"Didn't actually see it - I walked in, heard an explosion, suddenly a dummy head was flying at my face. I'm sure it was great, though."
He knew she was capable of impressive stuff. He heads closer to the group, too, a faint smile forming as he tries to laugh off his poorly timed entrance. It kept him from dwelling, at least.

"Halves are a bit tricky, so we'll go with, three." she points to Aaron. "Three." she points to Jack.
"and Four." she points to Murdoch.
"Murdoch can be first. Jack...you're last." she winks before placing a hand on Murdoch's shoulder and his entire body would glow with Absinthe's pink aura.
He'd also feel...stronger, somehow?
"Your power is four time it's effectiveness." she says, though she admits she's not sure what that means for someone like Murdoch.
It was like everything he was seeing, the Doctors body language, or the mannerisms of the others in the room were being deeply engrained into his mind and body.
Aaron feels the power rushing through him, three times stronger than his current best, and can't help a grin as the feeling of strength washes away the anger he brought in here, at least temporarily. Deep down, he wants to jump right into testing this new power out, but he's not sure of an appropriate way to do it.
Sure, it'll be gone in two hours, but to know he could reach this level, hopefully even further... it's really something.
"Thanks, Doctor, really. Could I come by and ask you for boosts like this now and then? For the really important missions mostly, I don't want to use you as a crutch when I could be training to get this strong on my own."
Absinthe laughs. It had been a while since she'd seen that sort of reaction to a supercharge! But it had also been a while since she'd given one in general.
"I would advise against it." she tells Aaron. "You're likely only going to be in missions that are at your level. If I supercharge you, your improvement will suffer. I would only do it for emergencies such as sending you on missions that you're not ready for."
He meant to play it a little closer to his chest, but it slips right out of him. His expression flattens, becomes much more serious, and he actually looks Director Gavyns square in the eye for a second, as if saying 'we both know what I'm talking about, and why I don't want to elaborate'. Then he tries to let it all out in one big breath, tries to draw on the feeling of strength inside him to find some calm. It'd worked a moment ago, after all. Wisps of shadow fall off him as he draws on the increased power, not using it but letting it flow through him as he finds his words.
"I get what you're saying, of course - I'd hate to use you as a crutch, anyway, when I could be growing stronger on my own. I'll only do it if I genuinely feel I'm heading into something I can't handle at my current level, then? I'll keep training as hard as I can of course, so I can reach this level on my own - surpass it one day, hopefully."
