She let a few people pass her, while she was waiting for her smoothies, but did not mind. She was not looking at Mike anymore, rather, at everybody else.

She accepted and then sort of froze, the smile stuck on her face. That was a little odd. Aaron wasn't really sure how to respond. He passed the plate over to her, both to offer it and to see if it would snap her out of her zoning out; he had half a mind to ask just what had her suddenly off in her own little world, but it could be nothing. It was already pretty clear she wasn't exactly handling the early hour well, after all.

The waves of blue energy were a little less eye-searingly bright, but Mike was still at it off in the distance. He didn't bother looking over just yet, though he was listening out to see if anything interesting happened. Mike was going to keep going at it over there until he either won or keeled over, so most of the time it was going to be more of the same over there.

"You can use my fork if you want." Now, why the hell had he said that? It'd come out of him while he wasn't totally paying attention, and he blinked in surprise at himself. He'd idly noticed her fork was covered in burrito and that probably wasn't a good taste to mix with the eggs, but that was still sorta weird to offer. Or was it? Maybe on some level he'd just been hoping to get a response, since she seemed frozen in place for the couple seconds between her "sure" and his offer. Apparently anything he did stopped making sense when he got up early enough.

No backspace button when talking to people though. Hopefully she wouldn't be too weirded out. It wasn't a joke offer, so if she accepted he'd hand it over.

If he noticed her discomfort, he did a good job at hiding the fact. His kind, gentle nature... It was so different than anything she had known before. It was the exact opposite of her intense, pain-focused relationship with Him. That difference was, in a way, refreshing. She had spent so long on her toes, watching every movement she made so that it could be perfect... Relaxation was important. Her smile softened upon her face as she turned to look at Aaron, and maybe it was the exhaustion, but his eyes seemed to glitter with nervousness.

It was quite endearing, actually.

Quietly, she took his fork and tried a bite of his eggs, and while they weren't necessarily her favorite food, they did taste quite good. She chewed thoughtfully as she handed the fork back over to him, still smiling. Whatever it was they had, she didn't try to label it. She was unfamiliar with it... In all of her eighteen years, she had been known to dismiss most people, and the only person she ever really "crushed" on was Him, which turned into something else entirely. She didn't quite know how to deal with it.

"Thank you," she said, as she finished her bite. "They're actually pretty good." Glancing up at the menu, she made a mental note of the name so that she could look up exactly what went into making them later. "That Afano-whatever... He's a pretty good chef, hmm?"

"Yeah, these are great. Wish he'd shown up here sooner."

That name... through the haze, he was almost certain he'd heard it before. But that was weird; it'd been a decade, maybe more, since the one he was thinking of was around. He took the fork and plate back with a smile and a grateful nod, but then his brow furrowed. Concentration, puzzlement.

"Afano, you said? Think I've seen that name in files around here, or my parents mentioned him." He would take a few thoughtful bites from another piece of egg, frowning as he chewed. Swallow before speaking. "Can't be the same one though; that Afano vanished years ago, before I was even born. Why would he be here now, all of a sudden?"

Maybe none of that made sense to her, who had barely even gotten her foot in the door compared to him. He was half thinking aloud anyway. He ate another one of the eggs florentine, before any attempt to change the subject.

"How about the burrito? Liking that so far?"

So it was a bit more small-talky, but sue him. He wasn't the greatest at thinking up topics.
