After a couple of seconds and the sound of a thud from Eric, Becca peeks around the tree and nods, dropping her own snowball and coming out from behidn her cover.
"Yeah. It would probably relieve some of their stress. I know they freaked the fuck out after that rally was on the news. And I wasn't even there. I think they would shit bricks if I told them about the Legion Bots and the Nexus."
"Mhmmm." She doesn't say much after the rally gets mentioned, merely nodding and looking ahead with a small frown.
"Yeah, I'd probably avoid that, too. This world alone is a lot to take care of, nevermind other ones." She glances at him. "Do you think they'd believe you about the dimensions?
"People can believe in a higher power more than other dimensions?" She shakes her head. "Nah. Powers are just weird. Not to mention you looked like shit that day. That wasn't something small." She frowns, but shakes her head and lets her expression fade.
"So are we going to have cups big enough to satiate your sugar craving, ro do I need to get you one for Christmas, too?"
"Nuh-uh." Rebecca shakes her head. "You can pull anything you want out of a portal, but it won't be from me." Not to mention it's not often she spends money, but apparently the holidays count for an exception!
"I think I understand." She nods. "It's a lot to wrap your head around, especially at first." A weak smile. "Families are good at that."
"I take it that it's not the first time?" He seemed...not quite resentful. Maybe displeased? Or tired of expecting the same thing. That, she could relate to.
"I'd normally go, or at least call and see, but I'm not sure after our last talk." She shrugs, then frowns as her pace slows. She pulls her coat tighter around her.
"I went to visit him a few days back." And had barely been seen even by her podmates that night and after. "May not be such a good idea."
"Maybe." For once, it's not a yes. She's already talked about it twice to others; three times is almost too much. Then again, she trusts Eric more than anyone else here, and it would be nice just to say it without having advice in return.
She slips off her boots as Eric shuts the door, heading towards the kitchen.
"My dad's in town because he was at Warren's rally. He got caught in the explosion." She keeps the coat on, fingers running along the hem of it.
"I was evacuating people until near the end. They'd cleared out. I never saw him or thought to look for him."
"Yeah, he was recovering just fine when I saw him. I guess he'll be there a bit longer though? I'm not sure how long they're keeping him. Or when he's going back." She grabs a couple of mugs while Eric works on the chocolate, but doesn't let go of them yet.
