She followed him, curiously peeking into the cafeteria. Everything was so different here than in New York. She made a noise of approval before turning back to Taner.
"It doesn't bother me. Being older, I mean. I have seen some senior agents and I don't have the control they have."
"I have chains." She chuckled. That didn't really explain much, did it? She turned to look at him again, seeming to forget about the tour. "They're part of my soul. I don't really know how to explain it."
He just looks at her in a very confused manner. That didn't explain anything.
"Soul chains? So what do they do exactly?"
He's genuinely curious, never heard of a power like that. That said, he hasn't forgotten the tour as he turns to head toward the armory, infirmary and training center
She followed after him, trying to explain it. "They're usually pretty solid," she said with a shrug. "I mean, they're literally like chains. Usually."
She tilted her head, a tumble of orange hair covering part of her face. "I got transferred here because they seem to have more uses. I'm supposed to come here to learn how to figure out the other powers."
"Don't know, depends on your definition of busy. I only know of two people having to be there. I certainly hope it is isn't. That's a bad sign for us if it is."
He says with a shake of his head. Of the two cases, one was entirely preventable.
"I used the links to break skin," she said with a shrug. She was thinking about what he had shown her, all the new things she wanted to learn about her chains. "I couldn't really think of another way to draw blood, you know?"
Then, she chuckled. "But what about you? How'd you manage it?"
