The older woman had finally looked over at the guy and shock crossed her feature for a moment. She was the spy type, used to dealing with the small and the lean.
This guy looked like he could crush her.
"Ah. Sorry. Days. A few days. I'm Agent Campbell."
Get ahold of yourself, girl. Professional. Be nice, dammit! And take your hand off the hilt of that blade under your pants.
She smirked slightly as he said that. When she first joined Paradigm, she was a vicious little rebel. She probably should have been arrested, too. Multiple times.
"So what's the plan, big guy?" She seemed genuinely curious. "Field work? Defence? Intelligence? Or are you going to create an actual outreach program through Paradigm?"
"You're younger than me," she said with a smile. "You'll get there."
Giving a shake of her head, she leaned back against the arm rest so she could face him, changing the position of her legs.
If he paid any attention to the action, he'd realize it didn't make any noise: there was no sound of fabric against fabric, no sound of her body moving at all.
In fact, if he paid closer attention, he'd realize he couldn't hear her breathing. Or anything else.
Jay notices the lack of sound in the shifting of position but really doesn't think anything of it. Nor does he notice the lack of sound to her breathing. His metal powers weren't the only things that could make him dense at times.
