"I haven't forgiven him for some of the things he said to me."
Her words were not spoken coldly, nor cruelly, but she sounded... exasperated.
"I'm assuming he is taking that fact to heart. He seems to think that everything can be fixed right away, and it can't. I don't have a clue where I stand on most things, and I need to figure that out."
"Well, there was the time he introduced me as some girl he knew. There was the time he said 'you too' instead of saying he loved me. There was the time he tried kidnapping me in broad daylight. There have been the few panic attacks he hasn't dealt with properly."
She was counting each instance off on her fingers before stopping, letting out a sigh.
"It isn't that I don't care, Murdoch. It's that we don't seem like a good match. We honestly seem like we're just hurting each other left and right, and neither of us do anything about it. We don't get angry, we don't get emotional. We just sort of sweep it under the rug."
"Yeah, especially over the course of what? Three months?"
He laughs, taking another sip of his water.
"Life is drama, amigo. And we are essentially in high school. Just don't let it get to you. I know you've got a lot going on, but you have your buddies to support you."
"If you feel it's so bad, I think you need to be the adult in these situations. Not that this situation is entirely your fault, since I don't know all the details, but we make our own drama most of the time."
He nods, hoping she understands what he's trying to get across.
She winces slightly, not able to argue with what he had said.
"I know. I just..."
She was scared of being alone again, and realized just how pathetic it was.
"I'm not exactly well versed in this. Aaron really wanted to work things out. I know... how that feels. To want to work things out and not be given the opportunity."
