She saw Piper smiling wiedly and as she spoke, her own small smile turned into a surprised stare, before a grin. She started at Piper for a half a second, before she took off, running somewhat faster then even an olympic runner could. As she ran, she also let out a happy and free laught. Hopefully the grounds would not end untill the 19 seconds where up. She was running very fast, even for her elevated standerds but it was great, not holding back.
"One, two... three..." She counted, slowly, watching the girl go. Even running faster than an Olympic runner, she was no match for Piper, and she knew that. She stared at her nails for a second, wondering if it would be a challenge for her at all, but she knew better than that.
"Eighteen... Nineteen... Twenty."
Her limbs began to tingle as she turned her green eyes on the woman, her prey. She crouched slightly, her grin turning wild upon her face, and then she let loose.
It took only a few seconds before she was moving faster than any human could, faster, even, than most vehicles would. Within seconds, she was running sixty miles an hour, just a blur. Her arms were limp behind her, her legs doing all the work. The thrill filled her and her eyes widened.
It didn't take her long to catch up to Susan, and her fingers gingerly brushed across her arm, her voice like the wind. "Tag," she teased, and kept going a few steps further before she managed to slow herself to what could almost be called a normal speed.
As she heard speedy stepd behind her, she accelerated even more. But it did not work. As she was tagged, she slowed slightly but kept running, still fairly fast for herself. She was also laughting happily. " Wooooww... this was great... what a rush! " Susan laughed and wanted to Tag Piper again... not really sure if she would manage. "Piper... now that is... speed alright. " Susan was siling widely. "I had an... incident with... another speedster, but... he was cornered... unlike you just... now. " Susan said slowing down even more. She was actually breathing heavily.
Piper let her slow down, staying just a few paces faster than her. She enjoyed being just outside of reach, just on the other side of their fingers. She liked the game. Her grin was brilliant upon her face as she listened to the girl. She even turned around, running backwards, so she could speak easier.
"I have a failsafe," she said, not having the grace to look even mildly winded. Her eyes were wide with excitement, with the thrill that only came from running.
Susan still continued running and slowly recovering from being out of breath. "You know... you are just showing off... now. " She smirked but let out and amaized little smiling nod. " Yes? What is your failsafe? " She asked Piper. " Btw... so... do i qualify as a Speedster yet? " She smirked.
"My failsafe is a secret," she said simply, staying just out of Susan's reach. She was waiting for the girl to try and reach out to touch her again, watching body language so she could dodge out of the way in time. This was a game she was extremely familiar with.
She gave a shrug at the Amazon, crossing her arms over her chest. "Speedster? Not so much. You've got a good gait, though."
" Come on... if we are going to work as a team we should know each others powers and failsafes and weaknesses. " Susan pointed out. "Good gait... the is what? " Susan asked. She finally slowed to a stop,, looking at the cademy in the distance.
She stopped as well, giving a shake of her head. Susan had a point, but... "We don't know if we are going to work together, yet," she said pointedly. She put her hands on her hips, looking in control of her breathing. She didn't seem bothered by the jog.
"I keep my cards close to my chest," Piper said, shrugging.
" My instrincts tell me that we will, we are in the same Academy after all, so we might end up working together on missions. " Susan spoke and then shrugged. " How did you get your powers or how did you find out? " Susan asked.
Piper gave a shrug. Maybe they would work together, but she had no interest in telling her secrets. She held up a hand, pressing her finger to her lips in the international signal to hush. She obviously wasn't going to tell her anything.
Susan rolled her eyes and shook her head. Really?, She would have to pry it out from her, on a mission that is already going south? Piper was wierd to not tell, but Susan just shrugged. " Not even how you found out about your powers and such? " She asked Piper with a frown.
"Nope." Piper had kept everything a secret since her encounter with Mike and his blasphemous lies. She had the potential to like Susan and she didn't want that to disappear because she, too, was a lying little punk. If she was, she didn't want to know about it. "That's sort of a personal question around here. At least to me."
" Okay, whatever, sheesh... how would i know how to help you or whatever, if our lifes would be at stake on a mission... as i see it you have trust problems. " Susan spoke shrugging and looked into her eyes. Personal questions... ohhhh boy.
"You don't know the half of it, Yankee," Piper muttered under her breath. She ran a hand gingerly through her hair and breathed in slowly, carefully, before giving a shake of her head.
Susan would be waiting quite a long time if she expected her to say anything. The silence would grow uncomfortable after a few minutes, but still, she remained silent.
She couldn't help the wicked smirk that crossed her face. She crossed her arms over her chest, simply stating, "I have people who have earned my trust." She said, simply.
If took everything she had, every ounce of control, not to snap at Susan. Still, she managed a very tense smile and muttered, "I'm actually going to head back to the Academy. Get some studying done."
