Name: Kazuki Akimoto
Nickname: Kaz
Nationality: Japanese-American, relinquished Japanese citizenship.
Ethnicity: Asian
Attended Faculty: John C. Fremont High School (Languages department)
Age: 26
D.O.B: June 20th, 1983
Origin: Hokkaido, Japan.
Weight: 161lbs
Height: 5' 9"
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Blood Type: B Negative
Religious Persuasion: Orthodox Christian
Spoken Languages: Japanese, English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian, Swedish, Russian, Thai and Cantonese.

~Appearance~

Physical:

 • Head: Kazuki's a fairly archetypal Japanese male in his overall appearance. Smooth, lightly chiseled features, a forehead slightly marred with worry-lines but otherwise owning a perfect complexion. His eyes have very light bags under them, a result from many years of burning the candle at both ends unfortunately. Normally he has a light moustache growing in that is kept trimmed to stubble, framing his slightly thin lips. His eyes are slate grey, an uncommon feature for his family line and add a touch of distinction to the otherwise fairly pleasant looking, but otherwise simple, Asian.

 • Torso: Slim and solidly toned, Kazuki may have left behind the fighting of Varron and San Francisco, but his body remains his temple and is kept in appropriate condition. A lightly visible but very definite set of abdominals grace his lower torso, topped with similarly built pectoral muscles.

 • Arms: Strong, wiry and layered with muscle, the definition is present but not obviously so. Kazukis body, built for speed, focuses on cardiovascular and aerobic training methods, instead training existing muscle rather than building them up. They may not look like much, but there's a deceptive power in them as a result of that speed and his Aikido mastery.

 • Hands: Rough, calloused and weathered from all his years of training and fighting, his knuckles are prominent and built under the skin of his hands thanks to calcium build-up. His fingers are average length and slender in keeping with the rest of his build.

 • Legs: Firm and sturdy, despite the Asians slim frame, the similarities between his arms and legs are obvious. Built to empower existing muscle rather than make it bulky, the density of the present tissue is extreme.

 • Feet: Size nines, calloused on the soles and otherwise somewhat unassuming.

Clothing: Tending to lean towards casual yet stylish clothing, designer labels and the peak of fashion. Jeans or slacks, shirts or hooded tops, boots or sneakers, he has an endless variety to his wardrobe. The only thing it shares in connection, is he never looks out of place or unkempt. Never one for disheveled appearances, he will almost always appear well groomed, and tends to favour darker tones, though will often accompany them with small amounts of red or other strong colors. As of late, he tends to wear a pair of dark glasses in his day to day lifestyle as well, simply for the aesthetic purpose. When fighting however, in hand to hand, he will usually wear lighter garments, and if he chooses to wear anything on his upper body it will be sleeveless and very thin, easy to shed if it proves an advantageous benefit to the opponent.

Eye color: Slate grey

Hair: Black, reasonably short and manageable, usually left to sit however it chooses due to its ease to keep under control.

~Other Information~

Personality: Long since kerbing the violent nature he had as a younger man, Kazuki is a mostly affable individual in his day-to-day life, easy to get on with and simple to please. He enjoys the company of others as a whole, having little trouble with other people inwardly. However, despite this fairly light and pleasant demeanour, remains Kazukis battle instinct. Put him against an opponent and he retains the severe, unwavering 'mushin' that fuelled his combat ability during the former, violent days of time since past.

Assets: Born with very little to his name, Kazuki arrived in America with less than two thousand dollars in his pocket and through a combination of hard work and shrewd investment, both in his clubs and stock, has amassed a personal fortune of nearly ten million dollars. Self made, his money is nothing more than a plaything to him now, a gift he has earned through his own blood, sweat and tears, and has provided him with a lavish lifestyle he doesn't hesitate to share. In the last five years, he's given away nearly the same amount of money again to friends and family members, invested in the future.

After all, it's only money....

~Important Details~

History: Kazuki was born into a family that seemed as normal as any other, his parents loved him, they loved each other, and things were great for the youngster...He lived in a normal home in a quiet village in Hokkaido, Northern Japan, played with other kids and spent his youth learning how to ride a bike and other such trivial things a child would do. There was one slight difference between his family and many others in the largely Buddhist community however, that being the fact they were practicing Christians. Whereas in most of Japan, such a thing had long since been widely accepted, some small villages were deeply set in the older ways and refused to accept such things...

Persecution and ignorance of their faith inevitably led to his parents killing by religious fanatics when he was four years old, Christian devouts who believed his family’s souls were demonic because of their choices, but spared him for his age. The local authorities, unwilling to risk contending against the entire village, merely exiled Kazuki and his closest living relative, his grandfather, to brush over the past and forget he and his family had ever been there. Their home was burned, all of Kazukis childhood possessions destroyed, and with his grandfather forced to start all over again...
A desolate little house in the middle of nowhere became his home for the next part of his life where his grandfather, incensed by the death of his son (and incidentally a practicing Christian himself), began to train Kazuki in martial arts. Both master and student fueled themselves with rage, and every day they pushed themselves to the brink of exhaustion to train the young boy...As well as his combat studies, Kazuki also began to immerse himself in the religion of his parents as a tribute to them, and with every day his knowledge grew, along with the hatred of the men and women who had so brutally slain his parents before his eyes. All the time his fighting skills continued to improve. When he had reached the gentle age of twelve he was already meeting on par with his grandfather at times, able to spar properly without risk of injury to the boy...A bizarre thing, particularly his incredible increases in strength and speed, his adept ability to pick up on fighting techniques and his natural gift for fighting that meant his reflexes and instincts were sharper than would have been deemed normal.

Taking Revenge

Fast forward to when he was sixteen, and Kazuki has now fully mastered his arts after twelve years of daily training, his skill incomparable. Sadly, he had also developed a teenage rebellious streak, and had left his home after an argument with his grandfather over making his parents killers pay....Unwilling to accept that despite their horrific acts, they acted in their own faith, Kazuki grew angry, determined to exact his revenge. A few days later, he went off to train alone, or so he said....Arriving at his old hometown he struggled to walk down the street and smile at faces he knew were responsible for his parents murder, walking into the local temple....On Sunday. He kneeled with the others in 'prayer', calmly reciting his own versions of such things. Drawing attention from those around him, explanations were demanded at why a young man would come in and defile their temple with such heathens words. It was this that set things in motion, however, as when he refused to answer and was dragged to his feet by one of the others, the hood of his coat dropped down and revealed his face to the rest of them, a young man who was the spitting image of one long since dead, a man they themselves had rid of his life. The son of Sazuku Shinato.

He slaughtered everyone in that small building, either a person responsible or related to one of those that killed his parents, and desecrated the temple with their blood...The odd thing being was that Kazuki himself had only vague memory of the actions that took place, what little he could remember was like watching from the outside, as if it wasn't him himself who was exacting his revenge...Fleeing the village quietly after evading capture from the authorities, he returned home, knowing he would be forced to leave. Despite protest from his grandfather, he packed his things and bid his farewell, a young man with no home, on the road to a lonely life....His grandfather’s last parting gift being a small fortune his parents had saved for him over the years, originally intended for college payments. It wasn't a kings ransom by any means, translating roughly to $10'000, but it would have to sustain him until he could get on his feet himself...

Arriving In America

First course of action, he fled to America, arriving in New York where he would be able to disappear from his past, and upon arrival passed his immigration status, given indefinite status after saying he was here to study and granted a work permit. His first two years were difficult, and he found it hard to fit into the bustling lifestyle that came with a big city like New York, losing his job and failing his classes. Also heavily persecuted for his religious beliefs, he found himself at dead ebb, drinking a lot (fake I.D, purchased easily) and destroying his life....A fight in a bar on his eighteenth birthday caused by a remark about his dead mother ended in chaos when he lost his temper, and once again the demons from his past surfaced. He attacked the guy, and beat him, continued to beat him, and very nearly killed him....No remorse, no sorrow, he left the bloodied man at his feet as he once again fled the city, heading for Varron. Over time he began to control the anger within him, enough to be able to use it selectively and regain control as he did when he joined the school, making alliances with Shamino which led to his progression to wealth...The little European was one of the few who saw use for Kazukis 'unique' abilities, using him as a weapon in many organized snatch-and-grab missions, before time caused for him to dissolve the bond the two shared....

As Time Goes By...(Beginning of Varron storyline)

Now a senior at Varron Academy, Kazuki has endured many things in the last year...His rise to acclaim began with a tournament win in a brutal yet memorable bout with Sebastian, hurtling him to the top of Varrons leagues when previously he had been little other than a nameless face....His relationship with Victoria is constantly put under strain as a result of his thirst for strength, to become the best, and he has nearly died twice. The first was the result of an ongoing feud he, Jazz and Kokaku had with a biker gang, which resulted in Kokaku being kidnapped, held for ransom. It was clear that the whole thing was set up to kill Kokaku, Kazuki and anyone else who was involved, so he set about a plan to rescue Kokaku, a suicide mission of sorts...He took the risks, and it paid off as things came to a head with a vicious battle against Flint, the gangs leader, during which Kazuki suffered horrific injuries and nearly very well gave up, uncertain of his own strength....He pressed on though, spurred on by his friends hope and encouragement, and managed to steal the win, but not without its sacrifices. He spent a period of time paralysed due to the battle, but endured intense physiotherapy to heal and regain use of his legs.
Over time he has met a variety of people, including his close friend and student Jahova, a man who he took under his wing and trained him to defend himself. He had grown tired of watching as this defenseless kid was picked on by the merciless bullies of Varron, and thought it a good thing to show him to keep himself safe. In irony, he has grown close to him, and he considers Jahova high among the friends he has in the school. On top of it, he has given him a job and a home, realising that Jahova felt he needed to reciprocate for the lessons he was receiving. As a chargehand in The Edge (see personal assets) along with Kokaku, Kazuki places a lot of responsibility in him to run his establishment whilst he deals with....other business.
He shares his home with Akamaru and Kokaku, two students he met when he arrived, finding both to be homeless, but needing only an opportunity...The three live together in relative harmony, managing to not kill each other somehow, like regular teenagers...They sit around, have fun, drink beer from time to time and get on pretty well at home.
The board of directors of Varron have taken a particular dislike for Kazuki, particularly as he often stood against them in limiting trouble within the school, and in retaliation made him organise a tournament under his name....The tournament would not be like the normal ones held however, each match was set up with its own reasons to appease their quenchless desire for bloodshed, and if he refused to comply his friends were at risk....With no choice but to agree, he was not only the organiser, but forced to enter as well. A final match with Junni and Maverik, the poor girl being quickly dispatched, left Kazuki severely injured again, a previous injury from the fight with Flint jeopardizing his life...He left Varron for a short period of time, dealing with what he needed to and fixing his health, returning only when Maverik began his transition...(see Revelations storyline)
An ongoing rivalry with Maverik has been one of Kazukis biggest tests in Varron, and the two are constantly vying for the right to say he is the better of the two...First meeting when under employ of Shamino, Maverik helped Kazuki to quell his anger when his temper flared, ironically time switched the two sides as Maverik began to show signs of his own.....problems, (see Maveriks bio). The two concluded their rivalry in a heated match atop the school roof, concluded by a final, winning attack from Kazuki that sent Maverik flying off of the roof. When he went to see his body however, it was gone.....This drove Kazuki to begin to conquer the issues he has with his past, the secrets he holds and the burdens he has lived with.

Revelations Of A Beast

With the revelations came a whole new perspective for Kazuki….Finding himself alone for the first time in a long time, Kokaku having turned his back on him, a period of darkness arose for the young man as he struggled to accept the reality of his actions. In the school, he was viewed as nothing but a monster, a man who had been willing to kill his closest friend, and he lost the respect of many of his followers. Disgraced and fallen from grace, the former champion of the school was reduced to nothing more than a pariah in the eyes of his peers. However, in time, bridges would mend…With the approach of Dain Gavyns, he found solace in a new associate, a new member of his business, and a new partner for the same goals. Now he had found a reason to focus on other things, for when Dain had approached him it had been with the prospect of a new club, a venture that has been ongoing for around six months now, nearing its completion by late July, early August at the latest. Along with their work-based partnership, Kazuki has entrusted to Dain many of his darker secrets of his past, the reasons for his actions, and in time would trust him to assist with the ultimate escape from it all…

Kira Karyuudo, a love interest of Maveriks and someone who had loathed him for his actions, became someone he saw in a new light when she come to the club, searching him out…He had once promised her answers, on the night of his fight with Maverik, but that she would have to wait until he was in a better state to answer them. It so happened that she never forgot, and he eventually took the time to explain it. As difficult as it was, telling someone made the anger, the hatred die down for a short time. Leaving behind the bad memories in the sharing of his sadness brought him peace in his mind, and he began to understand the things he needed to do in life. Over time, things gradually returned to normal, if in Varron such a thing ever existed, and their way of life returned to a peaceful meandering through the days.

But, in Varron, peace never stays for long….

The Casualties Begin

Not too long later, a massive explosion ripped through the school, killing many students and injuring even more, at first it was suspected to be an accident, but soon it became clear that a new transfer student, Marcus, was behind it. A man of absolutely no morals or respect, he had performed this heinous act simply to show he could, and could do so without any repercussions…Incensed by the deaths of many of those he swore to protect, on a day he had been busy with a prior engagement, Kazuki returned to the site of the bombing and began to dig the rubble, many of the other students having the same idea, and soon it became one of the largest displays of unity seen among the students…For the first time, friends and enemies came together, rivals and gangs put aside their differences for the sole purpose of restoring what they realized now was their home, in its own little way. This event also marked Maveriks return, something Kazuki had been anticipating with enthusiasm now, but found soured by the death that surrounded them….However, a few days later, a memorial was created for the dead at Kazukis order, a solid black marble wall inscribing each name of the dead, a small shrine of sorts, and for the first time since the rooftop incident, he took a lead of the student body with Leon Loire and Maverik by his side for the first time in such an age. He knew that respect mattered little now; he knew that sometimes any hand to guide you in the darkness will be taken. With a short speech, he did what he could to rouse some strong camaraderie in the student body, and it seemed to work a little. Even when Marcus displayed the ultimate blasphemy and strode into the ceremony, he did what he could to maintain calm, approaching the murderer himself with his weapon held close. He could have killed him so easily, so simply, but threats of another bomb and worse stayed his hand…Unwilling to let it stand, he forced Marcus’ hand himself, challenging him and the rest of his group to a miniature tournament. The strongest of the Varron allies against Marcus and his little team of cronies…

With a hard fight, it was won for the school, but not without more casualties….Dain’s sister was held captive and severely injured as well, in an act that has yet to be reprimanded….

A Final Escape

With Marcus and his gang beaten, the school celebrated their success with the Winter Formal, a massive event organised by the few good members of the faculty and the student council for the end of the year, a way to ring out the last twelve months on something of a good note…(Graduation came with it as well, having been changed with the opening of the new wing of the school, paid in most part as a result of the tournament he hosted in aid of the funding for it. Along with the other donations made, Kazuki himself invested a million dollars directly into it, plus offered a grand prize of a million dollars to the winner of the tournament….)

On the night of the formal however, all was not well for Kazuki, and he and Victoria finally ended their tumultuous relationship, although on good terms. She was returning to New York, her time at Varron done, whereas he was staying to continue to be a watcher over the city and the school, and in truth they had become distant in recent months as it lay anyway…Having finished their dance and said their goodbyes, he left soon afterward to begin his future plans, something else was creeping up on the horizon…

Police had recently approached him, not just VCPD either; they were agents from Interpol and were tracking him down in connections with the killings he had performed in Japan. They weren’t bluffing either, he knew they had the information to convict him, but as it stood it was circumstantial. They couldn’t prove it was him yet, to do so they would need warrants, difficult things to get against him given his status in the city, but obtainable in time nonetheless. Aware that no matter how he looked at it, he would face a long jail sentence. A VERY long jail sentence, at that.

He couldn’t go to prison…Despite what he had done; he wouldn’t go to prison…

Along with Dain, he set about an elaborate plan, one which he would have only one chance to get right, and one which needed to be pinpoint from the word go….With time, he would fake his death.

After spending the time needed, he organised his finances and business assets before dividing them amongst his friends, giving each of them something to remember him by, make their life better, maybe even something they would see a joke within. Then, one night, it happened. He feigned his death, ingesting a powerful cocktail of sedatives and barbiturates to send his body into a near comatose state, a very powerful drug that was able to massively increase his bodies production of oxygen in his blood, helping to further the fake by eliminating his need to breathe, and various other substances, all supporting in one way or another the image of his ‘fatal overdose’….Along with various other people having been paid off, including coroners and police officials, he was dealt a death certificate. Kazuki Shinato no longer existed, except as a corpse, and a speedy funeral came…

However, later that night, the final stages began. Maverik and Dain returned to the cemetery, shovels in hand to dig up his coffin…Upon arriving at the casket, a powerful reactant was injected directly into his bloodstream. Soon afterward, the first air re-entered his lungs as the deceased Kazuki Shinato ‘rose from the dead’. Spending only the shortest of times exchanging mild conversation, struggling to regain his strength after the last four days in physical limbo, he focused mostly on getting back enough energy to escape. With a bag he had left instruction for Dain to bring with him, he switched clothes, destroyed every piece of evidence of them having had been there and began to refill his own grave. With that last thing done, he took a small film from Maverik, the taping of his funeral, apparently there were things he needed to see on it, but until now he had not the faintest idea of what he would have had to expect.

Returning to the apartment complex, he bid his final farewells before hopping atop his motorcycle and leaving the city, heading to the airport for his flight to South America where he has hidden for the last six months, training in backstreet gyms in the local styles, mastering the language and waiting for his time to return….Keeping up to date on things back in Varron thanks to a few well-placed contacts, he was constantly updated with the news of things in the school, in the city, in his club. He has chosen a time when the balance can be shifted, when the struggles can be influenced…Among the many things he has returned for, he has come home to take it all back...With a powerful gang rising under his rule, his focus on Kvist and the Hand tightens closely on the upcoming battle. Legion are many, and ruthless with enemies, the next chapter in this story is soon to unfold, and it's likely to be a bloody one.

The End Of An Era...

In time, the army of Legion grew with tremendous speed, amassing a force that rivaled most of the gangs in the city in size and power within a few months, and Taiku, as he has reborn himself, began to use the gangs strength to begin a direct war against the Hand of Fate…Small spatters that came about here and there occurred, and while it took a long while for it to come to pass, the inevitable happened. A direct meeting between Kvist and Taiku took place, the lunatic being given the chance to look into the eyes of a man he had hoped dead. However, no violence emerged between the two at this moment. Taiku offered a ‘challenge’ to his enemy, a test of strength, the best of Legion against the best of The Hand, with the result to swing in Legions favour forcing the clearly inferior Kvist into a bloodmatch against Taiku. He would have been annihilated by the powerful gang leader, but it was not to be as Kvist schemed against him, attacking the Edge with a powerful assault from the Hand to attempt and destroy Legion in a single swoop…His fault had lain in assuming Taiku naïve and unable to see that a man like Kvist was not to be trusted, and while the attack was expected, and the Hand ultimately fended off, the Edge was still destroyed beyond repair, many people injured in the attack including a great deal of Legion members.

Meanwhile, as everything was unfolding however, Taiku was gradually changing as a man…Things that he considered moot in his life were now rapidly becoming more and more valuable, he began to grow up more in his head, his maturity vastly increasing as the idea of leaving behind his troubled past, his horrors, and starting a new life and perhaps, god-willing, a family, began to take more of an appealing nature to him. In this respect, his eyes were caught by one young woman, Kira Karyuudo…Someone he had never in all his years thought he would find himself attracted to, though solely based on the attention she received from several other students of the academy and having no interest in battling for affections. However, he now found himself drawn to this woman, and over time the two have shared a couple of moments of brief, lingering affection, but with neither yet speaking any more of it, and he yet to admit his heart to her fully, he finds himself at a crossroads with this….

All the while, with his return, Victoria Alexander had a few revelations of her own…During an impromptu visit to the site of his grave, he was somewhat surprised to find her there. Waiting in the shadows for her to leave, he approached the site and looked down to see a small piece of paper, a photograph…

It was a sonograph picture, of the child Victoria had been pregnant with during his absence. The child she had lost when she had undergone chemotherapy…The discovery shattered the man, he was broken to pieces by it and as a result spent nearly a month in complete solitude, choosing to exile himself from everyone he knew. His broken heart took a long time to heal, and is in fact still susceptible to impact from such a topic, but as of late he has gradually regained a sense of self, bringing himself back into the front lines, confronting Miss Alexander herself, along with one of her friends, Tak. This man had created trouble for him for a fair while during his return, in simple effect attempting to force the businessman from the city by forcing his hand, dealing information to individuals that regarded his return, effectively endangering him and all who knew him….Forcing Tak into a confrontation, Taiku made clear that any further reaction by Tak would have severe consequences for the man and his group, faced with the prospect of Taiku responding with considerably vicious force. However, the appearance of Victoria during the discussion brought several home truths to light, and Taiku removed all chance of the two of them reconciling following their split a year before….His heart belonged to another, and to her only….

With his business destroyed, Taiku was forced to claim in the insurance on the club, the large sum of money enough for him to sit back and consider what to do next when the other students are forced onto their transfers…Making his way to San Francisco, following the people he was closest to, he left to start afresh, without the blood on his old name, and with the chance to seek that which has eluded him for many years…

...And The Beginning Of A New One. (Beginning of Hircine storyline)

In time, a new club was formed in San Francisco, in honour of the former gang, named Legion. Taiku has established the club well and with a savagely aggressive marketing ploy, bringing a successful revenue profit through the doors within a couple of months. During this time, his relationship with Kira Karyuudo has grown from flirtatious behaviour, such as their 'altercation' the previous Hallowe'en, to a fully fledged relationship. The two quickly grew closer over the coming months, and she has begun to chip through the barriers he has never lowered since Victorias betrayals in the previous years...

In the meantime, however, a particularly important event was on the horizon for the young man...An auspicious telegram from Japan arrived, his grandfather summoning him back immediately. Knowing that he would not be requested back without good cause, he caught the first available flights home, and despite a slight drama at customs and excise returned to his former home for the first time in many years. To simplify a rather convoluted matter, it was revealed that he was not the youngest surviving member of his family, but that he had a cousin as well. Due to problems with the wrong kind of people, the girls safety wasn't guaranteed in Japan any longer, and with something of a begrudged agreement, Taiku has offered her a home in America.

Around this time, certain things began to reach a peak for Taiku as he reclaimed his former title as a tournament champion, struggling to a hard-fought victory through three devastatingly skilled opponents, climaxing in a final against a former member of Legion, Odin Reeves. Clinching the victory, however, Taiku has set it to himself that he will fight in one last tournament to defend his title, and win or lose, retire from competitive combat. During this, he shared something of an enlightening talk with his first round opponent, Adam Rydell. The two had fought twice before, both with victories in Taikus favour, and the tournament made it three in a row. However, Taiku had qualms with the decision and questions whether he could have beaten Adam once again if there were no restrictions, no ring, no crowds. In a genuine promise, he has sworn a rematch with the young man to see, once and for all, who would be the winner.

Barely a couple of weeks passed before the house of cards came tumbling down, however, when Kira was attacked in her dorm room...Sensing that only a handful of people would be stupid enough to do so granting her connections, not to mention the security of the dorms as it were, Taiku set his sights on blood, that of Kvist and any Hand member he could get his hands on. Sure enough, within an hour of the event taking place, Dean Johnston was taken captive and subjected to a particularly savage torture, culminating in his eye being cut out in a furious demonstration of just how willing Taiku is to prevent harm to those close to him. In the process, information extracted was enough to give Taiku a good advantage on where to find the leader of the Hand, the filthy little scumbag that had been a problem for him for too long. Whilst he hasn't acted upon it as of yet, it's merely a question of the opportune moment.

A few weeks would pass before their chance came to strike at the very heart of the group who had plagued them, but when it did, it did so with a fury that will remain in memory for the rest of their lives. Combined forces of the Watchmen and Legion stormed Kvists warehouse where he and the rest of the Hand lay in hiding, and after a furious gunfight between the sides the sadistic youth was struck upon by a driven Kazuki who impaled him upon Izou, moments before the warehouse exploded. Thankfully, surprisingly enough, nobody was severely hurt by the blast itself, seeming more to serve purpose in destroying the building than its contents.

And So, A Year Will Pass...

With Kvist dead and gone, the Hand no longer a threat, a tentative peace emerged for Kazuki and those around him. In time, even MacMillan himself was defeated by another group, removing what would have been the only remaining true threat to any of the Varronites. In this new spell of peace, Kazuki took to a quieter life, content simply to be with his family and friends and to manage his business, with the occasional amusement of competing in a tournament here and there. All the while, however, there seemed to be one person who still wanted to stir things up.

Adam 'Pain Killer' Rydell, the youth he had fought in a rather impromptu match at Legion itself, and several times within tournaments, seemed to have made it a mission of his to defeat the former champion and veteran. Oddly, despite this, a peculiar dynamic emerged between the pair, and though they would fight several times with increasing ferocity, a respect and friendship followed it. Initially amused by Adams stubborn nature and determination to defeat the senior fighter, he grew to understand the nature of the young man and even began to relish the thought of fighting someone without restriction, but without malice or other ill-feeling to fuel it. Despite several losses, eventually Adam would secure himself a victory in a fight on the waterfronts, finally besting the older male.

Yet, despite acknowledging the achievement, Kazuki was not ready to give up and admit defeat, secretly planning that sooner or later, he will fight and reclaim his superiority over the youth, intent to see if he lightning can indeed strike twice.

During this time, Kazuki also hosted a Valentines day event at Legion, organising a human raffle to pair off people with expenses-paid dates for charity. Ironically, one of those would end up being Adam himself. During this, however, a much more shocking revelation came to pass. The return of Victoria Alexander. Having traveled across the country, she appeared somewhat out of the blue in San Francisco, making her presence known to Kazuki during the event. The pair would eventually play catch-up, of a sort, and though he held some initial hostility toward her for the past, he has since allowed the hatchet to be buried.

Most recently, Kazuki suffered a serious health crisis at Legion, collapsing from severe liver failure that hospitalised him much to the shock of those around him. To no surprise, he was rather heavily chastised by them for his omission of his health problems, and after severe apologies to them, most specifically Kira whose anger was perhaps the most ferocious, he has begun recoveries. However, rather than just allowing himself to return to normal health, Kazuki has returned to training as he once had, taking various excursions away to train in solitude as he had done in the past. Utilising weighted clothing to increase his challenge, he has beaten and battered his body to its former luster, and his strength hasn't just begun to return, it has begun to rise back to its former maximum from many years ago. Surpassing the injuries he has suffered, he intends to return to his best, and is growing closer to it with every passing day

On The Road Again...(Beginning of Chula Storyline)

Time wrought its hand on the Akimoto family as the months passed, with Kazuki failing to meet his fight with Adam after the revelation that the younger male was leaving the area...Inwardly saddened at the apparent disappearance of someone he considered a close rival and friend, he settled into his training and work with Legion further. As a result, he set into a rut without realising it. Kira had left for university not long after, though he'd known that would happen for a while, and Reiko was back home with her father for a few months...

Five months passed of nothing. Waking up, going to work, returning home, sleeping. It had to stop, and when it did, it did so rather spectacularly.

Kazuki returned from Legion one night and implored the others to begin packing...He wanted out of the Marina district, away from any remaining trace of Kvist and the Hand, away from the memory of a place that held only limited good memory for him. Unlike before, however, the transition was not quite so large. Legion remained under his ownership, albeit with a collection of staff now in place as management, so traveling back and forth had to be at least somewhat easy.

Arriving in San Diego, he discovered that an astonishing amount of free time meant two things: Firstly, an ability to do whatever you like, when you like, and train to his hearts content. Secondly, in direct correlation to the first, he got bored very quickly. Looking over for simple jobs, something he could do that didn't involve a club or a bar, he came across an appeal for faculty at one of the local schools in a district called Chula Vista. After laughing off the ridiculousness of the name, he noted the particular position they were looking for.

Language teacher? Kazuki already had his cell out of his pocket....

~Combat Details~

Grades:

Strength: B - A low level 'B' grade, applies mostly to the impact power Kazuki can develop as a result of his quickness and the simplicity, once a hold has its grasp, that he can manipulate a larger foe. For his size he's strong, quite so in fact, but that's all.

Dexterity: B - A very high 'B' due to his extraordinary agility and evasive capabilities coupled with his lightning-fast striking speed, Kazuki can outmaneuver most fighters of his build relatively easily and is capable of slipping out the trickiest of spots thanks to those reflexes.

Constitution: B - As high a rank (though a low 'B') as it is for one reason. Size to capability comparison. For a man of his size, Kazuki is capable of withstanding a ridiculous amount of punishment due to some of his less...favourable experiences and sheer guts. However, whilst he might be able to get back up after those blows, it's his mind pushing him after his body has given in.

Wisdom: B - Borderline 'A' rank, Kazuki possesses over twenty years of experience as a martial artist, more than some people twice his age and certainly more than most of the students at Fremont. For many, he's trained longer than they've been on this Earth. As an Aikido practitioner, the principle of 'mushin' was introduced to him as a child, a mental exercise to obtain clarity as one fights, free of anger and ego, instead seeing only the opponent, giving him a depth of combat perception that is staggering.

Fighting Style: A Shihan of Rokyudan level (one of the youngest in the world), Kazuki fights with a modified variant of traditional Aikido (which he has studied for twenty-two years), altered to incorporate the 'streetfighting' nature Kazuki has adapted along with the Ju-Jutsu that was learned during his time hiding in Rio. Heavily defensive, exploiting his speed and reflexes to their peak, Kazuki rarely throws the first blow in a fight, but often the first that lands. Despite close to two decades of experience in martial arts, he implements the simplest of moves to take on his opponents, preferring to beat them with as little effort and as quickly as possible. He will often focus moreso on quicker punches and, if possible, joint traps, able to take advantage of his opponents weight to his own favour. Typically, due to his extreme quickness and faith in his abilities, he rarely holds a true stance with raised guard, instead adapting one similar to the 'Haisui No Jin' (or depending on perception, 'Mugyou') form with his hands hanging barely at his waist, feet somewhat parted and with one of his feet -slightly- forward.

Strengths: For his build, he's stronger than your average, but it pales in comparison to his speed and evasive capability. Gifted with exceptional reflexes due to nearly twenty years of martial arts training and a deep understanding of the principle of 'mushin', Kazuki is a difficult man to hit and an even harder one to catch. His punches may not pack brute strength, but the speed they're delivered at makes them no laughing matter for anyone, even bigger fighters. After recent training excursions, using weights to increase his resistance and resilience, his stamina and endurance have skyrocketed to their former maximum again, and if it were possible, he's faster now than he's been in years.

Weaknesses: Pound for pound, he can outmatch most fighters of his build in strength, but that's about it. Most larger fighters will be stronger than him in the brute strength category, and if he's caught, it can prove disastrous for him. Many old injuries from fights still trouble him, not least his kidneys and liver, which actually sent him to hospital after failing him. Despite his endurance being high, these injuries can be exploited to weaken him by striking in their corresponding areas.
