"I...okay?" She blinks, looking from Mike to the robot in hopes of a better explanation that isn't leaving a person to talk with their mouth full of food.
"I guess eggs florentine then?" She may be up, but she's not in a mood to argue anything.
"Maybe. To be honest, I have no idea. Never been down here so early."
He'd certainly never seen that particular robot in his time at Paradigm, but it looked familiar. Maybe from a story he'd heard of his family's younger days, maybe not. Everything was a little jumbled right now, he'd have needed to have gotten up at ten at least to be able to give a good answer right now. At least it was warm, between Paradigm's indoor heating and the energy of so many students gathered at this unholy hour and, you know, Piper treating him like a bed. Not that he minded. They'd only known each other... what, a few days, so maybe if he were awake enough he'd be rolling with it a little less. Who knows. A dinosaur could sit next to them and right now, with the fog over his brain, he'd just shrug. Besides, it felt nice. He was comfortable.
"Certainly hadn't heard about a robot chef in my time here, though."

Piper didn't seem to care. She didn't pry into his musings and, instead, set her drink down on the table. To warm her hands up, she wrapped both of her arms around one of his and cuddled up closer, looking small despite the two years she had on him. She yawned widely and rested her head on his shoulder, looking like she was about to sleep.
Maybe she was, in fact. Restless had kept her up and unsteady for days as she tossed and turned in her new bed, trying to get used to the concept.
Finally, she asked, "Why are you awake?" She rolled her head to one side, cheek still against his shoulder, to try and look at him. He had been here, even before her, and she had walked through the door only a minute after five. Perhaps she was wrong in thinking that Aaron was somebody who slept in whenever he could.
Aaron blushed a little at the contact, and Piper would maybe feel his heart beating a little faster, but he let it happen. Stopped eating so she could take his arm and press herself closer to him. Wasn't sure whether to touch her back, especially since there was only so much room sat next to each other at this table, but he let her make herself comfortable. For a minute there she looked like she was about to just pass right out on him; not exactly the most comfortable place to sleep, but who was he to judge?
He was tempted to run a hand through her hair or something when she put her head on his shoulder, but that felt like too much, somehow. Instead he tried to stay still, not out of discomfort but so as not to disturb her as she rested. Probably looked odd to anyone in the cafeteria looking over here, but he didn't care right now. He looked down at her, and his free hand rested lightly on one of hers, if she allowed it, just to return some of the affection she was showing.
She asked him why he was up, but frankly she looked like he should be asking instead. "Friend of mine woke me up sometime after midnight, guess he heard about the new arrival because he called to tell me about it." Wouldn't stop ringing him until he'd woken up and answered. "After he woke me up I couldn't fall back to sleep, guess I felt like at least getting some food since I was up anyway. What about you?"
Because really, she looked far worse off for the lack of sleep - not that she looked bad, not at all, just that she seemed half dead. Like she'd been awake for an entire week.

The little robotic limbs that poked out from Afano's sides were moving a mile a minute. It was hard to keep track of how many tasks the little breakfast bot was taking care of. Not only cooking up the next batch of pancakes, but also keeping up with every other order coming in. This was Afano in his element. In his zone.
"Fisher! Florentine! Coming up!"
With the finishing garnish applied Afano's limb stretches a plate out to Miranda with a still steaming egg dish dripping with a perfectly mixed hollindaise sauce.
"Alright Mikey-boy you're about 13.64888888888% there! Only over 200 more to go!"
Afano was cooking even faster now. He could probably hold this pace for a bit longer, but all this extra power he was putting into this contest was starting to take a drain on Afano's battery.
She let him touch her and softly smiled. Normally, Piper wasn't this affectionate with anybody, but it was early in the morning. She didn't seem to notice that there were other people in the cafeteria, aside from Mike and his friend, both of whom she ignored out of spite. As far as she was concerned, the crowd of people just seemed to fade out of existence.
She gave a little shrug to his question, glancing up at him for a moment. There were deep bags under her eyes, and her gaze seemed foggy. "Couldn't sleep," she murmured, thinking about that stranger on the roof. Had he ever made up his mind? Did he go back to his Pod? Did he sleep it off? She closed her eyes tight, trying to rid her mind of the sleepy thoughts, and then untangled herself from Aaron. "I'm going to get something hot. Want anything, or are you good?" She asked, motioning to his burrito as she stood.
She was just out of bed and dressed up... she made her way to the mess hall. As she walked in, she saw quite a few people already there. " Morning. " She muttered shyly as she walked to the line. She looked at... a small round flying robot! She stared at it for a few long seconds... wait really... a real... robot?! This really surprised her, to the point of being almost totally waken up... almost. She carefully read and planned her mean... like every single meal she has... becoming a great agent takes a great body... and it always starts with food. She waited in line, until it was her turn.

"Thanks...li'l guy?" She takes the plate and frowns. "Uh. Do you have a label or name or something?" The robot had a really excited AI, different than the training bot she'd come across during training.
She sits down next to Mike as a really tall woman approaches. Miranda blinks in surprise, pretty sure she's still tired and not seeing things right. She nods and makes room but doesn't say just yet, since the other woman seems to be lost in some sort of thought.
She was not as sleepy at quite a few of the others... and looking at the sleepy face samde her smile a little. Susan waved gently to the students nearest to her... and then looked at the girl who made her some room. " Thank you. " She nodded, smiling gently at her. " Ohhh... pancakes... i just loooove them. ... but i like the others things too." She smiled slightly sleepily and was not too sure what to really pick as food. She did not want to annoy the little robo-cook by asking for every type of food.
Afano yells out to Miranda through his frantic cooking.
"You can call me Afano! That was my people name...I think?"
With a shake of his head (body?) Afano returns to his glorious work. The next batch of 50 is almost complete!
Susuan would see all the listed menu items on the breakfast bar ready to grab! With the exception of pancakes of course. There were still some burritos left, but the eggs florentine was starting to dwindle down. The smoothies howver did have to be made to order.
"Aaaaaaand...PANCAKES COMPLETE!"
Afano grabs the new batch of fresh aromatic pancakes and slams them down in front of Mike.
"Just remember when your stomach explodes you're gunna wanna see a doctor. And maybe your lawyer."
Miranda shakes her head and lets Mike go at the next batch of pancakes, looking to the other girl.
"I'd avoid pancakes this time, if I were you." She points to Mike. "Mike's got a competition with Afano, I think." He already denied her pancakes, too. She was going to stick around and see if it was worth it.
Fifty pancakes down. 200 more to go... His eyes narrowed as a blue glow surrounded his body. In his hand a fork made out of energy sprung forth as he continued with a renewed vigor. But he would be lying if he said he wasn't already full.
"I was thinking about getting myself a smoothie, maybe some eggs."
Honestly, that was a fairly large burrito, good chance it would fill him up, but who knew. He could work up quite the appetite sometimes, especially considering his fairly slender build. He heard chefbot off near Mike's table announce his progress, to a buzzing roar from the unexpected crowd, but he didn't look over. They weren't the ones talking to him.
"I can get it if you like, don't need to trouble yourself."
He would get to his feet if she didn't insist on getting everything. She'd looked so tired, he would really prefer her to relax, but he wasn't going to order her around. It'd be a little hypocritical since he was up too. If she really wanted to, though, he wouldn't necessarily say no.
Piper casually waved him off and went to get herself something, as well as a plate of eggs Florentine for Aaron. The smoothie, he'd probably have to get on his own, as it had slipped her mind as soon as she stood up. She was just too tired to think about that, or anything, really.
She glanced towards the group of people still gathered around Mike and rolled her eyes. There was no way he was going to beat a robot, and the fact that he was so determined - something she might have found endearing from somebody else - only managed to reconfirm his utter stupidity in her mind. She sneered as she grabbed a burrito for herself and a plate of eggs, glancing towards the bot.
Afano, he had said. She took a moment to watch him work, just studying how he moved his artificial parts and seemed to almost bob with excitement. She thought he had said something about being a human, once upon a time, but that could just be her mind playing tricks on her. "Thanks for breakfast, Afano," she said, raising a plate and nodding towards him. Then, she turned, and headed back to the table.
Sliding the eggs over to him, Piper settled back next to her friend with her burrito, lightly picking at it with a fork. She glanced up once more to look at Mike and his growing group of "friends." She was too tired to fight the sneer, muttering under her breath, "What an idiot..."
As Susan was waiting in line, she also watched the younger guy... Mike have, what seemed like and eating competition. Susan smiked loundly and shook her head. " Ohhh... boy... some people just do not know when stupid really starts. " She said turning back to the line. She did take 2 burritos and when she heard the tough little Cookbot speak, she listened to his name. " Afano... i would like 2 smoothies please. " She said, and then glared back at this Mike guy. She wanted to tell him that he was one arrogant jerk but it would have been a waste of her own time. She silently waited and watched Afano work.
Miranda's still working on the eggs as she notices the growing crowd that has her penned in if she blocks view of Mike's need to feed. She shakes her head and looks back to Afano as she starts really thinking about some of the stuff it/he has been saying.
"So you're saying he's aiming for 250 pancakes? Ish?" Miranda blinks and looks at Mike, not sure if she should be amused or afraid.
The blue energy around him burned brightly with all the passion and hope of youth as he continued to devour the delicious food that the robot supplied him with. He had already broken his personal record, though he was now slowing down. If he heard Susan's words he didn't pay them any mind. Some people just wouldn't be able to understand what was on the line.
Pride.
Dignity.
The American Way.
And if the sign said all you can eat unlimited pancakes, well it was his duty as an American to test that claim out.
When he was waved off and Piper went back to the line, Aaron frowned and took his seat again. Something about being casually brushed off like that felt a little rude. Still, he was pretty sure she didn't mean it like that, so he wasn't going to bother making a big deal of it. Everyone was a little blunter when they were so tired, and besides, he didn't need to do everything for everybody, or to insist on trying to. Nobody liked when someone was being overbearing, and a minute off his feet felt like just what the doctor ordered right now.
His eyes wandered; while she was walking up to get more food, he found his gaze idly following her, looking her up and down, until he realised what he was doing and looked away so fast he snapped his head to the side. Don't be weird, Aaron. Luckily, the flash of blue light as Mike powered up and attacked his pancakes with renewed fervour caught his attention - and forced him to shield his eyes for a moment, swearing under his breath. Were the dramatics really necessary? It was just food. The gathered students seemed to appreciate it, and he was certainly giving the meal before him his all; Aaron found himself watching and idly working on his burrito, but it was difficult to look directly at his roommate when Mike was quite literally burning with all the misplaced passion and determination of teenage hunger.
Note to self: Train with Mike more often. Might get to iron out kinks in some planned moves with his own power. Counterpoint: to be this happy to be awake at 5 AM, Mike could neither be a) entirely sane, nor b) entirely human. Still worth a shot.
Piper was back, and he thought he caught muttered disdain directed towards his roommate but couldn't say he heard right. He'd forgotten he'd asked for a drink almost before he'd finished requesting one so hardly noticed its absence; once he felt like he needed one, he could easily walk up and get one himself. Aaron took the plate she passed him with a grin and the best "Thanks" he could muster when half his vocal output was yawning, and kept his eyes away from the spectacle a few tables away. Too much looking over there and his eyes would hurt. He tucked in quietly, for a moment, enjoying the first of the eggs on his plate. This was more his type of thing than burritos, not that either were bad.
"Mm, these are pretty great," he managed after a few bites, looking to Piper. "Want to try one?"
She ignored Mike the best she could, slipping into her seat and giving a little bit of a sway, trying her best to keep herself coherent. Exhaustion kept her far from on guard, and she knew she would need to sleep if she ever hoped to prove herself a field agent worth having, worth knowing. Thoughts focused on negativity, Matthew's words repeating in her head, she stabbed into her burrito with vigor, chewing it thoughtfully.
One of her favorite things about Aaron was how comfortable they could be, sitting next to each other quietly. He didn't pry and she returned the favor. Sure, that meant that they didn't know a lot about each other, but bit by bit, that was changing. As an example, she could tell he thoroughly enjoyed eggs, as compared to the burrito that he seemed to almost idly pick at.
She was just about to go for her second bite when his words caught her attention and she couldn't help but smile. "Sure," she said, but hesitated, wondering if he wanted her to use her fork, his, or hell, her fingers. She was too tired to really figure it out, and after agreeing, she sat there kind of awkwardly.
It was hard to judge what might or might not be too much for Aaron, and despite her usual Hedonistic thought process, she found herself concerned about his comfort. After all, she might have pushed too much by cuddling with him, and that thought froze her smile upon her face. She'd need to remember to apologize, when she was more coherent.
