Eric was in his position in the courtyard, off to the side of the target area. He needed to have visual contact with Matt to be able to make the portals appear. He had his comm device on the inside of his coat collar.
"Magic Man is in position. What's your status Firebug? Jumper?"

There's a light display going on in the courtyard! Oh wait, that's Clyde. Same thing. Rebecca comes over to see what he's doing, enjoying the juggling as he talks to Matt, who probably thinks she's poison ivy or some other dangerous wall-hugging stuff.
Eric wiggled his fingers and concentrated on the spot right above Matt. He didn't want to mess this up. But he needed to act now while he was stationary and distracted! He couldn't miss, there was just one shot.
He'd open up the portal above Matt, focusing on dropping two dozen rotten eggs on him! But far enough away to not also hit Clyde.
Rebecca gives tiny applause to Clyde, also wary that he might accidentally set someone, including himself, on fire. Still, kudos for going at it like he is.
"What the hell?!" One minute she's watching Clyde, and the next the sky takes a shit. Rebecca's shrill scream quickly turns into a sound of disgust as a portal full of rotten eggs falls on her! She quickly steps back and wipes as much of it away from her eyes and face as she can while trying not to gag on the already rotten gunk that's oozed on her lips.
And of course, it got better. Already covered in egg goop, she started backing away from the flaming grass.
"Clyde!" Matt leaps forward as he tries to stomp the fire out, to no avail! He doesn't see the eggs fall on Rebecca, though he does hear the scream. He chalks that off to the fire and is too preoccupied to give it more thought than that.
The eggs are literally appearing out of nowhere, but Rebecca's a little more worried about the spreading flames. She starts looking around to see if there's any equipment outside that can handle the flames.
