"I understand the concern, but I can't fault her determination."
They need good field medics, in their operations against the Empire! Wars aren't won just by frontline soldiers, you need healers and logistics and all that stuff. Besides, as Abby would know, Lucien is all for more people signing on to eradicate the Imperial scum.
"Still, I hope you can convince her to rest a while, at least. She can afford to put her feet up for a bit."
"I understand that," he nods! "It's her choice, though, and we do need her."
When the call to war goes out again, they'll need everyone to do what they can, give all they can give so that the banner of freedom may advance. He leaves that unsaid because it's obvious.
"I don't know her as well as you do, obviously, but I have met her, and she doesn't seem like someone who's going to back down if her mind's set on going back out there."
Imagine trying to convince Lucien to leave the fight! It'd be about as hard.
"Tu as raison mais ça jamais été pour une bonne raison pour elle." Absinthe sighs. "Et Jack est un peu égoïste et veux qu'elle reste ici en raison de ses propres peurs."
It really was hard to figure out who was more right.
"En tout cas, je crois qu'elle a maintenant une raison de rester...plusieurs, d'ailleur."
"Of course, you can always tell Jack that, whenever she wants to go back into the field, the mighty Lucien Marais will protect her!"
He flexes one arm and gives her a smile, trying to raise her spirits a little. Ignore that he and Ran had gotten into pretty big arguments more than once.
"Ah. Désoler, c'est quand même des raison plutôt privé." she laughs awkwardly.
"Just pour dire qu'elle a eu certaines nouvelles il y a pas longtemps."
The topic of her cheating husband and being Orchid's adult supervision for crazy magic adventures weren't really discussion topics she wanted to share.
"J'y dirai a mon époux, pareilles." she smiles softly. It was a kind claim.
"Feel free to keep it in mind, though. It's open whenever."
You know what they say about all work and no play! Her work is really important, though then, so is Lucien's. Imperial vermin aren't going to exterminate themselves, after all.
