Jack's office had started to feel stifling after everything. She wanted to stretch her... chains? Sure. She shed her winter coat and headed down to the Tutorial.
If somebody was there, maybe she'd even get a sparring partner. She hadn't gotten to spar since the Director.
She'd find Mike there as he bashed a blue bat against one of the robot's head so hard that it went flying off and hit the wall with a satisfying thud. He'd lift his free hand in victory unaware that he wasn't alone.
"And Daniels gets the home run! The crowd goes wild!!!!"

His face turned a distinct shade of red as the aura and bat blinked out of existence almost instantly.
"Uhhh... How long have you been there?"
He was silently hoping she wasn't there for the dramatic talk about how he was part of an underdog story that had made it to the world series against all odds...
He said with a nod as he pressed his lips together still feeling mortified that someone had walked in on him. He'd clear his throat and look at the mess of robot bits around the tutorial.
"Let me clean up and you can have the Tutorial. Sorry."
"Oh, no, it's fine," she said, moving to help him clean up. "I actually just came by to see if anybody was down here, maybe get a little spar in. I haven't gotten to practice much. I've been really busy."
With only two chains out, she could focus on her body movement a bit better. She dodged to her left, Mike's right, to keep up with him and tried to close the distance and make it more difficult for him to dodge.
The chain that went for his face went to try to grab the staff, the other still trying to trip him up.
Their souls connect and intertwine around each other. A blur of sensations ripple through both of their bodies. Memories, sensations, opinions, prejudices, hopes, and dreams swirled around in the brief connection before both of their souls snapped back into their bodies. Chains and constructs vanishing. Mike staggered back both hands clutching his head as he tried to mentally process everything that had just happened.
She was expecting pain, something unpleasant... like usual. But it was surprising calming, relaxing. Her shoulders relaxed from the knots that had formed as everything flashed through her, around her.
When she blinked, her chains were gone and she was in the Tutorial. Which she hadn't expected. She hadn't expected anything. Her head tilted to one side and she pushed a hand up into her hair.
