Wooaaahhh. Ken walked in on some deep shit between them. He could tell as soon as he saw the tears. She wasn't the type to cry. He would glance at her.....down at the ground, then back to Mathew.
"Sorry for calling you a douche. I'll leave."
He would turn, scoop up his apple, and walk out, not expecting a reply!
The knee blow would connect, dropping him down to a single knee. The metal around him exploding outward in a mass of pillars to slam into Piper and send her flying toward the far wall.
"Within these walls you are under my guard. Once you leave that gate it is up to you and the skills you have acquired. My gift to you. To all of you is the knowledge on how to fight against an enemy that will not fight fair. That will do everything to destroy you."
"I made a mistake. I don't know why I emailed you."
She thought he could help. She wanted to fight. To practice. But why? Obviously, he has no clue what he was talking about. Obviously, he didn't know Him at all.
She turned her back to him, gripping the staff in one hand. He had lied to her. She should have known better.
She turned on her heel and faced him, suddenly. That name.... Her shoulders tensed and she meshed her teeth together.
"You know nothing!" She shouted.
"You walk around with some big fucking shield because you've lost somebody you love. We all have, Amtrum. But we try to keep going. We try to love, anyways. Because that keeps us going. We don't shove our foot down anyone else's throat, and we sure as fuck don't expect people to trust us when we don't trust them!"
She realized a little too late what she was saying, but she couldn't really stop herself.
"So maybe I am weak. Maybe I am fucking weak for finding people here I thought I could love, that could love me. Maybe I am my father's daughter. Maybe I am just a puppet. But at least I don't kind behind my mask of no emotions."
She scoffed. "At least He doesn't fucking do that. When you've upset Him, you know. But when you make Him proud, He let's you know that, too. He gives you reason to love Him, to trust Him. To worship Him. So yeah. You're nothing like Him."
His fist tightened along with his face at her words. His eyes narrowed and jaw clenched. His eyes flickered to the wall. Resisting the urge to just send a spike through her back and out her stomach. He did not like what he was hearing.
"You are nothing but an ignorant little girl pretending to know things that she can not comprehend. The real world doesn't fall into your little romanticism. He does not love you. And no one but you is calling you weak for finding love."
He'd take a heavy step forward, and then another as he'd close the distance between them. The stone arm shifting to a clenched fist.
"You are a stupid, brash, ignorant girl who presumes to tell me what I feel or do not feel. You ask for me help and then spit in my face. Well you know what I have to say to that?"
She didn't flinch from him as he walked to her, though her eyes widened slightly. His anger was to be expected, but... She had done pretty well at staying away from that anger.
His fist connected with her and she stumbled a few steps back, coughing at the impact, her body shaking. Fuck, that hurt.
"That no matter what you say. No matter what you do. My job is to be here to make sure you are the best that you can be. Even if I have to snap you in half and pull our your potential through the marrow of your bones. You're little games will not push me away. And you will not stop me from doing my job."
He continued to glare at her.
"Don't presume that you know me when you can't even figure out yourself."
