She looks towards Jack after the look Aaron gives him. If the director says it's one of these special cases, then she wouldn't mind. But as it is, she doesn't know what Aaron's talking about.
She also offers Murdoch another smile, watching his boxing.
"It's pretty exhilarating from what I hear." she nods. Not that she'd ever felt what a boost was like.
They might hear him mutter, "Once isn't a habit," but he nods, disappointment clear on his face despite his best efforts. He understands where they're coming from, but Clavish...
He's just a kid, what's he supposed to do against that?
"I get you. Once you get started with something like this, it can get hard not to become dependent. A lot of people might stop training, knowing they could get a power boost whenever they wanted."
He's not one of those people, but arguing with them isn't a good idea.
"We wouldn't send you out if we didn't think you could do it. Think of this as... something to look forward to, practice for when you reach this level. It's how I used to come up with things, between Abby's charge or just overcharging off other things, to make attacks like my rail gun move."
Aaron gives Murdoch a thumbs up before thinking on what the Gavynses have to say.
"Well, thanks for the vote of confidence, it really means a lot coming from you two." He tries to force himself to relax. "I'm not trying to sound ungrateful, that you've given me this at all is something I appreciate, I love feeling this glimpse at what I can become. It's just that I might have to go up against someone specific, soon. Someone I'm not totally sure I can take on as I normally am, but someone I can't run from either. Won't run from."
He looks at Jack as if asking, silently, if it's okay to give Dr. Gavyns more details. If he has to get between Jim and Piper, he'll do it.
Angel walks into the room, waving at Murdoch as he left. Cool room to himself- then he saw the people still inside. Or not. He recognized... One person.
"Considering everything he's done over the past 15 years, I'm not willing to risk it. Who knows how many new tricks he could've picked up, and that's without the Empire's technology."
He was one of the Empire's top dogs for a reason, and Piper made him sound completely invincible. Angel doesn't get much of a response, just a non-committal nod, since the faculty had him well in hand. Besides, if he couldn't be bothered doing some basic research on who works at Paradigm, it wasn't worth dignifying with a response.

"I'm sorry Aaron." Absinthe says with a sheepish smile.
"No, it's fine."
Aaron shrugs, but can't keep the disappointment and uncertainty off his face. Angel is still ignored!
"Either way, I want to get this strong naturally - even stronger, and it's a thrill to feel this is a level I can get to. I kind of want to test it out, but I'm not sure what's an appropriate way to do it."
