Piper left the gates of Paradigm behind, walking away from the Miami Director and his recruits. She knew that she would be seeing them around, but she had other things to think about, other things to spend her energy on... Better things, rather than the girl who couldn't be bothered wearing a shirt, the arrogant movie star wanna-be, and the others. She hadn't gotten any of their names and really had no interest in knowing them.
Opening her book back to the page her finger marked, she read as she walked, barely paying any attention to the outside world. She figured most of the people would be busy greeting their new "guests," but not even Aaron could keep her there, dealing with their... stupidity. She scoffed aloud and started to make her way towards the fountain.
Since meeting Fi there, it had become a place of contemplation. She could sit there and think. Given, that meant she would end up losing her interest in her book, but that was no problem, really. It was just a placeholder, a break from everywhere else her mind seemed to go.
Susan was at the fountain just lost in her thoughts. She had a lot on her mind and sometimes her inherited family business was pretty hard to run. She was either Cap... the agent trainee or Susan Hunt... the business woman and singer. As she would get more experienced as an agent, both of the other things she does, might become a distraction. In a mission, she had to stay focused after all. She was kind of startled when she heard somebody approack her, making her jump slightly.
(Who is the arrogant movie star? lol... and the shirt girl? )
Piper saw the movement above the top of her book and glanced up, her eyes a muddy grey color, and slowly cocked a brow. She hadn't met this girl - woman? person - before. If she had, she knew she would remember a physique like that. Slowly, she lowered her book, once more marking the page with her finger, and took a moment to look her over.
Of course, she wasn't exactly one to remark on a person's appearance. Her hair was green, her skin abnormally pale, and she looked as if she hadn't slept in a week, maybe more. She tilted her head to one side, trying obviously to relax the ever-present tension in her shoulders.
"Sorry," she remarked softly. "Didn't mean to scare you."
She looked at the person with some far but then calmed down. " It is alright. " Susan spoke smiling gently as the girl was not a threat, she was stuying the girl... she was an interesting girl... green hair, pale skin and looking like she had gone without sleep for aa week. Susan came here to the fountain sometimes, to think and plan and sing as it was fairly far away from a possible hearing range of others.
She contemplated turning right back around and finding somewhere else to go, but she'd be damned if she let anyone - even some Amazonian stranger - chase her away from what she had come to think of as HER spot. Slowly, as if she worried she'd be attacked, she walked towards the edge of the fountain a few feet away from her.
"Weren't you at that breakfast fiasco?" She asked softly, narrowing her eyes.
She sat on the stone lip of the fountain, leaning over and resting her elbows on her knees, book protected from the water nearby.
" Where that Mike guy had the eating competition with Afono?... yes i was. " She smiled gently, still finding it such a stupid competition that is was funny. "I have seen you after it, hard to miss a pretty attractive green haired girl " She smiled and nodded at the girl. Yes she was pretty attractive... at least to Susan, she was. Her smile faded soon and looked at a nearby tree. Susan siged and muttered. She was already being destracted by thoughts, this could get her injured or even killed... she had fact healing but was not immortal. But she was prepared to die... ever since her parents where killed. She looked at the girl... at Piper. " So what brings you here... to solitude? " Susan asked.
Attractive? Piper raised a brow slowly. That wasn't something that she heard often, and never from people who weren't trying to get something from her. She rubbed her cheek gingerly and tried to figure out if she was, in fact, being hit on or not, but it seemed Susan had other things on her mind. She stared, distracted, at something nobody else could see.
She gave a shrug, letting that thought roll off her back. She wasn't concerned about it, in actuality. She leaned back and tossed her head backwards, water soaking the tips of her hair as it poured from the fountain. "Boredom," she admitted, smirking. "There's a new group of people here, and they bored me. So I left." She shrugged, as if it was all no big deal, and glanced back towards the stranger.
When Piper said that the new people where boring to her, Susan fell silent for a few long seconds. "Just because people are not interesting, you do not need to quit the Academy. " Susan looked at her with a smirk finding it a silly reason to leave the Agency. She then looked down at her own legs and shook her head. "Susan, you are just a big hulking nobody. " She muttered, loosing her self confidence and shook her head in shame.
"I'm not quitting," she said with a confused furrow of her brows. "I'm just getting away from them." The Australian sat upright again and looked at this stranger, so distraught and confused.
At least she was more entertaining than the crowd that had come through the gates.
"I have no plans to quit. My Destiny is here. So here I'll stay." She shrugged and set her book down on the grass, losing her place. Oh well. At least she'd find it later.
Susan lost even more of her self confidence. " Oh, i see... i though that you where... never mind... i am just confusing myself so i will just be quiet. " Susan muttered, shaking her head and stared at her legs again silently.
Piper let her fall into silence, brows furrowing for a moment. She seemed to be in the middle of some sort of identity crisis, and the Australian was definitely not equipped to handle that.
"Uh, look... No big deal... You swatched some words and got yourself confused. Happens to the best of us."
She cleared her throat. She was REALLY not good at comforting people.
" My nme is Susan Capra Hunt... you can call me Capra if you like " Susan smiled gently and nodded. "Do you come to the fountain often? " She asked, tilting her head.
" i come here fairly often to think and to... to do other things... away from hearing range and all. " Susan smirked slightly and dipped her hand in the fountain. "I wish i was just a normal girl. " She muttered to herself unaware if Piper heard it or not.
"Why?" Piper asked, rather suddenly. She looked over at Susan and her eyes seemed to clear, becoming a brilliant green color. She stared hard at the stranger, Susan, and gave a shake of her head.
She stood up, trying to grasp the anxious energy that suddenly filled her. "We aren't normal people, and that's one of the best things about us. We are something else entirely. Something powerful. We have options that regular people will never have."
She turned to fully face Susan, giving a flick of her head to toss toxic green hair over one shoulder. "We can change the world."
" Yes, you may be right... but i never asked for this... i mean look at me... i am 6 feet 2... and some 200 pounds of muscle. " She looked down in shame. " My powers only help me... nobody else. " She said with not much self confidence left in her.
She rolled her eyes at the girl. She was never one for helping people who were feeling upset with themselves. She knew she should try to be gentle, but that knowledge came a little too late.
"If you believed that, you wouldn't be here." Her tone was a bit sharper than it had been before. "Who cares what you look like, mate? I'm tiny. You're not. You look like a thread. You should be proud of that."
She took a step closer to Susan but didn't bother trying to touch the girl. "My power doesn't exactly do anything for anyone, but I can find ways to make it work. I have the wits to do that. Are you calling yourself witless?"
Susan did not answe for a few seconds, shaking her head. " Piper... i have accelerated healing factor and enhanced strenghts and durability... all i could do i take hits better. " Susan looked at Piper with a shrug. " I took down a few powered criminals and got into a few other dangerous things but i bounced back. " Susan spoke. "I am witty but not too trained yet. " Susan said.
"Then train. You have the ability to be a powerhouse."
She smirked, crossing her arms over her chest and looking the Amazon over again. She was weak, she knew that, but she had speed on her side. She could move, dodge, do what she needed to do to get away... But she had yet to perfect any actual fighting ability.
"You think normal strength can defeat all the villains out there? Sometimes, we NEED a powerhouse."
Capra listened and nodded slightly. " I guess you are right, but i also want to become a great agent... so i do not end up being labeled as just a dumb blonde hulk. " Susan smirked smiling weakly. " What is your power or powers? " Susan asked looking into her eyes.
She didn't really get the reference but shrugged it off, not bothering to put much thought behind it. Once Susan seemed to get her point, she physically moved back a few paces and sat back on the grass, trying to relax.
Piper contemplated not telling the new girl about her abilities. Since her run in with Silas, she had kept everything as quiet as she could, but ignoring a direct question was rude.
" Piper... Speed as in you are a Spreedster? That is really cool. " Susan sais smiling and got a little exited. " Wow... now that is a useful and impressive power. " Susan said, and nodded. She thought for a long second and then reached out and gently tapped her shoulder. " Tag, you are it. " She spoke and broke into a wide smile. She winked at Piper.
Piper raised a brow, a slow smile spreading across her face. It was extremely predatory, a show of her teeth. She stepped back and waved for her to go on. "Be my guest. I'll give you a twenty second head start."
