Cursing to himself, Aaron tries to unwrap Piper and keep Ryan contained, flowing the shadows off her and around what seems to be under her!
Once the shadows aren't on her, but are tight around their invisible opponent, he'll start squeezing. He doesn't want to cause Ryan serious harm, but well, the whole thing with Adam earlier today kind of left him with some anger to work out.
There's his head. She yelped, but it wasn't as if she could move very far away from him. The moment the shadows released her, she would move rather quickly to wrap her hands around his throat, not concerned on whether or not her nose is broken. She balanced herself on her knees above him, leaning over his invisible, prone form.
"Again," she hisses, still grinning, as she tightens her fingers.
Aaron realises something, and steps out from the shadows.
"Uh, if you're invisible we're not going to be able to tell when you've given up or anything," he says, trying to raise his voice so Ryan can hear.
As much as he's kind of pissed off, he doesn't want to constrict him too hard and end up doing something severe. Not that any of them would get anything permanent with them all so close to the infirmary, but he doesn't want to do serious damage. He isn't that mad.
Of course, he's still going to keep constructing Ryan until he gets some sign of surrender.
Aaron steps closer and loosens up with the shadow wrap; it doesn't disappear, but it isn't actively constricting him any more.
"You two okay?"
Aaron did see how Ryan was going blue in the face, and Piper... she took two decent hits and looked like something came over her. He's giving her a look to make sure she's all right!
She stood up from him, rubbing her face where he headbutted her and checking for blood. There looked to be a demon in her eyes as she stared down at the stranger. "If I wanted you dead," the hedonist said, "I wouldn't have stopped."
She turned to look at Aaron, her hand going to the small of her back, assessing what damage she did take. "I'm fine. He surrendered. We won."
Her voice was deadpan and monotone, her eyes shining with... Something. Even she wasnt quite certain what.
Aaron releases Ryan, helping him up if he'll accept it! Then he turns to Piper, just looking at her for a second. He knew she was mad, he knew that was his fault, but it's like a switch got flipped when Ryan hit her. He's not sure what to say. Sure, they won, but that's not everything.
"You sure?" He'll check to make sure her nose isn't broken or anything, but he doesn't mean just physically. He's never heard her like this, or seen that look in her eyes. "You look like something's up."
Piper stared at Aaron for a moment, clenching and unclenching her fists. She looked as if she were ready for a war. She wanted more pain, something. If felt like she had been cheated out of something, a drug she'd quit cold turkey.
Logic prevailed, however, as she looked at the kindness in Aaron's eyes. She needed to get away from him. Without another word, she turned to walk away.
Aaron lets Ryan go! He feels sorta guilty for putting the squeeze on so hard anyway, he seems like a nice kid. Besides, his focus is more on Piper right now; something downright weird is going on with her, by his reckoning. That look in her eyes was almost like someone who fought in the war. Or wanted to.
He freezes up for a second and she makes it several strides away while he thinks about what to do. It looked like there was more up with her than just what happened earlier, than just getting hit by Ryan. And maybe it was his fault? No idea, but something's clearly eating her and his feet were moving on their own by the time he noticed them.
"Piper? Is something wrong?" No idea if she'd even listen to him, looking as she does. "I mean, I know what happened earlier is my fault, but..."
"Aaron," she interrupted him, stopping rather suddenly. She stood there with her shoulders tense, her teeth meshed tightly together. "Unless you're going to hurt me... Leave me alone."
Pain. She just needed pain. She just needed somebody, anybody, to hit her. And hit her hard.
Wait, what? She wanted him to hurt her? He'd never met someone who wanted to be hurt before. Pain was part of the job, here, but to actively seek it out? Aaron was into not judging people for their life choices, but that was hard to get his head around.
He blinked, then he blinked again, trying to think of something. Obviously she had stuff to work out, maybe it was nothing he could do, maybe she wanted space, but better to know she was okay than doing something rash.
"I didn't want to do this until I was sure you had a good foundation," he forced out. "If you want, though, meet me in Tutorial and we can spar a bit. It'll help."
She needed to get something out of her system, and Aaron knew the feeling that could come over a person, make it so they only felt better when they'd hit something and been hit back. At least Tutorial is a safe environment to work that out.
