With about ten minutes to spare, she wandered down into the Tutorial, beginning her usual stretches.  Evie was tiny, abnormally so, and quite limber because of that fact... but if the rumors were true, one hit from the Director and she might not be getting back up. She started trying to run through tactics as she let her chains free. Four individual links of chain, each about ten feet, stretched free from her shoulder blades and wiggled around. She hadn't expected him to enter so quietly! Laughing, mostly just to relax the tension in her shoulders, she unwound her chains from her body and offered him a nod. She wasn't quite sure what she was getting herself into, but she was as ready as she ever would be. It was an uncomfortable sensation, bordering on painful, and the more resistance he put up, the more it would feel like a shock to his system. As he tensed his arm, he could feel something tugging within him, aching in his body as if he should stop! Still, he tugs back with his arm and the force would send Evelyn flying toward him! She would fly towards him, just as he intended, but she curled her body into a defendable ball and tightened her chains, focusing on trying to distract him. If he planned worked, he wouldn't be able to focus enough to hit her as she sailed by, tightening her chains to catch herself and to cause pain. The pain was different from person to person and often depended on what pain they feared, or she thought they might fear. His free arm retracts and extends to punch her in the ribs as she's curled up! He was too strong willed. She tightened her chains instead, and it would feel much like chains wrapping around him, the feeling of the links collecting painful enough. But as soon as he hit her, she would channel that pain, that breathlessness, through them and share it with him. Unlike John, she had a low pain tolerance, and the pain he felt wasn't based on his own... It was based on hers. She hit the ground fairly hard with a little whine, still focused on channeling her pain. It was this type of attack he hated. Psychics. Or people like them; their powers always so annoying. As Evelyn lands she'd feel John's free leg plant its foot onto her body, pinning her under an immeasurable weight. Looking up at him she could see there was pain in his eyes, sweat beginning to drip from his for head, but he stood tall. "This is generally the hitch with powers like yours. She hadn't met somebody so... strong. It was mind blowing. But it was also exciting. She could see the beads of success on his brow. She pushed harder, then, mixing her pain with the pain she imagined him in, worse than her own... She wanted to get him to lose focus. Her pain was apparent and her trying to compound that into what she was doing to him was a nice touch, but he wouldn't concede. "Which one of us do you think has the higher resolve? In this game of endurance, who will submit first?" The pressure from his foot slowly gets more forceful, squeezing against Evelyn as he gets close and closer to breaking her bones. "Give up." Her chains tightened again and her face seemed to fall into serenity and peacefulness. Evie was more focused on his mind, then, on finding any soft spot she could to rip his concentration from him. She was pushing harder than she had really ever managed to push before, and her body was mostly limp, hands lightly placed on his foot as she weakly tried to push it off of her. Give up? Not so easily. He continues to push! When he feels he's near her bodies breaking point, he lets up, choosing instead to fight through his muscles pain and whip her across the room! He had no idea if the chains would follow her, break off of him, or stay, but this was a good way to find out! Her chains only had a ten foot range, but they were wound tightly enough that they would catch her, and her pain would worsen. She curled into a ball, then, knowing he could have broken her, and still kept probing. Any thoughts that he might have had that she could find to use against him? It was the sole thing he focused on, pushing the pain she was causing to the back of his head. Also utter contempt for psychic-based powers. "I see what you're trying to do and you have the right idea. Trying to weaken me mentally is definitely the way I would go with a power like yours." He starts walking forward. "And for what its worth, its working. If you had some back up, you might be able to take me down." Evelyn would be able to feel that he didn't mean that last part. Her chains disappeared, seeming to just fall out of existence, and she took a deep breathe, her body heaving. She made a noise of pain and curled even tighter into her ball. Fuck, that hurt.
