my aggressor suddenly gone, a burst of noise, a small bang...he was gone. But how? I ran home in tears and found only my older sister. I nearly dove on her as she was practicing her singing...I asked what had happened, what I was, and what I had done to that kid, but she too had no idea. I must of spent the next hour crying there in her arms.

Later that night, in a fit of rage, I practically demanded to know what had happened. All I knew was that something happened, and that I did it. My parents took one look at each other, and Terrene, then me in progression, then proceeded to sit me down and explain the whole situation. They started off with a simple, but confusing statement. "Aternity, Terrene, you are both Awrens." Well, of course we were, that was our last name! I was about to protest, then decided against it as my parents kept talking. They said that our family was special somehow, that each one of us had special powers, and that those powers came at a price of a possible genetic defection that afflicted every other Awren born. I wouldn't learn about the defect until later in my life.

However, the other things they talked about instantly became clear as my mother took his contacts from her eyes. I knew she'd always worn these contacts, but I didn't realize they had been colored...under a colored green mask, lay the glowing, smoky orange eyes that I would receive three years later.

Most of my life after that was spent by my parents, along with Terrene's later discovered earthly Qi, developing my powers along side hers, teaching us how to use and manipulate our Qi for the good of the world. Along with this, my parents taught us the family martial arts style, the Eight Trigrams. Mine in particular was unique...I learned to phase step, and "jump" to places in an instant; at a speed even olympic sprinters would be jealous of.

Five years later, while still in school, Terrene was hauled out of school for something I wasn't aware of. I heavily protested, she'd been my best friend for all of these years, and now she was leaving. Of course, she promised to write every day as I grew up at the base, and likewise, she carried on her promise, for but a year...until one day, the letters stopped coming. I figured she'd just forgotten, but I was naive, and I kept waiting, for days, for weeks. And still nothing came. The story of my life became increasingly saddened...even my parents hadn't heard from her...

It seemed like my big sister had been lost forever. At about this time, my mental state deteriorated, having been with her so long, and with no one else to understand me, I practically did anything to get money for a plane to Japan. I used my powers to steal people of their belongings, among other things. I did pretty well for a couple years...making enough on my own to support myself and my training away from my parents...but I would have to do something more to get enough for a prolonged stay in Japan. A bank heist. Yes, that was the ticket.

It started like any other plan, and it should have been easy, I had looked inside the local bank vault before, and I was able to easily breach the security. However, packing up the money, my memory lapsed...something was wrong with this vault. I tried to jump out, but my face slammed into the wall time and time again. There was no way out. I could try jumping back to the house, but I might of come out truly INSIDE the house. No...I wasn't going to die. The next thing I knew was a burning pain, my body going numb, and falling to the ground. Next thing I knew, I was in a cell, a special one...so I couldn't see anywhere to jump. They'd done their job catching me, and I deserved it. Not only did I ruin my chance to find my sister, I'd disgraced my entire family. For all I cared, death didn't seem to be too bad an option.

But...something else was different too. The judge that came personally into my cell offered me a choice, a prison school for learning my Qi, and for expanding my knowledge, or staying here for the rest of my life. It was a terribly hard choice I know.

Now for the first day of my new life, something good may yet come of this. Terrene may be dead, but at least I made it to Japan in...sort of one piece, right?

Later, after a short stint at 650, I reunited with Terrene, and once again lost her after the school was destroyed by the Paladin forces. I had learned of them before Paragon's, as they were after me...but now, my presence had helped destroy the school. I fled without my sister, wandering the world with Solaris, Sophia and Lunari for sometime until they sent me back to school...Point Hope. Although...there was another purpose. I still had an active AI core in my neck. It was Solaris' link back to the civilized world.

I would have to find Matrim.

And find him I did, although his mind was more splintered than a piece of wood. For the most part, the year has been going rather well. I'm nearly a junior, in remission after the extensive rewiring of a malformed genetic code, and of course, the start of the intelligence gang Visions. Oh? And did I mention Enya?

I don't need to, I wouldn't be able to stop talking anyway.

The last four years have been uneventful...I've lost Enya to the abyss...wherever she is, and now?

Hell. I don't know.

Get on with life?

((Notes taken from the journal of Solaris Awren:))

A clash between Lunari Awren, my crazy sister and her moon based powers, and Toby Mackensie, the anti-Qi, apparently created a shockwave that erased active Qi within a ten foot radius. Aternity, attempting to save face with both his sister and Enya's uncle, was caught in the blast, sealing away his ability to phase and teleport where he pleases. Whether the loss was temporary or permanent is still up for debate. For now, he's living without his so called 'ability to run away.'

1. Spoke to you about weight. Corrected

2. Spoke to you about the weight of arms. Corrected

3. As I do realize the time line was slightly different in PH, and Ternie is a transfer, stating at the bottom or in misc. AI is a bit beyond the current time line, making a special spot to note that the deactivated chip cannot be used AND if you don't refer to your brother ic as an AI but rather just "your brother" would take care of this problem.

4. Not having a Qi isn't a "weakness" we can accept because no one has Qi here. Other people will have lost theirs too. Please replace with another weakness.

5. There is a broken code in the middle of your history
. Please fix? Incude loosing your Qi as well, as this is an important part that should be fully explained.

~Delilah
