Valo's on campus, sitting at a fountain, facing the inside with his bare feet submerged in the water. In his palm, he's clutching one of his freeze clusters. As his body temperature reaches freezing, the water around his shins slowly reaches equilibrium, and he lazily drops a cluster to land between the two of them. It shatters as it collides with the liquid surface, shooting out a spray of ice.
The display is calming, and Valo can't help but smile.
Her voice would seem to come out of nowhere as Piper wandered over. She wondered if she should be shocked to see him on campus, but she doubted he would be shocked. She was wearing a tight, form-fitting sweater, and washed out jeans, hair in a ponytail. She looked far more fashionable than she had the last time they met.
"You're awkward and uncomfortable, and that makes me curious." She shrugged, continuing towards the fountain and Valo. She had doubts about how well a second interaction between the two would go, but that didn't mean she wasnt curious to see.
Curiosity killed the cat... But satisfaction brought it back.
"Don't get me wrong, there are people here I thoroughly enjoy being around. You aren't quite one of those people," she admitted, looking at him with a tilt of her head. "But most of those people, I either have figured out or I am working on it."
She looked him over, wondering why he seemed so willing to melt away, no pun intended. While he didn't seem to want her around, he hadn't yet asked her to go.
"I like puzzles and I like challenges. You seem entertaining, at least."
"Shared sentiment," he remarks at her initial comment without hesitation. "I can tell you now, you'll either never have me figured out, or it'll take you all of fifteen seconds of prodding. I'm like a really intricate looking jigsaw puzzle, then you find out it's only got two pieces to it. You think there's much more to put together, but it's pointless to keep searching."
Underselling himself? Yeah. But it comes with his background.
She smiled, nodding. He had a bit of a point. "I said most people are on the path, but not all. Some don't bother with trying to know themselves. Some don't care."
But apparently, he did. And that made him interesting.
