"But that's the problem, isn't it? They don't want us to go through the same tribulations and build our own experiences. They won't let us earn anything."
"How am I ever supposed to get on father's level with her chaining me down? Maybe having a longer leash is acceptable for whatever goals you might have, but a bird cannot fly if it's not allowed to leave the nest."
This is awkward. Not only is she hearing half of the conversation, but it's been rather intimate about family stuff. Sure, Freya's pretty quiet, but so is the room. Though she hadn't been kicked out, the psychic's words from earlier might as well have made it clear she should. It's not like she'd want either of them witnessing what she was like with what's left of her own family.
She pauses just as her hand reaches the door, tempted to say something while Freya's here since she has no idea if or when she'll see the other girl again.
Eh, fuck it. She doesn't have to respond, and she doesn't have to pay attention either. At least Rebecca would have tried.
"I'm sorry for earlier, Freya." There are a lot of things she could say to explain her moment of stupidity, but it's a waste of breath and distraction. Besides, she really didn't belong here.
Unless something is done or said, she leaves, forgetting her phone was with some of the belongings stuffed under her chair. She'd brought them to keep her mind busy while bouncing between rooms.
