Enya had waited until it was late evening to set up in the cafeteria. No one was around at the moment, so she was able to turn off all the lights and set up the mood with some lit candles.
They smelled like pine.
On the table was a ouija board, all set up and ready to be messed with for spooks. Or maybe even just communicating with the potential ghost of a dead agent!? Or whatever spirits might still be hanging here.
Or you know it could all be for fun and someone will just be moving the planchette to mess with everyone. Anything's good.
She had extended an invitation to anyone she had passed that day, and eagerly awaited for at LEAST one person to show. But the more the merrier.
Rebecca was absolutely going to be there, barring an apocalypse or room stuffed with people. Since Enya had found a board, she didn't ring her own with her, but dressed the part in flowing dark clothes and a mischievous smile as she entered the cafeteria.
She had also brought a single black pillar candle, ultimately deciding on the color for aesthetics, and set it down with the others.
"Hi, Enya." She looks at the setup. "Wonder how many ghosts we could find." Or not. But Paradigm wasn't exactly a normal place.
Aaron finished his homework hours ago and didn't have any compelling plans for his evening, so he decided to drop by too! He didn't have much in the way of occasion-appropriate gear or clothes, but he did dress in black and enter the cafeteria under a shroud of darkness, easy enough when all the lights were off already. Just to be a little dramatic he has it slowly peel off him bit by bit until he finally emerges from the shadows entirely at the table.
"Hey, thanks for the invite."
He'd been surprised to be randomly walked up to and invited, but why not?
Rebecca huffs and rolls her eyes at the light show.
"Quit ruining the mood, Eric." The new guy with the shadow trick helped with that, a little. It had her interest, up until Clyde arrived. She nodded.
"Absolutely. You never know who - or what - will answer." She let her voice drop dramatically at the end, looking around furtively as if to expect a ghoul to jump ut from the shadows not provided by Aaron.
She sets up by lighting the giant three wick pillar and settles beside Enya.
He'd pout at Rebecca but he'd settle down and keep the lights off. Dropping the flashlight into a portal as he settled down on the other side of Enya. He wasn't really expecting anything real to come from this. But it seemed fun, certainly better than chilling that the dorm alone.
Enya would glance around, deciding she's too excited to start to wait any longer! Once everyone finds a spot...or finds a new one in Rebecca's case...Enya would look at all those gathered!
"Okay. I never ran one of these before, so bear with me! Rebecca if I do it wrong let me know. But! As far as I remember we all just gotta find a spot on the planchette and then we can get started. Oh! And there's usually a person who records the letters so we can put them all together but I think we can all try and do that in our heads, right? Are you all ready?"
She places her hands on the planchette, waiting for the others to do the same.
"Excellent! So Aaron will record the letters." she decrees to make it official.
"Now everyone get your hands on the planchette and we'll get started! Does anyone want to try and summon the spirit? Just call out and make it feel welcomed!"
If that didn't end up scaring them away. Shaking her head at Clyde's rhyme (ha! Look what I did), Rebecca keeps her fingers lightly placed on the planchette and closes her eyes. Tucking a deep breath, she tucks her chin slightly and begins a short invocation.
"Spirits, hear me!" Her voice is low and clear, building momentum as she goes. "We seek to those who are on the other side, or remain with us. If you can hear us, please tell us your message." Her voice goes almost hollow by the end before she looks up with a smile.
"Now we ask a question and, if the spirits want to answer, they will use is by moving the planchette." She taps the disk with one finger.
