More references, more, and more.

Eyes: Bright blue.

Ethnicity: Caucasian.

Nationality: American.

Grade: First year university.

School: O'Hare University.

Build: Powerful, he has well defined muscles of almost bodybuilder size and definition. His arms and legs are now equal in definition, having gone under extensive training while watching over his sister. Of the only visible scars he has, one goes through the end of his right eyebrow, as well as one on each hand from where his brother crucified him against a church's doors. Despite the amount of fights he's been in, most of his injuries have not left a scar.

Personality:
Very proud of his abilities, to the point where he will fight simply for the fact to prove that he is the best. Has difficulty connecting to people, since his early years weren’t spent socializing. Often pessimistic, angry, and outright rude, though he does have his moments where his playful manner will surface. Unfortunately, given his lack of friends, this is rarely seen in a positive situation, instead, often manifesting itself as taunting and arrogance towards his opponents. No longer suffers from Multiple Personality Disorder. His intelligence is questionable at times, though he has impressive fighting instincts.

Mya's influence on his personality has been subtle, but still significant. No longer does Adam pick fights for no real reason, and he has become somewhat more open with those around him, most notably, those who he's had some positive interactions with in the past.

History:
Born into a family of five, Adam believed his early years were normal. However, as he grew older, he noticed his family all suffered from mental illnesses, or as he called it, “The Darkness”, which grew into being a female voice in his mind, telling him to do horrible things.

Because of this voice, he wound up getting into fights at school, and killing several pets of his “friends”, who quickly stopped seeing him afterwards. His parents drove his sister out of the house early on, and his brother soon thereafter, believing them to be “spawns of the devil”, thanks to their mental disorders. Being too young to remember, Adam went on to believe he was an only child. Believing their youngest son would follow in the same footsteps as his siblings, Adam’s parents placed him in the car and began to drive him deep into the forest, intent on abandoning him to fate.

However, fate seemed to have other plans for young Adam.

His parents died in a car accident on the way there, leaving the ten year old without a family. Soon thereafter, he was adopted into a foster home, where “The Darkness” would fade into the recesses of his mind, not be heard from again for several years. He would leave after one week to hitchhike to the farthest place he could get to: New Orleans. From an early age, he roamed the streets picking fights for money. When he turned fifteen, he was picked up by a drug dealer and was used as a "collector", beating up people who had not paid their debts. He had the singular talent of being able to take massive amounts of abuse, since he had been in fights for all his life. After he was sent to "collect" from a particularly attractive female, she used her feminine charms to manipulate him into turning on the man who had taken him in and stealing drugs for her. After doing everything she asked, she dumped him for another man.

This drove him mad, and he demanded to fight her new boyfriend, believing that he could not be defeated. The boyfriend, Trent, soundly defeated Adam and left him for dead in the gutter. As he lay dying in the street, a long forgotten voice whispered in his mind, promising to give him life for his obedience in return.

He crawled his way to a hospital and recovered.

Despite his recovery, he knew he could never defeat Trent with the attributes he currently possessed. Up until this point, he had relied upon wearing out his opponent with his constitution, but it had not worked on Trent, so he joined a local boxing team in order to learn how to put more power into his punches.

Vowing revenge, he followed Trent to Japan, where Trent was being trained to enter a fighting tournament. Adam entered the tournament in disguise, and in the final round, fought with Trent. Trent believed that the masked man was some sort of joke, and at first barely took the fight seriously. As the battle raged on, he quickly discovered that his opponent was taking everything he was dishing out. Adam then managed to throw Trent out of the ring after feigning injury, and then unmasked himself. Beaten and humiliated, Trent jumped off a bridge into his seemingly inevitable death, but when Adam went to where he had seen Trent's body wash ashore, it was gone.

Believing Trent was no longer a threat, Adam lived in Japan for a while. He decided to make money in a legitimate way, and entered the teenage boxing arena for a while, but soon felt that he was missing something in his life. “The Darkness” had receded again, not directly giving him orders anymore but instead influencing his mind with subtlety.

Deciding that he might as well go back to America, he enrolled in Varron Academy, not knowing what sort of school it was. He would need an education in order to get a career that would pay any sort of money he could live off of.

Varron History:
From the first day he was enrolled, Adam found out he fit in quite well with the rest of the students at Varron Academy. Among them, he was considered almost normal. He even made his first friend, Lain Miasa, who later on was inexplicably able to keep “The Darkness” at bay with her very presence.

After learning about the bombings performed by Marcus Lawson, he was determined to meet the man, but this brought him into conflict with one Bruce Gillis. The two started off with a friendly rivalry, but during a match in the woods, they were interrupted by Kazuki Shinato, who proceeded to soundly defeat the fatigued Pain Killer. Upon awakening, he found that “The Darkness” had returned, inspiring him once again to find Marcus. Using more ruthless tactics, he caught the attention of the man in question and had his meeting, where he learned he wasn’t quite up to the standards needed.

Determined to prove himself, he went on a rampage in the streets under Her supervision, killing several gang members and an innocent civilian. This brought him to the attention of Dain Gavins, who managed to put an end to his destructive assault. Yet, it seemed that Dain was more intent on helping him overcome his disorder, rather then punish him for it.

Following that incident, Adam tried to make up for some of what he had done, saving a student from a gang beating while barely surviving the results. The beating, however, unlocked “The Darkness” in his mind once again; undoing what mental barrier had been set up from his friendship with Lain, and making him flee the school, horrified at what he could have done. After attacking another girl, he was confronted by Lain and Dain again, who managed to drive “The Darkness” from his mind, leaving him painfully vulnerable.

Having been freed from Her influence, he set out to begin redeeming himself for his past mistakes, even going so far as to obtain a tournament victory. Unfortunately, his often extreme methods of combatting those he saw as "evil" would often dwell in his mind, forcing Adam to label himself as being the very monster he fought to combat. This cycle would continue for quite some time, forcing the young man to doubt himself as well as his abilities, until finally he came to a conclusion. He would perform one last act of redemption, then end his life. His chosen act would be to assist Pan Yi Xiao in experiencing positive feelings again, something it seemed she had given up, given his impression from meeting her on the few occasions they interacted.

Still, progress was slow, something he was not used to.

Even as this trend continued, Adam would be confronted with a demon from his past. Trent had followed him to Varron, armed with medical documents that proved the two are, in fact, brothers. Still, despite this newfound knowledge, Adam refused to follow his brother, after learning through their conversation that Trent was unstable, his suspiscions soon being proven as Trent crucified Pain Killer against a nearby church's doors, driving two daggers through Adam's hands. While pinned to the holy building, Trent gave his brother an inappropriately intimate kiss, scarring Adam's mind permanently. While he was eventually saved by Bruce and Dain, Adam has still been unable to recover from this incident, leaving him terrified at the thought of facing his brother in combat again. Despite urgings from many other students, including Bruce and Kyukaku, Adam has refused to intervene against his brother, even after hearing of the horrible things he has done.

Fresh off of recovery from his run-in with his brother, Pain Killer would soon be encountered by another student who would give him a purpose for his life, other than drifting as he had been doing thus far. After saving a student from a few bullies in a particularly violent fashion, Adam would be confronted by one Stern Mason. Stern saw right through Adam's motives, calling Pain Killer a monster, but one that had his uses. Placing the blame on the school system itself, Stern easily swayed Adam into following his orders, the older student's loyalty falling behind only Zeniro, Stern's second in command. Under Stern's direction, Adam and his partner Aryck came into conflict with several of those Pain Killer may have called "friends" earlier, including Kyukaku and Bruce.

For a long time, Adam continued to follow Stern, doing the younger man's dirty work without hesitation, though soon, at home, he found a welcome surprise.

His sister had found him. Mya was still alive. Overjoyed at the fact that he now had someone who, despite her own troubles, cared for him on an emotional level, Adam found himself in the rarest of happy moods. The two would often talk late into the night, and through these conversations, Pain Killer began to find fault in his blind loyalty to Stern. Yet, he would never get the chance to act upon these new feelings, as Kvist and his Hand of Fate soon set into motion a series of events that closed down Varron Academy. In an odd twist of fate, Adam found that the day before he was sent to San Francisco with a fair number of the former Varron students, his sister had been kidnapped from his home, a fact that still haunts Pain Killer to this day.

Hircine History:

Upon arriving in San Francisco, Adam did the first thing that came to mind in a new area: make a name for himself. Immediately after obtaining the knowledge that there was a Pillar system intact at Hircine High, Adam set out to challenge the resident School Captain Darren Blayne. However, after a grueling fight, the self-proclaimed Pain Killer found that it was not his hand raised in victory, and was left unconscious on the school grounds. Such a loss was infuriating, picking at Adam's mind with a ruthless nature, and after hearing that Kazuki was still alive from his new roommate Kyukaku, Pain Killer demanded to be led to the formerly "deceased" gang leader. Once again, rather than leaving bygones be bygones, Adam's pride forced him to pick a fight with the older man, one that eventually led to his defeat. Weeks later, the two met again in a battle during a tournament, where Taiku once again came out victorious, once again tearing into Pain Killer's increasingly fragile pride. Oddly enough, the next day, the depressed Rydell boy ran into Taiku for a third time, who managed to restore Pain Killer's faith in himself.

Fresh off his newest battle, Adam returned home to find a letter addressed to him from a mystery man, one that turned out to be a Shuya Katsumoto, who promised him a chance at being a School Pillar, in return for assisting him with his own goals. Eager to put an end to his recent losses and reclaim some glory, Adam accepted. Yet, another face from Adam's past soon surfaced, as Stern Mason had also been transferred to Hircine High.

The recent battles began to weigh heavily on Pain Killer's mind, but the worst of all was yet to come.

Stern's plan, ultimately, was a failure, his toying with Pain Killer's views playing havoc with the older student's mind once again. With Stern's incarceration, Adam was left once again on his own, forcing him to develop his own plan to get Mya back. While Taiku and those who sided with him dealt with Kvist's Hand of Fate, Pain Killer raided Trent's home, rescuing Mya while his brother was away. Her critcal condition required him to take her to the hospital, and while there, Mya managed to change Adam's mind, convincing him to stay in San Francisco rather than head back home to New Orleans. The two lived together off campus, Pain Killer watching dutifully over his sister while looking to simply survive in San Francisco. Aside from matters that concern Mya, Adam seemed to have calmed down, rarely getting into conflicts with others, as he used to.

Once his brother was incarcerated, however, Pain Killer found himself growing more and more uneasy at home. Despite having a decent source of income working at Club Legion, and a budding kinship with Kazuki, who had in fact employed the youngest surviving Rydell after he had finally managed a victory over the older man, Adam couldn't shake the feeling that he had missed something, something important. Now that his sister was safe, Pain Killer could devote himself to finishing what he'd started before.

Picking a fight with his former roommate, Kyukaku, once more, the two fought to a draw for once, rather than the usual victory in Pain Killer's favour. The battle had turned out to be more of a test, rather than an actual fight, as Pain Killer knew of the younger man's tendancy to play the hero, and had wanted to make sure he would be able to survive without him watching his back. Meeting with Kazuki once more, Adam would ask him to watch over his sister in his absence, and the two would drink into the night, sending the youngest surviving Rydell off in style.

With everything in order with those he had grown close to, Pain Killer would meet with Ran Ling Xiao, reliving past memories from the few times they'd met before, and having her point him in the last known direction of her cousin.

Return to Varron:

New York was almost the exact same as Adam had remembered it during the days after Varron had closed down. Without Kvist and his Hand of Fate, the gangs had all but disappeared, leaving the streets eerily silent. The school had been refurbished, the club Pain Killer had worked in before heading to San Francisco had closed down, and the warehouse the tournaments used to be held in had been bought and filled with actual storage. Even the forest, which had often housed fighters training in the relaxing setting of nature, seemed empty. Despite visiting all these places and more, Pain Killer found no sign of the woman he'd intended to track down. With his pride refusing to allow him to head back to San Francisco with nothing to show for it, Adam would rent an apartment in Varron, relying on the prize money from underground fights as well as a part time job in order to support himself.

Weeks, then months, and finally years passed of the same routine, day in and day out. Throughout it all, Pain Killer's original goal began to fade, slowly being replaced by a growing apathy. Resigning himself to the direction his life had taken him, Adam would make no effort to reunite with his sister, believing her still under Kazuki's care. After so much time had passed, however, Pain Killer would receive a phone call from Mya, informing him of her plans to go to college in San Francisco. After finding out that Kazuki had left the area, Pain Killer had finally found his excuse to leave Varron.

Status: Active
Relation: Brother
Trent has seemingly survived his troubled childhood, and is now targeting Adam in order to bring his brother under his control. Perverted, psychotic, and downright evil, Trent became a threat to many of the citizens of Varron city. Upon finding his brother transferred, Trent followed him to San Francisco. Currently incarcerated in San Francisco's maximum security prison.

Fighting Style:
In a word, suicidal. Pain Killer has no qualms against taking damage in order to deal damage, as indeed, it is his strategy 99% of the time. The majority of his attacks use punches. He sees kicks as distasteful, and the cowards way of keeping someone at a distance instead of fighting close, however he still uses them if he sees an opportunity. He enjoys fighting dirty. He'll often taunt when there is a break in the fighting, and he enjoys a good challenge. Tends to go for limb-disabling attacks, as they usually end the fight much more quickly, and will utilize wrestling submission holds that he has seen on TV, often to a more devestating result than his televised counterparts.

Initial Grades:

Strength: B
Dexterity: E
Constitution: B
Wisdom: C

Strengths:
His punches are powerful and he has a high endurance of pain from all the beatings he grew accustomed to as a child. His taunting sometimes works on opponents who are susceptible to such tactics. In making his own style, he can surprise his opponents. Arrogance makes him refuse to give up in cases where he is seemingly outmatched, sometimes bringing him victory from the jaws of defeat through sheer endurance. The sheer number of fights he's been in has given him impressive instincts in a fight, overcoming his simple minded nature.

Weaknesses:
Kicks aren't nearly as strong as most fighters, and given his lack of flexibility, any kick above waist height would hardly be worth using. By making his own style, it hasn't been tested against many experienced fighters, so there could be many weaknesses in it. This also means that he has trouble recognizing styles of his opponents, and therefore cannot compensate to counteract, leaving him to improvise on the fly. His size makes him a large target, and forces him to obviously be slower than those smaller than himself. He is an arrogant fighter, who is just as likely to taunt his opponent as he is to take a swing at him. If he loses his confidence, he loses his will to fight. Due to his mental battle with “The Darkness”, he is now easily manipulated by those who are skilled in such arts, making him an easy target for some mind games.
