"The Cthonic Empire? It's a group of Meta humans that have spread through Europe. They've toppled several governments and hold a large amount of territory."
He frowned.
"Do you not pay attention to history class? Or turn on the news?"
"You got my file. Orphanage. In and out of juvi. I'm not much one for keeping up on international news."
He would feel some pleasure internally. So, he had no problem answering other questions. Especially easy ones not pertaining to him. Of course Ken knew about the empire- only because of what he heard after coming here and looking online about them.
"You know, with your power you could level them. Probably solo. Why haven't you?"
"Damn right. So yeah, why haven't you traveled a majority of Europe? It's not like you'd have to do it above ground. And you bring down most if not all of their command, im sure."
"Let's assume that you are right, and I can do that and take down all of their bases. Let's even pretend that in their whole empire they don't have a single person with a power that could counteract mine. War would erupt and a lot of people would die."
"Do I really seem like the type of guy to run from a battle? Geez."
He would sigh and lean back, arms folding again.
"I intimated the idea of a pre-emptive strike. You suggest waiting until they give us a reason to take the initiative? Or until they take it themselves?"
Ken sighed. It wasn't about proving you had the biggest dick. The problem for Ken was that this group obviously had plans. Plans to take more. Eventually their eyes would turn here and they would make a plan that would make it difficult for them to fight back. Their best defense was a solid offense, in Ken's opinion.
But he wouldn't argue the point. He was 17, and Mathew was his superior.
"Can I ask you what happened with the girl from the training room?"
Ken would stare. He had meant after- but decided against bringing it up. He had decided in the tutorial that it wasn't his business. Best keep it that way.
"Okay. Last thing. I'd like to fight you. Not a training, I'm talking a legit fight. Until one of us is out cold."
