He's not as calm as he sounds - there's a hint of ice to his voice as he turns his focus, for the moment, to the outlaws, solidifying and shrinking the cloud of darkness over them.
He's sick of this. People getting hurt under his watch, taking hits meant for him, being hurt because of him. He joined Paradigm to protect people, but who the hell has he protected?
Enough of these games. He sends a barrage of shadow bolts peeling off the "walls" of the shadow cloud, aiming to bombard the outlaws until they're put out of commission or at least driven out of cover!
Once the bombardment lets up, Aaron wraps the key card in a little bubble of shadow and brings it to himself so he can pocket it! Then he takes Running Crow's hand, trying to use his power to seal the wound and keep things more or less in place.
"I don't know if my powers can heal you, but I can try to keep you going until we get home. Just relax, don't strain yourself; I'm going to try something."
It might hurt. Might not. Listening for any sounds of incoming trouble, he tries to use his powers to fix Running Crow up at least a little! It's no regenerative power, but he can at least plug up the holes, stave off infection, try to hold together things that just got blown apart.
"Once I'm done here, I'm going to go do what we came here to do, but I'm going to come right back for you, okay? I'm not going to leave you behind."
Aaron keeps working, even though it seems to be in vain! If he can't do anything else, maybe he can make things comfortable for him. He can be here at the man's side.
But he's still going to try to do something. The racing of his heart and the thoughts whirling in his head demand it.
"Think about something else. Tell me a little about yourself."
Aaron isn't sure what to do! He doesn't have more than basic field first aid training, and with this injury they'd need a hell of a lot more than 1870s-ish medical technology could do.
Maybe there's something in here? But to look would mean abandoning Running Crow. He tightens his grip on Running Crow's hand as he briefly looks around for Leif, hoping to get her attention if she's still in the room!
"Relax, Crow. It's tough, but I think this can work. Just rest, okay? Don't push yourself, you did well."
He tries to keep the shaking out of his voice, stay strong. Another person dying somewhere it probably should've been him, and this time he's even more helpless than with Miranda. But he can't not try. He tries to gently seal up any open wounds he can find on Running Crow, solidify shadows to hold together damaged blood vessels or reconnect tissues, things like that.
When he looked around, any chance he saw anything resembling a medical kit?
A good point, especially since despite Aaron's knowledge of anatomy, his medical training is only basic field medicine! He focusses on just holding things as they are for now and trying to keep Crow from worsening, as he does another quick scan for anything that looks like it could possibly be a medkit or medical-related.
In fact, is there anything of interest at all in this room?

That's actually worrying. Aaron might only have basic training in medical treatment, but his long martial arts training taught him a lot about how the body works, enough so to know if they're not awake by now, something bad might have happened.
"Leif, I need to concentrate on keeping him together. Can you try to wake one of those guys up, make them tell you where they keep the medical equipment? Be careful though; if he looks like he's going to do something... well, do what you have to. I'm not letting you both get hurt on my watch."
