She's pissed as tits and could probably say a million horrible things about Rhett right now. Somehow, despite that, she already knows if anyone else ever did that, she'd take it badly.
She doesn't even want to think about hearing Lucien talk about killing Rhett.
"Mathew would enter and shut the door behind him. Taking a moment to peer into any shadows to ensure they are not being spied on by nosy students again. When he was confident that they were alone he'd turn to face Jack. His flesh hand tucked into his pocket while his stone arm hung limply at his side.
He'd take a step toward the desk, planting his stone fist on the desk as he leaned forward.
"They are going to die. And you need to know that these are not your kids. And it's not your fault that they aren't ready for this. I'm here to make sure you are ready for what is going to happen. Not them."
"Bullshit. Those soldiers we have out there. They made their choice to come here knowing what it could mean. And you etching each name into your flesh isn't going to change that they will bleed and die out there. No one is ready for war, least of all those that have lived through it before."
He'd sigh in frustration but keep his gaze level.
"Take it from me. You can't make all of them your kids. It will literally kill you."
