The usual warmups, some unpowered combat practise, then the exercise he's been doing every day, since not long after Pearson. He's stood in more or less the middle of Tutorial, staring down the way at a motionless Legion bot. They're somehow creepier when they're not moving. He tries to put that aside, to focus, and then he starts. He'd wanted to try something, after he showed the Director his progress - a way to gather the darkness without the huge cloud. A ball of darkness starts to form in his upturned hand, drawing the shadows all around into it as it gets bigger and denser. He starts at beach ball size, pouring darkness in until it feels like he can't fit anything more, until there's the huge sphere of pure darkness hovering above his hand, then he lowers it into his palm, and it starts shrinking. Part one was to fit it in the palm of my hand; I managed it." The ball reaches basketball size, fitting inside his palm. At that point, it starts to shake and Aaron grimaces in concentration, trying to keep it stable! "Part two is apparently to get it even smaller. The Director can put as much power as I'm using here into something the size of a pea. Obviously, I have a while to go before I manage that, but it trains control and develops my power reserves, since I'm dumping so much power into what I'm doing." He was just sucking in all the shadows around him for the ball. "Oh, damn, sorry!" The ball shudders and flares a little, thanks to his distraction! He'd attacked people with their own shadows often enough. The ball of darkness pulses in his hand, ominously, and he tries to strengthen it by solidifying the shadows on the very outside of the ball, essentially "trapping" the rest of the darkness in a container. I have a huge amount of power built up right now, all concentrated in this ball in my hand. If I can direct it all at once at a target, there's the potential for a really powerful attack. Look at the ball as it is now." It's straining under the "cover" of solidified shadow he put over it! As he lets the "top" off the solid shadow, bits of shadows flow up and over, though not escaping the ball. "This is as small as I can condense all this power, right now, without losing control. That means it's under a heck of a lot of pressure, and it's looking for a way to escape - all I have to do is provide that escape, and control the darkness so it all goes in the same direction, and..." He aims his palm, and the ball, at the Legion bot and releases all the gathered darkness in one massive blast that would hit the stationary robot in the sternum! I'm only halfway there, after all." But imagine if he could get all this power into something the size of a pea, like the Director can. "He liked what he saw though, when I showed this to him."
