Arman is trying something new for the first time in his life. While he's been learning to read and write at his own pace, he was never one to show this to anyone. That all changed when he made the ring he gifted to Mathew, and even now he felt like he had tons of important steps to make. Little by little, he was going to try and do write by people, and the words his parents had always told him started echoing in his head right after he had that fuck-up with Fiona.
It took him hours, but Arman is hanging up a small banner he made to heavily contrast the things he threw up around school before, about Mike, and bring out some of the holiday spirit. It's on the wall by the entrance to the school, somewhere he knows people are bound to see it - and maybe insult it - which is a risk, but he's trying to stop hiding.
If he understood what she was saying, it would have made him feel much better. Instead, he just kind of looks at her and nods.
"That was the point."
He pulls the sleeves of his jacket down so that the words on his forearm are now hidden, then goes back to staring at the failure he put up for public display.
"Really?" That's a weird thing to hear for Arman, seeing as he comes from a community where everyone is your family. He doesn't push it, though, since he knows E doesn't like him.
"With the amount of people in this "family" who don't like me, it might be best if I don't show aside from set-up."
