He's trying to be nice! All things considered Aaron would have the right to be a bit of a jerk about the "tried to pelt you with baseballs" thing but there's not much point stressing over it. Though now that he can put a name to the face...
"I actually have heard of you, just haven't seen you before."
There is a part of him that wants to befriend Silas just out of spite, now.
"You're the son of one of the old Directors, good with tech, bit cold. Not too many people here know you very well yet, say you prefer gadgets to people. Your parents aren't exactly thrilled you're here, wouldn't be even if there weren't a war that could go hot again any minute."
It's cheating, because some of what he knows isn't gossip from the corridors, it's his own knowledge of Paradigm history - like what the name "Calloway" means - and what he's heard from active-duty Paradigmers like his own parents.
"They're not bad. I'm sure yours means well, too."
Well, from the stories he's heard about Seth Calloway, maybe they didn't. But he's being deliberately optimistic. What kind of parents don't want the best for their children?
Aaron shrugs. "Obviously I said something that upset you. I didn't mean to hurt you, and I felt guilty, especially when you were being helpful earlier."
Pretty simple. Pretty apparent the dude's not really up for a conversation though. "If you want space though, I'll give it to you. Come find me if you'd like to train together sometime, I guess."
Aaron will let Silas go if he wants to leave! Even though he's heard Silas isn't exactly a class act, he really does feel bad about hurting the dude. Sometimes a guy just needs space though.
Any chance he caught what any of that muttering was?
